Chapter 162 - Scar
Chapter 162: Scar
Jing Tian laughed soundlessly. He reached out and rubbed my head. “Do you want me to apologize?”
I was angry. “Why would you apologize? Do you know what you’ve done wrong?”
He sat up and removed the top button of his shirt. “Whatever it is that you say I did wrong, I must have done wrong.” He said while looking at me.
“That doesn’t answer my question!” I sat up and jumped down from the bed. I stood on the carpet and placed my hands on my waist.
He stood up and looked down at me. He rubbed the top of my head. “Shouldn’t you go to bed already? You still have class tomorrow morning!” Then he turned to the bathroom.
“Hey! We are not done with this yet, you’re not leaving!” I dashed before the door and stopped him.
He humored me. “Nanxing, what really happened?”
“What is your relationship between you and Gu Yan?” I demanded.
He was stunned. I glared at him. “The right answer is nothing and you got it wrong!”
Jing Tian smiled and rubbed my head again, “Are you jealous?”
I smacked his hand away. “Stop doing that, makes me feel like a puppy.” Jing Tian laughed heartily.
I stared at him angrily, tears welling up in my eyes. “So what really is the nature of your relationship with Gu Yan?”
When Jing Tian saw my tears, he panicked. He reached out to hug me. “What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly so jealous? There’s nothing between me and her.”
“Hmph!” I was furious.
He patted my back. “She said I have put your life in danger when I forced you to admit publicly that I am your fiance. She even said that I was the one who force you to make that admission because I have saved you back then!”
Jing Tian’s voice chilled. “Who is she to question you? And why do you care about what she said? Just ignore her!”
I leaned in his chest. “When did I save you? How come everyone knows about it but me?”
Jing Tian lowered his eyes and looked deeply into my eyes. He asked softly. “You really don’t remember?”
I nodded. “And I’m unhappy that I can’t remember.”
He combed through my hair and found a scar on the back of my head. “Does this still hurt?”
I shook my head. “No, but sometimes it’ll get the comb stuck in my hair.”
Jing Tian smiled but I felt sadness in it.
“You don’t remember how you got this scar?”
I nodded. “Nanyang probably did this. She often beat me when I was young.”
Jing Tian hugged me tighter. His face rubbed against my head. “I’m sorry, I’m the one who left this scar on you.”
I was shocked and leaned back to look up at him. “How?”
“You were injured because of me.” There was a thick sadness in Jing Tian’s words.
I asked softly. “Jing Tian, I really can’t remember anything. Can you tell me more about it? I don’t believe others, I will only believe you.”
Jing Tian looked at me and seemed to have come to a decision. “Okay, go to bed first. This weekend, I’ll bring you to a place, perhaps you’ll remember everything then.”
“Okay.” I agreed readily.
That night, I asked Jing Tian to hug me as I slept. Jing Tian hugged me through the quilt but I could sense that he was distracted.
“Jing Tian, what’s going through your mind?” I asked.
His hands tightened.
After a long time, so long that I was about to fall asleep, I heard him ask. “Nanxing, once you know everything, will not stop liking me?”
“Of course not!” Even in the somnambulant state, my answer came instinctively.
“Why?” Perhaps it was my imagination, but Jing Tian sounded afraid to me.
I patted him on his arm. “Jing Tian, I remember how nice you were to me in my previous life so this life I’m all yours.” Jing Tian hugged me tighter and I finally drifted off.
Jing Tian, I have forgotten the things from my childhood but you have forgotten the things from our previous life, so let’s call it even. But the things that you have done for me, that’s enough for me to stick with you for 10 lives.
In my last life, you have to settle with a ruined Nanxing but in this life, I will give you a perfect Nanxing.
Even my dreams were beautiful. The next morning, I woke up refreshed and took Jing Tian’s car to class. Jing Tian looked tired. I turned sideways to study his dark circles.
He pushed my head to look ahead. “What are you looking at?”
“Didn’t you sleep well? Did I snore?” I turned to study him again.
The corners of his lips curled up slightly, and he finally smiled. “No, you slept like a log.”
I held my chin and looked at him. “Jing Tian, you’re so handsome! I love you so much!”
Jing Tian’s face was red. Even though it was just a light blush, I saw it clearly.
I chuckled. I turned my head away and sat upright. Flirting with Jing Tian is always a happy thing to do! He is mine!
