Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5175: I Assure You

Chapter 5175: I Assure You

The Celestial Transcendent’s fist was moments away from reaching Davis when he abruptly sensed something swell in his soul. A purple-black wisp emerged in his soul sea, gripping him with a dense amount of vile karma that was extremely similar to karmic sin.

His gaze barely flickered, thinking he could make the Divine Emperor of Death’s face explode before anything happens, but suddenly, it infused with him, causing his arm to blow apart all the way to his right shoulder and half his ribs.

The exploding blood sprayed outside like a mist as he missed Davis’s face entirely and rushed past him, only to turn around and look at him with surprise.

"What was that just now? You deeply comprehended one of the foundational karmic concepts- karmic sin and used it to harm me?"

His voice was laced with disbelief as he cast a glance at his broken body.

It must be known that his avatars were all chaotic bodies. Not only did the energy they contained match Hierarch Stage experts, but it was also capable of reducing the damage by many times over because of the sheer density of the body.

The fact that a quarter of his fleshly body was gone for a karmic attack from a Level Four Empyrean, even with two replicas at the Peak Primarch Grade, was a ridiculous notion.

"..."

Davis’s lips curled as he gained distance, "My apologies. As a junior, I’m not going to make it unfair for myself by revealing the way my technique works."

He looked quite insidious with the Celestial Transcendent’s blood nearly painting half his body.

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar and the others also had their pupils dilate. How Davis harmed the Celestial Transcendent to this degree in one seamless strike was beyond them.

Even if he did say that he would take on the Celestial Transcendent alone, it was a plan that hinged on the use of that second replica in his hand! This plan was concocted before he got his hands on this strange treasure, which they had no idea where it came from.

Now that he got it, it surprisingly put him at the layer limit, making it somewhat easier for them to continue on with the plan.

In that case, they wouldn’t need to hold back either and help him to quickly get rid of the Celestial Transcendent’s avatar.

In this injured state, they were confident the Celestial Transcendent wouldn’t be able to take down the four of them working together in tandem.

"Don’t interfere. This battle is mine to prove that our plan will succeed."

However, Davis’s voice fell in their minds, causing them to be shocked.

However, they weren’t surprised since they knew the plan. They only turned to look at him and nodded.

"So this is what you used against Elluro Coldwing." The Celestial Transcendent’s upper right body quickly began to twitch, regenerating at a normal speed, "You used a peculiar fusion of Karma Laws and Death Laws. Use it a few more times against me, and I will counter it when you expect the least."

"Heh."

He chuckled, causing Davis to sneer lightly.

Judgment Laws were the fusion of Death Laws and Karma Laws. However, he could also replicate judgment through the fusion of Enigmatic Heart Laws and Death Laws since he suspected his Will also carried the same concept of the Being of Original Sin, a Primordial Soul he theorized could be in control or have command over karmic sin.

In fact, it was more efficient and more powerful to use Enigmatic Heart Laws and Death Laws in the form of fusion to mete out punishment.

But this time around, he didn’t use Enigmatic Heart Laws to power Judgment Laws since he knew it could be countered if it was a battle of Wills. He wasn’t foolish enough to try to battle his Will out with the Supreme Ruler of the Galaxy, especially when his cultivation base was higher than his, even if the other party was just an avatar.

Moreover, he needed his Will to remain unharmed during the course of the battle.

Still, it didn’t matter how he used his Judgment Laws since it was going to be unstoppable by the time he reached the end of this plan.

He raised his hand that carried the second replica, wanting to make the next move. The Celestial Transcendent also raised his hand, his chaos energy undergoing rapid changes.

"Supreme One! Stop this!"

But suddenly, a shriek echoed across the stormy abyss.

Davis and the Celestial Transcendent’s brows raised as they turned to look at Fairy Runalise.

Unexpectedly, she was still awake, barely holding on against the pressure.

She was at the edge of the cavity, using her sword as support as she plunged it into the ground and stared at them with her enigmatic white eyes, her black hair flailing from the force of the wind from the intense storm.

"You- want me to stop?" The Celestial Transcendent looked speechless as he pointed at himself.

He didn’t mind talking since it would only help him regenerate his right upper body. He cast a glance at Davis, wondering if he would be fine with it, and saw him also looking at Fairy Runalise as though he wasn’t concerned.

Fairy Runalise’s bosoms heaved as she tried to endure against the immense pressure they radiated at the layer limit. It was constricting her powerful soul so much that she felt like she was going to faint, but suddenly, this pressure somewhat lessened.

She recognized that the two of them were giving her a chance to speak.

However, she didn’t bother with thanking them. Instead, she gazed coldly at the Supreme One.

"Can your eminence take responsibility if the Divine Emperor of Death managed to escape and the people continue to suffer from the Desolate Era?"

"...?"

The Celestial Transcendent appeared stunned as he pointed at Davis and her, wondering if he had corrupted her Will, but Davis shook his head.

In Davis’s mind, he had only changed her fate of being restricted by the heavens for being a Heaven’s Warrior. What she did had or how she acted had nothing to do with him since he didn’t command her to do so.

It was still weighing on his mind how her life would play out now that he had changed her fate, and she was asking the Celestial Transcendent to take responsibility instead of accepting her guilt of associating with the Divine Emperor of Death?

Davis inwardly cried in pride. Fairy Runalise had walked a long path from the time she had met her. She feared him less and less, and now she was even challenging the Celestial Transcendent.

He wanted to clap and cheer for her. Not many Heaven’s Warriors would dare to question the Celestial Transcendent like this.

"Do you even realize what you’re asking of me, the Celestial Transcendent?" The Celestial Transcendent asked with a faint look of amusement.

Fairy Runalise said with a calm expression, "The Will of the Heavens could not be easily infringed upon. What the Divine Emperor of Death is doing is no different than courting death, yet your eminence still won’t let him try? We can seal him after he succeeds. It wouldn’t be any different."

"..." The Celestial Transcendent looked as though he was at a loss for words.

"I’ll ask again." Fairy Runalise heaved a breath, "Can you take responsibility if the Divine Emperor of Death manages to escape and the suffering of the commoners extends for a longer period of time?"

The Celestial Transcendent’s lips curled, "This is not a play where it could end well. Can you take responsibility if the Divine Emperor of Death manages to achieve what he’s trying to do but accidentally makes it even worse than before due to Heaven’s Wrath returning again and eliminating an entire realm instead?"

"..."

Fairy Runalise’s gaze shook. However, she took a deep breath and said, "In that case, my unworthy life is yours to execute."

She had thought of this before, since it was one of the worst-case scenarios she had envisioned, but she saw how wonderful the Divine Emperor of Death had kept his sanctuary, where it was relatively more peaceful all year round. She believed he wouldn’t inflict harm upon ordinary people, unlike the heavens that started the Desolate Era to kill him, no matter the cost.

It felt like her eyes had truly opened when that happened, causing her to side with the Divine Emperor of Death in this endeavor.

"Truly, your one life wouldn’t be worth it at all compared to the lives of quadrillions. We don’t know what will happen if we let him succeed, and it is precisely why we must stop him no matter the cost."

The Celestial Transcendent turned to look at Davis as he brought out the Stormheart Incarnation Prism. It arced with its strange yet terrifying golden lighting that gave Davis a strong sense of danger.

"I assure you he wouldn’t be able to escape."

"..."

Davis also turned to look back at the Celestial Transcendent, his lips curling into a wide smile.

"We’ll see about that."
