Chapter 1768: Chapter 1706: Changsheng in Trouble
Hua Wushuang put a lot of thought into recording Changsheng’s name in the genealogy, and how he convinced those elder members was of no concern to Wufu, as it was not her business to care about.
After some twists and turns, Hua Wushuang finally opened the ancestral hall and recorded Changsheng’s name in the Mei Family Genealogy, under his own name.
Although the name was recorded, Hua Wushuang did not declare Changsheng as the next heir. Firstly, Changsheng was still young, frail, and had a long way to grow. Secondly, Hua Wushuang shared Wufu’s thoughts in not wanting others to pay too much attention to Changsheng, for who knew if anyone had ulterior motives.
But since the name was recorded, and Hua Wushuang was unmarried and had no children, this child under his name became the Young Master, hence all the servants of the Mei Family instinctively started to address Changsheng as the Little Young Master.
Changsheng was recorded under Hua Wushuang’s name, and although not explicitly stated as the heir, he was undoubtedly regarded as one, the happiest being Steward Mei, as this status assured him that even if Hua Wushuang were no longer there, he wouldn’t have to worry about having no descendants to worship him.
Thus, good things flowed into Changsheng’s room like water, making others envious and jealous.
As soon as the name was recorded, Wufu prepared to set off for Beiyan. She had no attachments in Nanyue, as her only beloved was in Beiyan, so naturally, she needed to go over and reunite.
Originally, Changsheng planned to stay with Hua Wushuang for a few years, and since Hua Wushuang had nothing else to do, it was fine to go to Beiyan together as well.
But just as they were preparing to leave, Xiao Changsheng suddenly had a mishap.
When Purple Jade came with a pale face to say that Changsheng was vomiting and having diarrhea, with red rashes all over, Wufu felt her breath pause for a moment.
Wearing a martial arts uniform, she hurried to Changsheng’s room, where she heard his heart-wrenching cries. Inside, Hua Wushuang was erupting in fury, cold as millennium ice.
Wufu’s heart chilled as well, and with a frosty expression, she walked in, where everyone was kneeling on the ground.
She paid no mind to those kneeling and approached the wet nurse who was pacing back and forth while comforting Changsheng, saying, "Put him down."
Changsheng was crying non-stop, his tiny body trembling, causing Wufu’s heart to ache immensely.
She gently patted his body to comfort him, and upon looking down, she saw his neck and little face covered in red rashes. Slightly pulling his collar, his neck was also spotted with red rashes.
"Where’s Jadeite? Where’s the doctor?" Wufu, holding back heartache and anger, asked.
"Jadeite is preparing medicine." Hua Wushuang stood by her side, coldly replying, "The doctor is on the way."
"What happened?" Wufu sternly questioned the wet nurse, "How are you taking care of him?"
The wet nurse, who was found by Hua Wushuang, nervously replied, "I don’t know. I’ve had a bit of milk returning these past two days, so Steward Mei brought in a milk goat to provide milk as food for the young master. The goat’s milk was delivered by Grandma Khor. We personally tested it with no issues before feeding it to the young master. Never did I think that not long after drinking, he would start vomiting and develop rashes."
Wufu immediately looked at Hua Wushuang, her eyes sharp.
Hua Wushuang’s face was dark and unsightly, and he walked out without saying a word. Hearing him order an investigation, Wufu’s heart turned even colder.
She lowered her head to look at Changsheng, the little one’s face flushed red from crying, coupled with the red rashes, he looked like a little red figure—it was terribly distressing.
