Nanny Shui startled by Wufu cut her own hand, blood oozing out, and the knife clattered onto the table.
Wufu also jumped in fright, quickly grabbing her hand and plunging it into a ladle of clear water, then wrapping her finger with a handkerchief.
"Where is Nanny’s room, let me help you back to apply some medicine."
"Ah, it’s alright, just apply some golden sore medicine," Nanny Shui said with a smile, "My age is really showing, unpracticed for years and the knife skills have become rusty, it seems I can’t teach the Princess Consort today!"
"Nanny." Wufu supported her as they walked out.
A maid came up to greet them, Wufu asked her a question, then assisted Nanny Shui to her room.
"Princess Consort, this old servant will just call a maid to apply the medicine, you should quickly return to accompany the Empress Dowager, lest the maid spread rumors and she gets startled," Nanny Shui advised.
"This is all my fault." Wufu sat her down on the bed, and under guidance, found a small box containing medicine, personally bandaging her.
Nanny Shui was sincerely overwhelmed with fear, wanted to speak but hesitated, watching Wufu’s serious profile.

Princess Consort, you’ve just returned home, the Empress Dowager likes you very much, and the Prince holds you in high regard, you should treasure it. Your earlier question, this old servant shall pretend not to have heard, and certainly won’t disclose it to her ladyship."
"If I can’t find out from you, I might need to ask Royal Mother!"
"You!" A brief coldness flashed in Nanny Shui’s eyes.
To think she believed she was someone who understood propriety, yet turned out to be so unwise.

"Nanny, don’t be angry." Wufu pressed her hand gently, "The Prince and I are united, along with Royal Mother, and her privacy, by rights, as juniors, we shouldn’t intrude."
"So the Princess Consort does possess some self-awareness after all!" Nanny Shui mocked.
Wufu was indifferent and said, "As a daughter-in-law, Royal Mother’s privacy is not of interest, but when it concerns Ah Jiu’s safety and well-being, I must dare."
"What?" A shocked Nanny Shui grabbed her hand quickly and asked, "What are you saying, how is the Prince affected?"
How did it come to involve safety?
"Ah Jiu already knows the Emperor’s intentions toward Royal Mother. He wants to uncover the truth of this, secretly dispatching the captain of the Secret Guards to investigate. That person was killed by the Emperor," Wufu looked into her eyes and said, "Why, does Nanny think the Emperor killed that person? Knowing fully it’s Ah Jiu’s Secret Guard captain, why kill him? Doesn’t he understand what he was investigating? Don’t you think the Prince already suspects him!"
Nanny Shui’s face turned white. Being a wise person, she instantly understood what Wufu meant by safety—wasn’t it the Emperor having murderous intent toward Ah Jiu?
"Shui Xin, what’s wrong?" The Empress Dowager’s voice came from outside, quickly assisted by the Palace Maid appearing at the door, upon seeing her wrapped hand, her face paled with fright, saying, "Quickly summon the imperial physician, how did you cut your hand?"
Wufu apologized from the side, "It’s entirely my fault, insisting on learning how to make those sticky rice treats, causing Nanny to get hurt."
"Your ladyship, I’m fine, just old age making my eyes blur, a momentary lapse!" Nanny Shui quickly reassured, giving Wufu a signal not to mention it further.
Wufu knew the moment had passed and had no choice but to restrain herself.
