Chapter 4430: Quick Test
Chapter 4430: Quick Test
Roan landed as if nothing unusual had happened before focusing back on his RC.
’So, anything else?’
Tobao and Arcis felt like crying.
Roan had remained in the air for nearly three minutes before deciding to end the demonstration. That was already far longer than any Zone God could manage. Even after seeing him fly with their own eyes, the two Law Gods had assumed he would only be able to stay airborne for a few seconds.
-So you don’t intend to explain how you managed to stay in the air for that long, huh?-
Roan thought for a moment before answering.
’What else is there to say? I can do it because I don’t spend as much energy, isn’t that obvious? To be more specific, I can stay airborne for around five minutes. It’s not like I can remain there for over ten minutes like the two of you. As for Arcis, he can simply fly with his wings anyway.’
-Don’t say it like it isn’t a big deal!- Arcis almost shouted. -That’s an enormous deal! Your Godly Energy reserves were supposed to run dry in a matter of seconds!-
’Same answer as before. We are different from everyone else here,’ Roan replied calmly. ’Anything else?’
Tobao could only shake his head.
-Amitabha... Friend Roan clearly has no intention of revealing anything further, so let us end the conversation here. Still, if a day comes when you discover a method to reduce the Godly Energy consumption required for flight, please let us know.-
Roan didn’t mind agreeing.
’I will tell you if I ever discover something like that.’
With that, the communication ended.
—
Roan stepped out from the secluded corner where he had made the call and blended back into the crowd on the street as though nothing had happened. He then headed straight toward the Alchemist Guild.
After arriving, he stopped at the reception counter. "I reserved a slot for the Level Two Alchemist Test."
The employee accepted his identification token and checked the Guild’s records. "Oh? You chose the paid test."
There were two ways to take the promotion exam. Most alchemists simply waited for the weekly examination, where everyone who hadn’t paid was tested together. Those who didn’t wish to wait could spend a few Godly Spawn Crystals and take the examination immediately instead.
For the twins’ group, that amount of money was insignificant.
The employee quickly registered Roan’s arrival before sending him a notification. "I’ve sent the workshop number to your Ring Communicator. Please head there. One of our certified alchemists will conduct your examination."
Roan nodded before making his way deeper into the Guild.
It didn’t take him long to find the assigned workshop. The room was fully equipped with cauldrons, furnaces, and every common alchemy tool, but no one had arrived yet.
Since there was nothing else to do, Roan quietly examined the equipment while wondering what kind of test they intended to give him.
Several minutes later, the workshop door opened. A middle-aged woman walked inside with an annoyed expression. "So you’re the one who paid for an immediate test?"
Roan simply nodded.
"Tch... I was in the middle of my own research, you know?" she complained before letting out a helpless sigh. "Well, I agreed to be on duty today, so I suppose that’s my own fault. Let’s make this quick."
She glanced at Roan’s cultivation. "You’ve just reached the Aura God Realm, haven’t you? Good enough. Make me a standard Level Two Energy Gathering Pill. Once you’re finished, I’ll evaluate its quality."
Roan walked over to the cauldron without another word.
As soon as he ignited his Light and Dark Flames, the woman’s eyes shifted toward them.
"There aren’t many humans with both Light and Dark Element affinity," she commented. "Honestly, you’d probably get better results by simply using your Yang Energy to control ordinary Fire Element. There’s no need to make things so complicated."
Roan calmly shook his head. "It isn’t complicated."
Seeing his short answer, the woman merely shrugged. "Suit yourself."
She stepped aside and silently observed.
Roan worked with practiced precision.
One ingredient after another entered the cauldron at carefully calculated intervals. His Light and Dark Flames continuously adjusted their intensity while his Godly Sense monitored every tiny change within the medicinal liquid. Godly Sense cost a lot of energy, so he had to use it from interval to interval, but he knew exactly when he needed to use it, so it wasn’t a problem.
Before long, a rich medicinal fragrance filled the workshop.
The woman narrowed her eyes before unconsciously taking several steps closer. "That’s quite an aroma... but it feels different from a normal Energy Gathering Pill."
Roan didn’t stop working. "It’s because of the Light and Dark Elements infused into the pill."
"I see..." Her curiosity only grew stronger. "Everyone develops their own techniques eventually."
She paused before asking another question. "By the way... why does your hair turn white and black whenever you use those two elements together?"
Roan answered just as casually. "It simply happens whenever I manipulate both Light and Dark Element at the same time."
Naturally, that wasn’t the real reason. His appearance changed because he was drawing Light Element from Rean through their soul connection.
There was no chance he would explain that.
"You’re quite an unusual fellow..." the woman muttered before returning her attention to the cauldron.
As she had implied earlier, the Energy Gathering Pill was among the most common Level Two pills in existence. There was obviously Level One of the same pill.
Roan had refined countless versions of it throughout his years in the Great Void. Since the Guild’s records already identified him as an ascender, she had never seriously worried he might fail. To her, this examination was little more than a formality.
About an hour later, the medicinal liquid finally condensed.
Five pills floated out of the cauldron before landing neatly in Roan’s hand.
Without even bothering to bottle them, he simply handed them over. "Here."
The woman accepted the pills with visible interest.
Unlike ordinary Energy Gathering Pills, these were snow white with elegant black streaks running across their surfaces.
"What an unusual appearance..."
Instead of reaching for one of the Guild’s measuring devices, she swallowed one immediately.
Roan raised an eyebrow.
He had expected her to inspect the pill through proper evaluation equipment rather than testing it on herself. Still, he wasn’t worried in the slightest. He already knew exactly how good his pills were.
Only a few breaths later, the woman’s eyes widened.
A broad smile spread across her face. "Now this is why I enjoy examining ascender alchemists." She looked at Roan with genuine appreciation. "Every now and then, one of you brings something entirely new."
She carefully examined the remaining pills. "This doesn’t merely improve Godly Energy absorption. The combination of Light and Dark Element also helps purify the user’s meridians."
Roan nodded.
That had always been one of the defining traits of his pills.
The Light Element protected the meridians while the Dark Element destroyed accumulated impurities. With sufficiently advanced formulas, he could even destroy damaged meridians completely before reconstructing them from scratch.
Naturally, a simple Energy Gathering Pill wasn’t powerful enough for something that extreme.
"Is that enough?" Roan asked.
The woman nodded happily. "More than enough."
She put away the remaining pills before extending her hand. "It was worth interrupting my research after all. My name is Restifiana."
"Roan."
"Roan," she repeated with a smile. "Would you be willing to share the method behind this purification effect? Naturally, I’ll exchange my own findings as well. Although..." she chuckled, "...everything I discover eventually ends up on the Alchemist Guild Network anyway, so you’ll have access to it regardless."
"No need." Roan immediately connected to his Ring Communicator and uploaded the complete method to the Guild’s database. "It has already been submitted. I wanted to share it before, but since I hadn’t reached the Aura God Realm yet, I couldn’t confirm whether the technique would still function properly. Now I know it does."
Like Rean, Roan had never been particularly interested in hoarding knowledge.
Restifiana’s smile grew even wider. "Excellent! Then give me a moment."
She connected to the Guild’s network, completed the necessary procedures, and a few moments later looked back up. "There. You’re now officially registered as a Level Two Alchemist."
"Thanks."
Roan gave a slight nod before turning around and leaving the workshop.
That was all he had come for. He had no interest in staying for idle conversation.
Only after he disappeared through the door did Restifiana let out a small sigh. "What a cold personality..."
Still smiling, she connected to the Guild database. "Let’s see what kind of recipes you left behind."
