Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos

Chapter 534: Sect Missions

Chapter 534: Sect Missions

Lin Feng came out into his courtyard and heard the rhythmic sound of a sharp blade moving through the wind from the peak.

He flew up slightly and saw Sun Xiurong moving with graceful steps, her sword dancing through the air in a mesmerizing display. Every movement was graceful yet filled with sharpness, leaving faint trails of Sword Qi in the air wherever her blade passed.

He slowly landed a little distance away so as not to disturb her and watched her silently.

Sun Xiurong felt his presence but continued with her practice.

She wasn’t trying to comprehend any technique. It was simply a quiet bond between her and the sword itself, allowing her to immerse herself completely in its presence and feel every movement of the blade. It was an important step her master had instructed her to do at least once every month, and she had to admit that whenever she did it, her cultivation sessions always felt much more effective.

Lin Feng understood that feeling very well. He had never followed any Weapon Dao, yet his own body was a weapon in every aspect. In the past, whenever he had the opportunity, he would venture into the wilderness simply to fight to his heart’s content. There, he didn’t have to restrain himself or think about anything else. Every clash and every moment spent on the edge of life and death allowed him to forget everything.

The more unrestrained he became, the more alive he felt.

Perhaps that was why he had always enjoyed fighting more than he cared to admit. It wasn’t merely about victory or becoming stronger. There was something strangely liberating about abandoning all thoughts and allowing his body to move according to its instincts.

Lin Feng sighed inwardly. He hadn’t experienced such a feeling since before his reincarnation. Perhaps his current strength had made him a little complacent without him even realizing it.

He furrowed his brows slightly. Wasn’t this similar to how the Heavens had manipulated those Dao Ancestors? Yet this also raised another question.

Was it truly bad?

Someday, he might really reach the peak of what strength had to offer. When that day came, what would be left for him to pursue? Wouldn’t he inevitably become complacent then? After all, if there was nothing left to achieve, what reason would there be to continue pushing himself?

Lin Feng sighed and shook his head inwardly. ree

That was still a far-fetched dream. He was nowhere near that level yet, so there was no point in worrying about something so distant. Not to mention, if he ever truly reached that height, then at least he wouldn’t be manipulated by the Heavens into becoming complacent, it would be his own choice.

"What are you thinking, junior brother?"

Lin Feng looked towards Sun Xiurong, who had finally stopped and was looking towards him.

"Your sword dance was quite mesmerizing, senior sister.."

He began walking towards her and took out the storage bag which he had gotten from Zhi Hui.

"Here, this is your reward from the competition, senior sister.."

Sun Xiurong put her sword away before taking it. She put it away without even glancing at it.

"Junior brother, if you ever feel short on spirit stones, you can ask me for them.."

Lin Feng smiled slightly," Senior sister, you forgot I am an alchemist, it’s just a matter of time before I can earn them for myself.."

He understood why she said that, there were some arrays inside the chamber which increased the density of Qi further by using high-grade spirit stones.

A higher density of Qi was very much needed in cultivation because it created an environment of tranquility which was important for deep meditation.

He hadn’t used this array till now because it wouldn’t have much effect on him given his real experience.

Sun Xiurong shook her head upon hearing him," Even alchemists feel poor when they have to travel to a different province. The amount of spirit stones you need for teleportation is beyond imagination.."

She knew that someday he would go on a journey to find his elder, so it was better in her view that he save as much as he could.

Lin Feng didn’t disagree with her, he understood the price of teleportation in a stable world very well.

"I understand, senior sister.."

He was a little relieved inwardly about the fact that she didn’t seem angry or repulsed by him due to what happened previously.

"Senior sister, is there any rule about sect missions which I should know about?"

They were in Sword Pavilion, but overall it was still part of Mysterious Heaven Sect..so there must be rules for disciples to complete some missions, after all, a sect this big wouldn’t be able to exist without some necessary missions.

"There is, junior brother, it is advised to complete five missions per year.."

"Advised? Not a necessity?" Lin Feng raised his eyebrows slightly.

Sun Xiurong nodded," Yes, they are not something you have to do if you don’t want to, but if you don’t complete these missions, then your name would be put on a list which is used to assign compulsory missions from the sect, which you have to complete whether you like it or not.."

Lin Feng nodded with a knowing expression.

"There are also emergency-type missions which rarely come, but if they are available, then the Mission Pavilion can select whomever they want for it.."

Lin Feng gave a slight nod again," I see.."

"You shouldn’t be worried about the missions though, since you are an alchemist, the necessary mission you will get is to refine some pills, nothing else.."

"That is understandable."

Sun Xiurong suddenly thought of something," Were you planning on doing some mission, junior brother?"

Lin Feng shook his head, he wasn’t really interested, but he wasn’t against it either," I was just curious about it.."

Sun Xiurong gave a nod," Anyway, I would suggest you should do it, junior brother, there are many Alchemy missions in the sect, and they surely give a lot of spirit stones given the urgency.."
