Chapter 5357: Training Azariel
Chapter 5357: Training Azariel
Lucian and the others’ expressions churned as they reeled back.
Viridia felt a pang in her heart as she watched the training instantly turn extreme for her twin brother.
However, she didn’t say anything, nor did she avert her gaze.
Tianyu and the siblings of Class Two quivered ever so lightly. They knew how rigorous their father’s training regime for them would be. It would be several notches above what their mothers and other teachers planned for them, making them faint repeatedly from straining themselves beyond their limits. Sometimes, it wouldn’t be about reaching their limit but racking their brains to get out of a dangerous situation or get their bones broken at the very least.
Although they would get healed quickly, the pain was real and inflicted on their bodies, causing them to shudder.
Meanwhile, Azalea and Silvia practically hid behind Myria as they shuddered in fear, as it was fairly new to them.
Quentin’s eyes were wide, Eden looked surprised, and Zyren heaved out a cold breath with a hint of disbelief.
Only Lydia looked fairly calm, as she had long secretly noticed how strict and imposing her father could be when it came to training his children. He rarely ever let them plead, taking them down before they could even express a hint of protest. She knew that although her father loved them to death, he also had no qualms about hurting them when it came to training, but the primary victims were indeed the sons, while the daughters were less subjected to cruel training regimes that involved pain.
Nonetheless, they all looked at their father but didn’t dare meet his gaze, fearing he would point them out.
Disbelief still etched their faces as they lowered their heads, unable to believe Azariel was destroyed by mere pressure when they were both Empyreans.
They knew Azariel was a Level Four Empyrean, and recently, they also came to know that their father’s cultivation base was Level Seven Empyrean after his return and had heard of his incredible feats. However, this didn’t really hit them in their brains on just how powerful he could be, but now that their pillar, their powerful eldest brother who was invincible to them, was crushed instantly with just pressure alone, the difference hit them like a tidal wave.
"Good reaction."
However, they heard Davis say it satisfactorily before turning around and leaving the hall. His voice still echoed, "But that doesn’t mean you could withstand what’s about to come, so do your best to crawl to the training grounds while enduring my soul pressure."
When the children turned to look at him, they saw he had a bone-scythe in his hand.
Then they moved their gaze back to Azariel and saw that one of his six bone scythes was missing!
They couldn’t even perceive the exchange, yet their father practically sliced apart Azariel’s scythe attack at the last moment cleanly, so that even blood didn’t drop. Instead, it looked as if it was affected by some strange Law.
"Weii!~"
After Davis left, Everdream and Evergrace, who had been playing together in the distance, ran to Zenova and held her robe, letting out their grievances as they saw their father being so cold for the first time.
"What-?"
Zenova didn’t even know why they came to her, but she had no choice but to calm them. Panic nearly set in before Lydia came by and hugged them, making her inwardly sigh. She felt like she wasn’t cut out for enacting this kind of care.
Tianyu also walked to them and petted them, "My fluffy little pies, don’t cry. Father isn’t mad. He was training eldest brother Azariel. There’s no need to worry. Soon, he will wake up."
"Wahh!~"
They cried even louder, causing Tianyu to dryly laugh.
It took some effort to calm them down.
Outside, in the secluded training grounds of the Davis Family, which was a vast space in the northwest corner of the estate, Davis appeared as he sat down on a peak.
Myria and the others followed suit, finding it hard to stay with the children.
"Big brother, you really planned on bringing us to make this scene, didn’t you?" Tia complained with some disbelief.
"You really went too far." Myria narrowed her eyes, "Was it really necessary to make him faint in front of his siblings? You could have brought him outside first, chose another place that’s away from the central mansion."
"..." Zenova remained silent.
If anything, she approved this kind of show of force from the Emperor. It didn’t exceed the limit of his authority in her mind either.
Stella said in a mosquito voice, "You were too harsh on our poor Azariel."
"Being too harsh on him?" Davis laughed lightly before his expression turned solemn.
"I made it embarrassing for him? No. I want his siblings to know whatever he attained didn’t come easily. They can never complain that the reason he became powerful was that he was the first son and had access to the most resources."
"But-"
"Just watch him stand up and come here." Davis said coolly.
"..."
Myria heaved a soft breath, "I hope Evelynn doesn’t catch you doing this."
Davis’s expression didn’t change- because he knew she was already watching. Besides, she had already consented to letting their son undergo the transformation he was going to put him through, much less the training regime that was required for it.
"Don’t worry too much." He flicked his sleeves and sat down on a rock, his expression confident, "My fine son Azariel has already completed the first part of training, enduring pain to the utmost level. Now I’m tempering his soul. My true body will come out soon to oversee the transformation process, but-"
"Considering my children have been basking in my deathly aura whenever I try to scare them and Master Deathseeker’s when he tries to assassinate them, their Wills are already extremely good for their ages. However, that isn’t enough. The most important thing is for him to improve his Will, or it might not be able to withstand the changes and cause him to become corrupted from the chaos of bloodlines clashing within him, causing him to explode or turn into a savage beast."
Myria contemplated for a moment before she nodded, "I’ll talk to big sister Evelynn then. You concentrate on his training. However, I will be here, ready to aid anytime. Just let me know what we’re dealing with so I’m not unprepared."
"Shh-" Davis placed his finger over his lips, "We do not want karmic entities interfering with what I’m about to do. I’ll reveal it when it happens."
"..." Myria pursed her lips, not knowing what to say.
She felt this was becoming more and more dangerous for something like karmic bloodlines to be involved. She could only hope it was a secondary byproduct and not part of the bloodline itself. Considering he was carrying many hydra bloodline treasures, she supposed he was going to make Azariel adopt the hydra bloodline, but how?
Azariel’s bloodline was already one of the rarest with the combination of an Earth Dragon and Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid. Azariel’s bloodline needed to be improved upon his mother’s, but Davis hadn’t taken any steps to infuse the Chaos Dragon Bloodline and Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid Bloodline. It was already difficult for these two bloodlines to mix, but he was trying to incorporate a third one?
All of this just left her wondering just what he was trying to do.
At this moment, she turned to look into the distance and saw Azariel waking up in the huge hall of the main mansion. It already looked empty when everyone was gathered, but when everyone cleared the space, it practically looked deserted- only if it weren’t for Esvele and Mira standing in the hallway, watching him.
Azariel tremblingly stood up as he held his head. His body swayed as he found it hard to stand straight. Holding his head, he looked around and saw that he had made his siblings concerned for him, so they practically left the area, not wanting him to feel embarrassed.
Or was that his father’s doing?
’No... father is trying to temper my soul and improve my Will, so he will definitely try to cause mental damage such as shame... I shouldn’t succumb to it...!’
Azariel reached out his hand forward and moved, taking a step forward.
*Bzzz!~*
He barely took a step on the ground when a tremendous pressure fell on him again, causing him to stomp his foot on the ground and clench his teeth. He barely lasted a few seconds before he fainted again, this time falling to the side.
*Thud~*
Mira touched her cheeks with some disbelief. She had come here sensing the disturbance since she would also play a lot with the children, but they had suddenly disbanded, causing her to come running back after taking a short break.
But now, Azariel was being suppressed by her master’s soul force? What’s going on?
"Do not be alarmed. Watch over him if you’d like."
Davis’s voice suddenly resounded in her head, causing her to nod. She instantly understood this was Will tempering training like she and he did back then, when his Will had first acted up to her own dominating side but was dominated instead.
