Chapter 541: Chapter 263: Off-the-Charts Defense

"These guys are tough!"

Bai Lin immediately began analyzing them with his equipment, a hint of tension in his voice. "Their defenses are even stronger than the last batch. A frontal assault will barely scratch them!"

"Then we find their weak spots!"

The Saw Chain Sword in Li Chang’an’s hand flared to life. "Han Ruoxi, Sun Yang, keep their fire contained," he said coldly. "Bai Lin, find their weaknesses.

Shen Qiuyue, you’re with me!"

"Got it!"

Han Ruoxi nodded. Electricity instantly crackled in her hands as she unleashed a powerful bolt of Lightning, striking one of the Mechanical Warriors in the chest.

At the same time, Sun Yang’s Pulse Gun fired a continuous volley of beams, suppressing another Mechanical Warrior’s movements.

"Their defenses are even stronger than I thought!"

Han Ruoxi frowned, realizing her electrical attack hadn’t done much damage. "Brother Chang’an, we need another plan!"

"Don’t panic! Just hold them off for now!"

Li Chang’an roared, dashing to the side of a Mechanical Warrior. He brought his Saw Chain Sword down hard on its joint. The armor was still tough, but the Saw Chain Sword’s continuous grinding finally carved a deep gash into it.

"Go for the joints! The armor is thinner there!"

Shen Qiuyue’s voice rang out as her High-Energy Sword pierced into the joint of another Mechanical Warrior with a screech of grinding metal.

"Excellent! We have a chance!"

Sun Yang yelled excitedly. The beams from his Pulse Gun instantly lanced toward the Mechanical Warrior’s joint, finally punching through its defenses.

The Mechanical Warrior let out a low groan, its movements slowing. The Insect Hunter Squad seized the opportunity, pressing their attack and gradually gaining the upper hand.

"One down!"

Han Ruoxi pumped her fist, watching a Mechanical Warrior crash to the ground.

Just then, however, a low mechanical drone echoed from the other side of the valley. It was followed by a combat machine, far larger than any of the Mechanical Warriors, slowly rising from the cliff face. It dragged a long tail, coiling in the valley like a giant dragon.

"Another one? And it’s even bigger?"

Sun Yang’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Is that thing their boss?"

"Looks like we’ve got a real fight on our hands now."

Li Chang’an tightened his grip on his Saw Chain Sword, his calm gaze fixed on the massive combat machine. "Everyone, prepare to engage! Don’t underestimate it!"

"Can we even take that thing on?"

Han Ruoxi looked nervously at Li Chang’an. "It’s so huge. Will our attacks even be enough?"

"There’s always a way."

Li Chang’an said calmly, his gaze sharp. "Work together. Find its weak spot!"

The Insect Hunter Squad quickly fell into combat formation. The giant combat machine had already locked onto them, letting out a low hum as the Energy Weapons all over its body began to power up. Its enormous tail whipped around like a great serpent, kicking up a gale.

"Attack its joints! Don’t go head-to-head with it!"

While directing the team, Li Chang’an swiftly dodged the machine’s attack. His Saw Chain Sword was already striking the joint of its tail, sending sparks flying.

"This thing’s movements are a little slow! We should be able to find an opening!"

While evading its attacks, Shen Qiuyue observed the machine’s movements. She quickly pinpointed a joint and thrust her High-Energy Sword forward.

Although the machine’s movements were slow, its power was immense. Each attack sent powerful shockwaves through the ground, and its tail nearly cracked the earth with every impact.

"Han Ruoxi, focus your electricity on its joints!"

Li Chang’an yelled, simultaneously putting all his strength into his Saw Chain Sword and slicing an opening into the tail joint.

"Got it!"

Han Ruoxi didn’t hesitate, unleashing a powerful torrent of electricity. The arc of lightning shot straight into the machine’s joint. The huge machine emitted a piercing shriek of metal, its movements growing even slower.

"It’s working! Keep up the attack!"

At Li Chang’an’s command, the Insect Hunter Squad focused their fire. The machine’s movements grew increasingly sluggish until, under their combined assault, its massive body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"We got it!"

Sun Yang waved his Pulse Gun excitedly, a triumphant look on his face. "Now that was a huge victory!"

"Don’t celebrate just yet."

Li Chang’an raised a hand, signaling the team to halt. His wary gaze swept across their surroundings. "That person is gone. He might still be watching us from the shadows."

"This mission is getting more and more complicated."

Shen Qiuyue frowned. "We need to figure out the enemy’s plan as soon as possible," she said calmly. "Otherwise, we’ll just run into more trouble down the line."

"Let’s head back to base and report."

Bai Lin suggested, "The situation here is already complex enough. We need more support."

"I agree. We’re not just dealing with Mechanical Warriors this time, but that mysterious person, too."

Han Ruoxi gazed toward the far end of the valley, wiping the sweat from her brow. "It feels like we were led into a trap."

"Trap or not, the most important thing right now is to figure out what they’re up to."

Li Chang’an’s gaze remained fixed on the distance. "We’re definitely heading back to base, but before we do, I think we need to scout the area for any more clues."

"Scout more? Brother Chang’an, this place is already creepy enough!"

Sun Yang muttered reluctantly, "If we go any deeper, aren’t we just walking right into a trap?"

"Even if it is a trap, we have to check it out."

Li Chang’an said coldly, "If we don’t get to the bottom of this, the enemy’s next move could catch us completely off guard, even after we get back to base."
