Chapter 5132: Return Of Domains?
Chapter 5132: Return Of Domains?
Jillian Hayden was confused.
However, the fact that the City Lord was dead became more prominent in her mind. The City Lord was unable to enter the World Hegemon Stage since his cultivation hadn’t reached that far, barely trying to increase his cultivation slowly without the appropriate resources.
How could someone like that give their word that they would aid someone else in reaching the World Hegemon Stage?
Even a well-off Exalt wouldn’t dare state that.
Such a lie could be easily exposed, yet she couldn’t see any wavering in his voice, expression or eyes.
It was as though he really deluded himself into believing such a thing, which allowed her to know either he was loaded or was incredibly young and full of life. However, he was full of scheming, so she was inclined to think he was the former.
Jillian Hayden gazed at him firmly, "The gap between an Exalt and a World Hegemon is not great when it comes to prowess, but it signifies another step, the Third Step. In that stage, we’ll no longer be immortals but literal deities who could trample upon life as we see fit and create a world of our own as our inner worlds can finally manifest outside. Caught in those worlds, even Exalts would be suppressed, their prowess lowered by half at the very least."
"The return of domains?" Davis raised his brows in pleasant surprise.
After the Law Dominion Stage, techniques to imitate domains have been developed, but they are useless, since space keeps getting denser with every ascension, and Laws would be extremely hard to control when one imposes their Will on the domain instead of attracting heaven and earth energy and going with the flow.
It was the difference between being rude and polite.
Even if their Law Intents were high, they shouldn’t impose their Will, or the backlash would be serious, interfering with the battle, and the energy usage was also ridiculously high, so domain techniques were lost altogether since they were quite useless.
For quite some time now, Davis felt that after the Law Dominion Stage, domains had transformed into a half-Will technique. Hence, in the Immortal Stage and above, releasing domains was not always about suppressing the opponents but offending the universe, the heavens, and the unknown.
This was in line with the way the immortal cultivation method was developed and modified from ancient times.
The seed in the Law Seed Stage turned into a Domain, then a Sea before finally becoming a Law Rune.
This Law Rune was always dormant, gathering insights into one’s understanding of Laws in its energy form. This Law Rune then remained dormant all the way until the Exalt Stage, where it fused into the Exalt Vessel. Hence, until the Exalt Stage, domains couldn’t be used naturally and could only be used through techniques that imitated them but were still highly draining. It also required Will to form and solidify, which no one seemed to be cultivating, or rather, was very difficult to even perceive.
Hence, it was abandoned for the entire Second Step and was revived in the Third Step!
"Not domains but worlds!" Jillian Hayden raised her hands, "Imposing a world in space means dissecting a part of space for yourself."
"Ah, no wonder domains become usable and valid..." Davis nodded, "So it’s likely that they are forced to sit like a turtle in the space they projected their world. After all, limitations are everywhere for the balance of the realms. Moreover-"
"..."
Jillian Hayden’s expression twitched as she heard him go off like a curious scholar. She confirmed he wasn’t a rich scion from a Greater Realm. Otherwise, he would’ve known this already. She knew only thanks to her rich library from her ancient family.
"Oh?" Davis refocused his gaze on her, "You seem to have made up your mind?"
Jillian Hayden stared at him in wonder before turning to look at the distant moon, the luminescent rays shining on her.
"From the moment we secluded, my family’s wish has always been to give birth to a World Hegemon expert. Then we could finally have a chance to attain Grade Nine Bloodline after finding a Bloodline Master of the Hegemon Grade. But today, I let go of this collective mandate to give myself a new mandate. I will be in control of my own fate after I become a World Hegemon. I won’t sacrifice anything for the betterment of the Hayden Family."
"That’s good. I’d hate to see someone I nurtured sacrificing it for trash."
Jillian Hayden then turned to look at him, her gaze full of determination, "I will do it regardless of whether you help me or not. No matter how many years it takes, hundreds of millions or billions, I will do it by myself. You only need to promise me to let me go once this is all over."
"Good, good." Davis stood up from the bed. He pointed at her with an approving gesture, "Focus your vengeance on improving your cultivation. It will give great results in the beginning, and time will heal your scars since it’s just your family. Moreover, you can walk out right now as long as you swear a True Soul Contract that you won’t expose anything. I won’t stop you since I only said what I said, since you wouldn’t believe me that I have no bad intentions against you."
"Hahaha..." Jillian Hayden suddenly laughed, her voice dry, "If I walk out right now, my parents themselves will throw me in a cage and bring me back here again, even worse than the Saint..."
"..." Davis went speechless. He could see that happening.
Then Jillian Hayden surely won’t leave them alive. That wasn’t good. He was of the idea that parents shouldn’t kill their children and vice versa.
His Tina might be still scarred over it. Fortunately, she didn’t love her father anyway since he was a rapacious bastard who even tried to violate her little sister.
"I meant it when I said I would give you supplies. You can surely become a Mid-Stage Exalt with these supplies, so you do not need to remain in this city and can go somewhere else." Davis said.
Jillian Hayden wasn’t the only poison apothecary, and certainly, she wasn’t the greatest. There were many others who could probably do better, but he only had Jillian Hayden to rely on, for convenience and for her knowledge stemming from an ancient family’s archives on poison medicine.
In any case, it wasn’t certain that Evelynn could be cured of bloodlust, so he only wanted to allow Jillian Hayden to take a look and diagnose.
