Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4434: Azalea Flower

Chapter 4434: Azalea Flower

"That would be the case until we find some faults."

Myria nodded, looking quite withdrawn as her expression was blank.

"What’s with that vague wording...?" Mingzhi’s lips parted.

"It’s our first iteration."

Davis added, "There could be some changes as we learn more, but so far, the flaws are very few, which will not interrupt our cultivations. It is more like connecting a circuit to a component whose internal composition is already at a high level. The flow of energy would only get much better."

"I see..." Mingzhi pouted, "Creating cultivation manuals is too much work. I’ll stick to stealing the ones that the Daynight Family has. Surely, they also have an Exalt Grade Cultivation Manual that they’re hiding deep."

"Maybe... if they have an Upper Realm branch, they should have an Exalt Grade Eternal Daynight Scripture. You can investigate it."

"Mhmm... I’ll do." Mingzhi nodded, "The others would also need to start procuring Exalt Grade cultivation manuals sooner or later. Then tell us what you’ve been doing the past few months. What type of cultivation are you training in?"

"..."

Davis paused. Myria cast a gaze on him.

The two of them knew, but if he could’ve said it, he would’ve done it already.

He smiled lightly, "It’s not something that could be said with words as it involves tremendous karmic burden."

"Then why are Everlight and Myria the only ones who could meet with you? Myria aside, wouldn’t Everlight be harmed more?" She raised her brows, putting him in a spot.

Davis kept his smile, his expression unchanging, "That’s because they agreed to take the risk-"

"Then-"

"Then I have allowed them to take the risk. The rest will stay unharmed."

"..." Mingzhi simply couldn’t continue further anymore to his dominant tone.

She narrowed her eyes, staring at him, but eventually decided not to pursue further. She sighed since he was right.

"Karmic burden is a huge problem indeed. Our tribulations are growing more powerful day after day the more we gather extreme knowledge. However, because our prowess is already high, we are managing to survive. Still, tribulations aren’t the only thing karmic burden affects. Our destiny is shaped by it, too. We can have anywhere from a bad day to total annihilation because of it when meeting with someone of massive good fortune. It can’t be underestimated, so I’ll yield."

"Good." Davis nodded.

"But I’ll get to the bottom of it sooner or later. Now have fun with Natalya and Tanya."

Mingzhi sent him a soul transmission, looking sly.

"..."

Davis was speechless. He had a bad feeling about this if Mingzhi were to find out.

Nonetheless, he continued to discuss more about the happenings and the manual before proceeding to take off by himself.

When he reappeared, he was outside Lea’s chamber, knocking on the door.

"Come in~"

Lea’s soft and mature voice echoed out.

Davis’s heart shook.

He pushed the door open and entered inside, finding little Felix playing with a baby on a cradle.

*Thud~*

At the same time, Lea dropped something on the floor as she stood near a table arranging flowers. She stared at Davis with a huge shock, her eyes glazing with numerous emotions.

"Sorry, I was late..."

Davis felt immense guilt swell within him.

He wasn’t there when Lea delivered the baby. Unexpectedly, she had also entered a time chamber, so he was unable to time it right.

"No, you’re not." Lea hurriedly walked up to him, her voice full of emotion before she hugged him.

"Welcome back, Father!"

Felix jumped and also grabbed his hand.

Together, the three of them hugged together, giving Davis immense joy.

Felix was only five years old. His crimson hair grew long, and his sapphire eyes shone like ocean pearls, full of adoration for him.

"Father, look! It’s my little sister, Azalea!"

"...?"

Davis turned to look at Lea, "You’ve named her after the Azalea flower that signifies beauty, wealth, and happiness?"

"Yes, you wouldn’t mind, would you? She also has my name in it~" Lea giggled.

"Good choice." Davis nodded, "If you had left the naming to me, I would’ve also arrived at that same name or Scarlea, a scarlet storm born from Lea."

He reached out his hand and drew waves in the air.

"Why so aggressive?" Lea smilingly slapped his shoulder.

Davis chuckled and kissed her cheek. If Felix wasn’t here, he would’ve totally gone for the wild kiss. Lea and Felix led Davis to Azalea, who was barely two months old.

Her cute face reacted when her crimson eyes caught sight of him. She blinked curiously, causing Davis to feel an intense amount of affection in his heart as he reached out his hand and caressed her short blonde hair.

She was so small and precious that he was barely out of words. It was a long while since he had seen one of his children like that, and it somehow seemed like a long time for him, making his eyes nearly tear up.

"She is healthy... no physique... but born with Burning Phoenix Emperor-Tier Bloodline, good..."

Davis checked her little body by sending a minute strand of his soul sense. Unable to help himself, he lifted her up softly and embraced her with care.

Azalea looked to her mother as though seeking help. However, she didn’t cry. She turned to look at Davis and Lea back and forth, appearing immensely curious.

"How are you, my dear eighth daughter?" Davis asked.

"Wowo~" Azalea made baby noises as though responding to him.

It made his expression bloom, "I see, I see. You’re fine. So, your father has returned. Do you have anything to say to me?"

"Vua~"

Azalea inclined her head. She then raised her hands, touching his cheeks with her little palms and looking into his eyes without breaking contact.

Davis couldn’t be anymore happier as he played with his daughter for some time.

Finally, he sent away Felix, who wanted to play with others. It seemed like Lea didn’t allow him to leave because he needed to focus on cultivation. Knowing this was his chance, Felix escaped.

Davis was about to close in on Lea, but she raised her hands.

"Natalya just came back. You should go to her first and then Tanya." Lea made him turn around, pushing him away.

Davis turned around, "I was about to ask you that myself, but at least a kiss is in order, right?"

"..."

"Our harem may be carefree and easygoing, but there’s an order to everything, and if you don’t follow it, how will others?" She berated him with a stern voice.

However, Davis didn’t respond. He intently stared at Lea.

"..."

Lea also stared back, but she eventually blushed.

The force in her arms receded before they stepped into each other’s personal space, their lips connecting before they made a mess out of each other’s mouths while the baby was sleeping.
