The spectators cried out loud.
"No... I think he’s just showing off and will run out of gas soon."
The participants in Yuan’s group, as well as the spectators, believed that Yuan was just trying to show off and was using what little energy he had for the spectacle.
However, Yuan jumped onto the log and continued running on it until he reached the point where arrows began to appear.
Of course, he dodged all of them without slowing down.
"How is he still going?! Where the hell is he getting his energy from?!"
"Hey! Call the technicians!"
The higher-ups immediately asked the technicians on duty to double-check whether the formation suppressing their energy was working properly.
"The technicians have confirmed that the formations are working as intended!"
"How is that possible?!"
Everyone was in disbelief.
General Gu then said, "The formation suppresses everyone at a fixed rate. Therefore, if someone possesses the ability to regenerate their energy faster than the formation can drain it, they could theoretically outpace its suppression."
Sure enough, Yuan was simply regenerating his energy faster than the formation was exhausting it, allowing him to move at full speed.
"What is his physique rank, again?"
"Inexhaustible Heavenly Refinement, sir!" Someone answered.
"Inexhaustible Heavenly Refinement, huh? Although that in itself isn’t enough to out-regenerate the formation, if he has a technique to assist him further, it’s possible. Still, the formation gets stronger the longer they spend on the course, so it should suppress him sooner or later."
"If he doesn’t finish the entire course by then, that is..." someone remarked.
In the blink of an eye, Yuan arrived at the second obstacle course, immediately jumped into the water, and began swimming.

They wore puzzled expressions at first, but when they saw his face and realized he wasn’t from their group, that confusion turned to shock and disbelief.
"W-Who the hell are you?!" One of them cried out loud.
Yuan stopped briefly and responded, "Do you even have time to worry about me? You should focus on yourself first."
As he said that, arrows started flying at these participants.
While the others struggled to dodge the arrows, Yuan continued climbing the mountain with graceful, seemingly effortless movements, resembling a monkey that had spent its entire life scaling cliffs.
In the end, Yuan reached the top and cleared the entire obstacle course long before the previous group, setting a new record.
"He actually did it! He surpassed the previous group!"
"And look at him! He doesn’t even look the slightest bit tired!"
In the other spectators’ room, Sergeant Zao muttered in a low voice, "What a monster... he’s even more ridiculous than General Mei’s latest elite soldier."
"I can’t wait to see how he performs in the last two trials..." Wu Wang said with a smile on his face.
After completing the trial, Yuan was teleported back to the room, where everyone who had passed before him was waiting. As for those who were disqualified, they were sent home immediately.
Everyone present stared at him in silence, as if they were standing before an otherworldly being beyond their comprehension.
Meanwhile, Wu Wang approached him and said, "It’s been a while."
Yuan looked at him with raised eyebrows and asked, "Do I know you?"
"What are you—"
Wu Wang suddenly paused.
Then, after clearing his throat, spoke in a stiff tone, "I mistook you for someone else. My bad."
He turned around and walked away, leaving the others puzzled.
After all, if the military discovered their relationship, they would likely question him about Yuan, potentially exposing the contract between them.
Some time later, all of the remaining participants had completed the obstacle course. By the end, more than three-fourths of them had been eliminated, bringing the remaining participants to just over 10,000.
"We will proceed to the next trial immediately. Follow me," Sergeant Zao said before leading them into another room located beside the obstacle course.
The room was long and spacious, appearing empty at first glance.
"For the third trial, we will be testing your control over your Limitless. Once we start the trial, the restriction on your cultivation will be temporary removed, allowing you to use Limitless."
"Here is an example."
A moment later, a red target suddenly appeared a thousand meters away.
Then, without warning, Sergeant Zao pointed at the red target and formed a small orb of energy at his fingertip. He fired it like a bullet, striking the target and shattering it.
"The target will begin 100 meters away and move farther back each time you hit it. To pass this trial, you must strike it a total of ten times. Of course, you may continue beyond that. Anyone who manages to hit the 10,000-meter, 20,000-meter, and 40,000-meter target will receive a bonus reward at the end of the recruitment."
"Any questions?"
One of the participants raised their hand and asked, "Is there a limit to how many attempts we get to hit the target?"
Sergeant Zao raised three fingers and replied to the question, "Thirty. You get thirty shots."
