Chapter 6395: Pragmatic
Chapter 6395: Pragmatic
“Ancestor, which ancestor?” Black Wind Monarch was scared out of his mind.
An ancestor from Desolate Frontier was a different matter. In a normal sect, ancestors could refer to elders and protectors. At best, the person would be a desolate god or emperor.
This was a different matter for an emperor of Desolate Frontier. In his sect, he was already an ancestor to many. Thus, his ancestor would be a primal ancestor or a heaven-slayer.
Isles of Evil only had two who were significantly weaker than the ones in Desolate Frontier. Everlasting Jiang and the others far exceeded regular primal ancestors.
“You don’t need to know.” Alch-deer smiled.
“Bam!” Li Qiye kicked him away, causing him to vomit blood.
He trembled as he got up, staring at Li Qiye in horror. His eyes changed entirely, aware that this man was either a primal ancestor or a heaven-slayer.
Li Qiye’s ordinary appearance remained the same but the effect was different in the monarch’s eyes. Now, he became unfathomable like a hidden master in the mortal world.
“W-what do you want?” He asked.
“What do you think we want to do?” Alch-deer laughed.
“Don’t, this is our territory, we have countless villains. My uncle is...” Black Wind retreated while speaking.
“I know, I know, your uncle is Goldblade Emperor.” Alch-deer waved dismissively.
Black Wind turned red and felt embarrassed. He always resorted to this but it didn’t work this time.
His uncle was a half-step apex emperor, ranked fourth among the nine villains. This cultivation realm could be described as “invincible” by others, a top existence in all of Old World. Therefore, the threat usually worked and deterred potential trouble.
Moreover, some said he was added to the list of villains due to his familial ties.
When he thought about it again, he knew this threat was useless. A half-step apex emperor was no threat to a primal ancestor.
They only survived against Desolate Frontier due to the enigmatic nature of their islands. Otherwise, an ancestor from there would have caught them all.
They only intimidated regular cultivators, not the behemoth of the righteous faction.
“Then what do you want?” Black Wind mustered the courage to speak again.
“Aren’t we the victims here?” Li Qiye smiled.
Black Wind regretted his decision. Why did he have to pick a primal ancestor out of all the visitors?
“I was blind to your greatness, Sir. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have the courage to even think about it.” He prostrated and said, having no qualms to surrender. His life was more important than reputation and honor.
“Rather pragmatic, aren’t you?” Alch-deer commented.
Black Wind chuckled awkwardly to hide his embarrassment.
“I know you are benevolent enough to spare an insignificant fool like myself, oh great immortal.” He bowed repeatedly, wanting to leave.
“Since I’m here at Isles of Evil, I want to see how evil it is.” Li Qiye said: “Lead the way to your camp.”
“...” Black Wind staggered backward: “I don’t think I can...”
“Why not?” Alch-deer glared at him.
“Well...” He couldn’t come up with an answer while Li Qiye patiently waited.
The more Li Qiye stared at him, the greater the pressure. A chill coursed down his spine.
Finally, he took a deep breath and said: “You’re from Desolate Frontier. If they know I’m bringing its members here, they will kill me due to existing animosity.”
Bringing an ancestor from Desolate Frontier to the islands was akin to betraying them.
“True, many villains from there dislike us. Let’s see, Nine-cries Emperor, Ghost Noble, Yin-yang Companions, Hope Monarch, anyone else?” Alch-deer said.
“That’s too many already, they’ll cut off my head.” Black Wind had a bitter expression.
