Chapter 1224:- Chaos & Pandemonium
Chapter 1224: Chapter 1224:- Chaos & Pandemonium
Aditya crouched slightly in front of his father. "Father, get on my back." His tone was so gentle and warm that Rin and Elara felt as if Aditya was talking to his own child. His eyes were filled with love towards his father. There wasn’t any hate towards his father.
Alen obediently followed his son’s instruction without displaying any emotion. He placed his arms around Aditya’s shoulders while Aditya secured his legs, carrying his father on his back in a piggyback position.
Seeing this, Elara immediately volunteered to carry Elena in the same manner, but Rin stepped forward before she could. "I’ll carry Aunt Elena."
Elara looked toward Rin before Aditya spoke. "You will be primarily responsible for protecting us."
Although Elara was still injured, she remained a Peak Sixth Order cultivator. More importantly, once her injuries recovered further, her extraordinary agility would make her extremely useful during their escape. With Aditya carrying Alen and Rin carrying Elena, Elara would be the one with the most freedom to respond to approaching enemies.
Before leaving the mansion, however, Aditya took out a strong rope. He tied one end around Rin’s wrist and another section around Elara’s wrist before securing the rope to himself. It was not meant to restrain either woman. It was simply a convenient way of ensuring that both remained physically connected to him.
This was extremely important because of how Aditya’s teleportation worked. As long as Rin and Elara remained connected to him through the rope, he could bring both of them along whenever he teleported without needing to physically grab them every single time. Rin carrying Elena and Aditya carrying Alen meant all five of them could move together.
Their current position also worked perfectly with the escape route Aditya had prepared beforehand. The mansion was situated opposite the northern side of the Imperial Royal Palace, and the largest concentration of the five hundred Exploding Talismans he had secretly distributed earlier had been placed around the northern entrance and the surrounding areas.
It was finally time to use them. Aditya mentally activated the mana connection linking him to all five hundred Exploding Talismans.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
Almost simultaneously, explosions erupted throughout the Imperial Royal Palace. One after another, the five hundred hidden talismans detonated in rapid succession. Walls shook, windows shattered, and enormous explosions echoed across different sections of the palace. The combined noise was so tremendous that it could be heard throughout most of the Capital.
Within seconds, the entire Imperial Royal Palace descended into chaos. Soldiers rushed toward the locations of the explosions while commanders desperately attempted to understand what was happening. The disturbance naturally attracted the attention of powerful cultivators throughout the Capital as well, including the National Treasures.
This was precisely what Aditya wanted.
Using one of the Imperial Royal Palace’s teleportation arrays had never been a realistic escape option. Every teleportation array within the palace was heavily guarded, and approaching one while carrying the mind-controlled former Emperor and Empress would immediately expose them.
They could hardly walk up to the guards and politely ask to be teleported outside. Even if Aditya killed everyone guarding one of the arrays, that still would not solve the problem. The guards and officials responsible for them possessed the authority to shut the teleportation arrays down during an emergency.
In fact, that had already happened. The moment the earlier explosions occurred, emergency procedures had been activated throughout the Imperial Royal Palace. Every teleportation array had immediately stopped operating, and their main power connections had been shut down to prevent an intruder from using them to enter or escape.
From a distance, Sora and Ritsu watched the chaos unfolding throughout the Imperial Royal Palace with amused smiles on their faces. The chess game between them had long been forgotten, and the brothers now stood beside the window. They were watching explosions erupt across different sections of the palace.
"This is very interesting." Sora commented while watching soldiers hurriedly move through the palace grounds.
"Couldn’t have said it better." Ritsu replied with a smile.
Unlike the two brothers, Levin was becoming increasingly restless. With explosions occurring throughout the Imperial Royal Palace, this was no longer a minor security incident. Under normal circumstances, a disturbance of this scale was exactly the kind of situation where the National Treasures were expected to act.
"We should go and help everyone." Levin finally said.
