Chapter 316 - Crying Bitterly
Chapter 316: Crying Bitterly
My voice choked.
Jing Ni’s gaze wavered. “Nanxing, I didn’t mean…”
“Yes, you do!” I said. “Since you came back, you refused to admit Sky City and me into your confidence. You act on your own. You don’t discuss anything with me. You don’t care about us anymore. You look down on us for failing to protect you. You are angry with us!”
Tears fell from my eyes. I knew how unreasonable I was, but Jing Ni was being unreasonable too.
Jing Ni stood up to hug me. “Nanxing, no, it’s not like that. I can’t implicate you and Sky City! I’d rather die than see you get hurt by them! Nanxing, you’re my best friend. I can’t let you get injured because of me!”
Jing Ni hugged me and started crying.
I hugged her and patted her back. “Are you dumb? Do you think I’ll stand and watch as you hurt yourself? Why are you so stupid?”
Jing Ni and I hugged and cried. This was the first time Jing Ni had cried since she came back. I was slightly relieved. Venting emotions was important.
When Jing Ni came back totally calm and almost robotic, I was so scared. I was not afraid of her crying or making unreasonable demands, but I was extremely fearful when she appeared so collected. Because the calmer she appeared, the more turbulent her heart was.
When my little uncle decided to bring Jing Ni back because Jing Ni said she wanted to take revenge, I already felt a sense of unease.
When I saw Jing ni waving her whip at Shi Feng, I thought Jing Ni had walked out of her trauma.
But I was wrong.
Jing Ni’s heart was crammed full of emotions. Shi Feng was a temporary catharsis, but it was not healing.
Jing Ni’s heart was riddled with holes.
The sound of footsteps suddenly came from outside. A man dressed in sharp clothes walked over to whisper something into Qu Hao’s ear.
Qu Hao waved his hand, and his people turned around to leave.
I patted Jing Ni and supported her.
“Silly, why are you crying? Since you’ve exposed yourself on the darknet, then so be it. We’ll face it together.” I sighed, resigned to fate.
Jing Ni looked at me with tears in her eyes. “Nanxing, what can I do to stop them from finding trouble with you?”
I was furious. “Did I just cry for nothing? Jing Ni, are you that determined to push me away? You want to cut ties with me, don’t you?” I glared angrily at her.
Jing Ni lowered her eyes.
This girl was really stubborn.
Footsteps came from outside. We turned our heads to the door.
“Nanxing!” Jing Tian called out anxiously and pulled me into his embrace.
“Hey! Let go!”Mr. Tong Le pulled him away.
I raised both my hands. “Stop! Stop!”
As long as they were together, I always felt like a kindergarten teacher.
“We’re fine and not injured. Everything is dandy!” I quickly showed them Jing Ni. She was not injured.
Tong Le sneered, “Fine my arse! One of you exposed yourself on the darknet, and the other launched a rescue mission without telling us! Do you think Jing Tian and I have too low blood pressure? You’re not going to stop until we’re dead from anger?”
I hastily put on a smile. “Little uncle, but you’re so wise and divine…”
“Shut up!” Mr. Tong Le reached out his hand and slapped my forehead.
“Don’t hit her on the head!” Jing Tian pointed at Mr. Tong Le discontentedly.
“This is all your fault. If you continue to let her do things like this, eventually, she’ll create trouble so big even we can’t handle it!” Tong Le said fiercely.
