Chapter 355: That’s Right, You Will Fall in Love with Tang San, and You Will Betray Your Teacher

Chapter 355: That’s Right, You Will Fall in Love with Tang San, and You Will Betray Your Teacher

The Chat Group’s Light Screen spread out in mid-air, with messages scrolling past like flowing water.

Hu Liena had originally only spared it a casual glance, the laziness in her fox-like eyes not yet faded. The next second, her entire face darkened completely.

[Daddy Douluo]: I believe everyone here knows well that when it comes to the term ’ungrateful wolf’ on the Douluo Continent, there is no second choice besides Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden, Hu Liena.

[Daddy Douluo]: For a one-sided, unrequited love that didn’t even have a title, this Holy Maiden, Your Highness, was able to sell out her personal master and lose the entire Spirit Hall, doing so cleanly and without any hesitation.

[Daddy Douluo]: Calling her an ungrateful wolf? Heh, that’s giving ungrateful wolves too much credit.

Three messages, each one more piercing than the last.

Hu Liena’s breath hitched the moment the third message popped up.

It felt as if a lump of red-hot iron had been stuffed into her chest.

Her fingers tightened uncontrollably, her knuckles letting out a series of soft pops.

The string of rationality in her mind snapped inch by inch.

"This bastard..."

She squeezed the words out from between her teeth.

The pavilion was empty, and her voice echoed twice under the dome, carrying an irrepressible tremble.

Hu Liena stared fixedly at the name on the Light Screen—[Daddy Douluo].

A codename she had never seen before.

A fellow who had popped out of some unknown corner,

and immediately pinned a massive, false accusation on her.

She didn’t even know this person, completely ignorant of whether they were male or female, old or young.

Yet, this person knew her background and her identity as Bibi Dong’s Personal Disciple perfectly well.

This wasn’t right!

Hu Liena forced herself to take a deep breath. The cold air rushed into her lungs, slightly cooling her boiling emotions.

[Daddy Douluo]: Old friends probably know the details inside out, but the two newcomers in the group who are natives of the Douluo Continent might not. So today, I’ll treat it as a bit of fun and sort this matter out from the beginning.

[Daddy Douluo]: The Star Dou Great ForestSoul Hunt operation—when was the prototype of this plan finalized? Those present can recall it for yourselves.

Bibi Dong wanted to hunt two 100,000-Year Soul Beasts, the Titan Giant Ape and the Sky Azure Bull Python.

Just how high was the security level of this plan?

The number of people who knew all the details could be counted on one hand.

And Hu Liena, as Bibi Dong’s Personal Disciple, happened to be one of these few insiders.

[Daddy Douluo]: That’s where the problem lies.

Hu Liena’s pupils contracted sharply.

Her breathing became heavy, her chest heaving violently, as a chill crept up from the soles of her feet along her spine.

She didn’t know why she had this feeling.

Clearly, everything the other party said was a lie.

Yet that tone was so certain, as if they had witnessed it with their own eyes, as if they were recounting a fact that had already occurred.

"No!"

She suddenly realized.

This person was using the result to deduce the cause.

He first established the conclusion that ’Hu Liena is an ungrateful wolf,’ and then began to fabricate a chain of evidence.

Link by link, portraying her as a treacherous villain trapped by love.

"Who on earth are you?"

Hu Liena’s clenched fists trembled slightly.

"Do you dare to come out and confront me face-to-face?"

Naturally, the Chat Group could not respond to her self-muttering question, and the messages continued to scroll.

[Daddy Douluo]: During her mission, Hu Liena met a man named Tang Yin—which was actually Tang San’s alias.

At that time, Tang San infiltrated Spirit Hall with the sole purpose of causing destruction.

This Holy Maiden, Your Highness, told Tang San the contents of the Soul Hunt plan in the Star Dou Great Forest, word for word, without missing a single detail.

[Daddy Douluo]: I don’t need to say more about what the result was, do I?

[Daddy Douluo]: Bibi Dong led her team to the Star Dou Great Forest, only to end up with nothing.

The two 100,000-Year Soul Beasts were intercepted by the arriving Tang San.

Both 100,000-year soul rings went to him.

Spirit Hall suffered a double loss, losing both their bait and their prize.

And the source of all this was our Holy Maiden, Your Highness, tipping him off.

...

Hu Liena scrutinized the accusations in that message.

"The Star Dou Great ForestSoul Hunt operation? Hunting the Titan Giant Ape and the Sky Azure Bull Python?"

Her brow furrowed.

She had never heard of this.

Her teacher had never mentioned any plan related to this to her, not even hinting at it.

Her status in Spirit Hall was not low; as the Holy Maiden, she could access some core secrets more or less.

But regarding this matter, her mind was a complete blank.

What she found even more absurd was that name.

Tang San, Tang Yin.

This person actually claimed she would fall in love with this Tang San.

But these two names were equally unfamiliar to her.

She searched through all her memories.

From all the Spirit Masters she had ever interacted with to all the files she had read, there was not a single person who could match these two names.

What unrequited love?

What leaking of secrets?

What letting Tang San benefit?

From beginning to end, the whole thing seemed like someone had fabricated a grand play out of thin air and then forced her name into the script.

"It’s absolutely preposterous."

Hu Liena’s voice carried a cold laugh. She raised her hand to touch her forehead, her fingertips brushing against her slightly hot skin.

"I, Hu Liena, act openly and uprightly, and my loyalty to my teacher is as clear as the sun and the moon. On what basis does this person use such vicious words to slander me?"

Her heart was thumping wildly in her chest, not out of guilt, but because of anger and an indescribable sense of grievance.

It was like walking down the street and having a bucket of dirty water splashed on you from behind, without even knowing which direction the person who threw it was standing.

She paced back and forth in the pavilion corridor several times.

Each step was extremely heavy, her heels tapping a rapid rhythm on the stone bricks.

After reaching the peak of anger, another emotion slowly surfaced from the bottom of her heart.

It was confusion.

This person was crystal clear about her master-disciple relationship, knew her status and position inside out, and even had a considerable understanding of the internal workings of Spirit Hall.

This showed he was not some street-side rumor-monger making things up, but someone who possessed actual information.

But the problem was, she herself had absolutely no knowledge of the version of the story he was telling.

There were only two possibilities.

Either this person was spreading rumors, doing so extremely meticulously by crafting a whole set of logically self-consistent lies.

Or, this person knew things that even she did not, and was making some sort of implication.

Hu Liena stopped her pacing.

Raising her head, a complex look surged in her fox-like eyes.

The shifting shadows on her face cut her expression into countless fragments.

"Fine."

She said softly, her voice frighteningly calm.

"You say I’m an ungrateful wolf, that I let down my teacher, and let down Spirit Hall."

"Then go ahead and keep talking. I want to see what other tricks you can spin."

She sat back down, crossing her hands over her knees, her posture as upright as if she were awaiting a trial.

Only her slightly trembling eyelashes betrayed that she was not as unperturbed as she appeared on the surface.