Sora’s smile slightly faded as he turned away from the window and looked at the younger National Treasure. Although Levin had held the title for around seventeen hundred years, he was still very much their junior. Ever since becoming a National Treasure, he had followed Sora and Ritsu’s guidance on many matters and generally trusted their judgment.
"Junior, let me give you a piece of advice." Sora said.
Hearing this, Levin immediately became quiet.
"What is happening right now probably won’t make much sense to you." Sora glanced toward the explosions outside before looking back at him. "But trust us when we tell you that not jumping to conclusions will save you a great deal of trouble."
Ritsu nodded in agreement before casually adding, "For now, sit here and pretend you didn’t hear a thing."
Levin opened his mouth, intending to question them. However, before any words came out, he noticed the expressions on both brothers’ faces.
They clearly knew something that he didn’t. More importantly, neither Sora nor Ritsu intended to explain it to him.
After thinking about their words for a few seconds, Levin slowly closed his mouth and nodded. He had been around the two brothers long enough to understand the deeper meaning behind their warning.
They were telling him to stay out of this mess. And if two of the oldest National Treasures in the Celestial Dragon Empire believed that getting involved would only bring trouble, Levin was wise enough to listen.
"The other National Treasures around the Capital won’t remain still after seeing something like this." Sora said while watching the chaos outside.
Ritsu nodded. "Which is why this could either be an extremely reckless move or a very calculated and intelligent one from His Highness’s side."
The moment those words left Ritsu’s mouth, Levin’s expression changed.
His Highness.
Levin was not an idiot. There was only one person whom Sora and Ritsu would refer to using that title in the current situation. After all, it was no secret who His Majesty Emperor Ren was fighting against in this civil war.
"Wait a minute...!" Levin abruptly stood up and walked toward another window. His eyes moved across the Imperial Royal Palace, watching soldiers rushing through the grounds while smoke rose from multiple locations.
He finally understood why Sora and Ritsu had been acting so strangely. "You are telling me that instead of commanding the civil war from the battlefield, the Supreme Commander of the Anti-Emperor Faction... the exiled Crown Prince himself is here?"
Levin slowly turned toward the two brothers. For several seconds, he simply stared at them. The shock on his face was so great that he looked like someone had struck him on the head and temporarily taken away his ability to process information.
Sora and Ritsu merely smiled. Their silence was more than enough of an answer.
Meanwhile, the massive series of explosions inside the Imperial Royal Palace caused chaos to spread throughout the Capital.
Thousands of soldiers who had been stationed across the city immediately abandoned their normal patrol routes and began moving toward the Imperial Royal Palace. Emergency orders spread rapidly between military posts, and within minutes, every entrance leading into and out of the Capital was completely sealed. Nobody was permitted to enter or leave without direct authorisation.
At the same time, one of the Capital’s emergency formations was activated. A massive anti-teleportation formation spread across the entire city, covering the Capital beneath an invisible layer of spatial interference.
The moment it became active, every ordinary teleportation array within the Capital became unusable. Even cultivators possessing teleportation-related artifacts or spatial abilities would find it extremely difficult to bypass the formation through conventional means.
Aditya had already expected this. Boris had personally warned him about the Capital’s emergency defences while they were planning the rescue. If a sufficiently serious threat appeared within the Imperial Royal Palace, sealing the city and disabling teleportation would be among the first responses.
However, Aditya’s original escape plan had been created before he discovered that particular artifact inside Malakor Harrington’s hidden treasury. That artifact had given him another option.
For this reason, Aditya did not immediately rush outside after detonating the five hundred Exploding Talismans. He, Rin, Elara, Alen, and Elena remained inside the mansion while Aditya waited and observed how the Imperial Royal Palace responded to the chaos.
And the response to this kind of attack was even greater than he had expected. Powerful auras began appearing around the Imperial Royal Palace one after another. By this point, more than five National Treasures had already arrived from different parts of the Capital. Each one was a Seventh Order cultivator, and their arrival immediately made Aditya’s situation significantly more dangerous.
The explosions had successfully created the chaos he wanted. But they had also attracted some of the most powerful cultivators in the entire Celestial Dragon Empire.
