Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5236: Shaking Off The Pursuit

Chapter 5236: Shaking Off The Pursuit

Davis recalled the soul physique’s name. He could only wonder how tasty it would be to refine it and aid his own soul, considering this was the soul of an Absolute Primarch. It was bound to be fruitful for him since the Will would’ve also been nourished by the heavens.

His Will could be improved at a significant rate.

"I’m a simple man who has Enigmatic Heart Laws. I clearly differentiate between right and wrong, helpless and intentional, hostility and duty. When things get personal, it really gets messy."

Davis smiled coldly as his nonchalant voice echoed out, causing countless experts behind the Heaven’s Warriors to feel like they had descended into a cold lake.

"But today, I’m not in a hurry to break the period of peace."

Davis walked in the air, his footsteps creating spatial ripples as he descended towards them.

He headed towards them, making them all appear on guard. They always had their armaments and artifacts out, moments away from attacking him, but he walked all the way to the two Venerable Knights and gazed at them with a faint smile.

"If you all want to seal me so much, then try your best to stay close to me until the seventh day passes."

Davis leaned forward lightly and pointed at his cheek, "Maybe you could even sneak a punch on my wretched face if you’re daring enough."

He boldly provoked them with a sneering expression, his side profile appearing as wicked as it could be.

It made the Heaven’s Warriors fume, and even the two Venerable Knights couldn’t keep their emotions in check as they had never been provoked by a Divergent like this!

"What’s this?"

Davis quickly sprang back as he spread his hands, "No one wants to hit me?"

He panned his gaze at them with disbelief before his expression turned into a wrathful deity as he flicked his hand.

"Then why are you all here!?"

His Temporal Voidplane Ring rumbled.

"Retreat!"

Venerable Knight Foredawn and Venerable Knight Renard pulled back at the same time as they pushed their subordinates back along with them with extraordinary energy control. Particularly, Venerable Knight Renard’s soul was like a heavenly melody. His voice filled with a heavenly tune allowed the Heaven’s Warriors to instantly synchronize with him. Together, they instantly appeared thousands of kilometers away in an instant, even dragging the bystanders along with them.

However, their expressions quickly contorted as they saw no attack was released.

That replica that had even managed to seal the Celestial Transcendent for a few seconds didn’t activate! No, it intentionally wasn’t activated.

Instead, they saw the Divine Emperor of Death remove the Temporal Voidplane Ring and the other rings from his right hand before he raised that hand all the way back before slapping at the empty space in front of him.

*Qrrack!*

Cracks spread out like a spiderweb as space quickly shattered in its wake. The cracks extended as far as the size of a galaxy wormhole, utterly blocking their path to the Divine Emperor of Death as the void sucked out the heaven and earth energy from the skies.

It looked like it would absorb the entire realm with it as the spatial cracks simply weren’t healing!

Tumultuous winds rose in the skies, and the atmosphere instantly turned stormy. Venerable Knight Foredawn’s flames and Venerable Knight Renard’s heavenly melody died down as soon as they surged since they recognized this attack.

Chaos-destruction!

The very thing that eliminated half of them in the Lower Realms!

Venerable Knight Foredawn was simply stupefied as he hadn’t seen it but had heard about it.

Just how concept-breaking was it to destroy all the spatial layers of the Second Layer in one single move that didn’t amount to much when it could be compared to a strike from a Level Ten Exalt, but most importantly, not let it heal for a very long time? Even the great void seemed to be harmed ever so lightly as spatial storms erupted from it in wrathful howls.

They could sense the aura of the Void Dimension eclipsing the area, trying to stitch the space back actively.

"Tell the Celestial Transcendent that if he needs my expertise to destroy the Galaxy Wormhole, I could be of great help."

The Divine Emperor of Death’s voice echoed out.

They gritted their teeth and rushed to the sides to follow him, but as soon as they saw him, they saw that he was still there looking at them mockingly.

However, Venerable Knight Renard took his flute and played it.

*Wu~ wu~ wuuuu~ wu~ wu~*

A melodious flute rippled across the skies, instantly dispelling the illusory mask of the world and disrupting concealment.

His expression remained solemn as his pupils dilated.

The Divine Emperor of Death dispersed in thin air, but most importantly, the giant flying palace was nowhere to be seen, as though it had just disappeared into thin air.

"What!? Where did they go!?"

Venerable Knight Foredawn arrived from the other side of the destroyed space and exclaimed.

"They escaped the moment the Divine Emperor of Death came out while leaving behind the illusion of the flying palace anchored to the space..."

Venerable Knight Renard was utterly somberly as he could tell what happened.

Evidently, they had fallen into the trap of focusing on the Divine Emperor of Death the moment he appeared outside. They remembered the Venerable Elders vaguely warning them to be careful of the Divine Emperor of Death’s powerful ability to gain all the attention all to himself, making them unable to focus on other objects and matters.

He didn’t appear to have used that, but simply played with them, provoked them as he got near, and then finally unleashed chaos-destruction to disrupt their senses from encompassing him before making his escape.

Venerable Knight Renard was sure that he was somewhere still here, closer than that obsidian flying palace at the very least.

His gaze flickered as he pointed in a direction.

"Follow Venerable Knight Foredawn in that direction. The rest of you follow me."

He turned around and dashed into the distance where he sensed a spatial ripple appear, likely from the Temporal Voidplane Ring.

The swath of cultivators looked left and right, not sure who to follow but still chose to follow one group as they felt that they couldn’t miss this out.

Soon, the space was cleared except for a few stragglers who sighed and discussed the fate of the realm with the Divine Emperor of Death running about like this.

In the space around the great void, Davis emerged along with Fairy Qiyra Darkstar and Laphria Rinmei. In Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s hand was the miniature form of the obsidian flying palace, compressed to the very limit while still hosting people inside. On the other hand, Laphria Rinmei heaved a breath, pouting.

"That was extremely dangerous. What if we were to be sucked into the great void?" Her eyes were still dull, her voice weak.

Davis barely stopped himself from chuckling embarrassedly, "It should’ve been easy to escape if it weren’t for Venerable Knight Renard. I’ve fought him before. He’s not easy to defeat, much less fool. Even my concealment techniques would be useless against him if we don’t hide in the crevices of the shattered space. Thankfully, his melody isn’t piercing enough to penetrate the disruption from the great void. It wasn’t able to unravel your twilight-illusion combination move within the confines of the shattered space."

Davis wanted to praise them, but he saw that they were still unamused. He hurriedly continued.

"In any case, let’s quickly leave before he realizes both spatial ripples I unleashed with the Temporal Voidplane Ring were bait."

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar didn’t hesitate while Davis and Laphria Rinmei entered her astral ring..

She transformed into a semi-astral light as she directly shot across the realm using the connection between two neighboring stars. She didn’t shoot up to a star directly but moved in an arc like a cannon that had been launched at a mountain peak but missed and flew all the way to the other side of the mountain. The obsidian flying palace flew along with her, anchored to the astral body.

She didn’t even need to spend much astral energy to perform this maneuver since she wasn’t fully condensing herself into an astral body.

"..."

The people who decided to not give chase could only watch dumbfoundedly as they saw a shooting star traverse the skies as it shot past the purple-white sky and shot across the realm.

The two groups also spotted them.

However, they were helpless to give chase.

They could not traverse such distances quickly without being able to pinpoint where they would land, and by the time they arrived, those hateful Divergents would’ve already left and hidden themselves well.
