After hearing Yuan’s words, Selena responded to Heaven’s Mandate, "Very well. I’ll meet your emperor."
They smiled inwardly after hearing this, and the General of the squad said, "In that case, let’s leave immediately!"
However, Selena narrowed her eyes and said, "I will go when I am ready."
"B-But His Majesty is waiting—"
"So what?" Selena interrupted in a cold voice, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Let us make something clear right now. Although I may be a guest here, do not order me around. I will tolerate your insolence this once, but if you treat me as though I am beneath your emperor and disrespect me again, I will punish you accordingly, regardless of your identity."
"M-My apologies! I will watch my mouth from this moment forth!"
The General trembled at Selena’s invisible pressure, his back soaked in cold sweat.
"Then we will wait outside until you are ready to leave. Once you are ready, please let us know."
After saying that, Heaven’s Mandate swiftly retreated outside.
"Are you sure you should be acting so arrogantly?" Yan Hara asked in a concerned tone once they were alone again. "The Celestial Emperor plays a crucial role in uniting our worlds. If you offend him... things will only become more difficult."
"I have no intention of lowering my head to the emperor of this world," Selena calmly replied. "If anything, he should be the one lowering his head to me, as the fate of this world currently rests in my hands."
"Although I do not want the humans of this world to fear me, I also do not want them to look down on me. There must be a balance, or coexistence will be impossible."
Yuan suddenly said, "As crazy as it sounds, the Immortal Monarch once united humans and beasts through fear and violence. That being said, I don’t think it would work as well in this situation."
Selena looked at him and asked, "So, when do you want me to meet with this Celestial Emperor? And what do you want me to say to him? How should I act?"
"You can meet him as soon as I leave this place. As for what to say..." Yuan paused for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "I couldn’t care less what you do as long as you don’t kill him."
Yan Hara’s jaw dropped at his words, and she quickly spoke, "You don’t intend on going with her?"
"No, I have other things to do. Also, I don’t intend on meeting the Celestial Emperor unless I need to kill him."
"What did you just say?" Yan Hara’s eyes widened at his outrageous words, even doubting her own ears for a moment. "You want to kill the Celestial Emperor? Why would you want to do that?"
"It’s not like I want to kill him, but if he continues to stand in my way, I will have no choice but to get rid of him."
"...Just what is happening between you and the Celestial Emperor?"
Yuan merely shook his head at her question.
"Then when are you going to leave?" Yan Hara changed her questions after realizing that Yuan didn’t want to continue talking about the Celestial Emperor.
"Very soon."
"In that case, before you leave, I want to let you know that I plan on hosting a proper funeral for the Divine Paragon. After all, it’d be weird if we don’t do one."
Yuan nodded, "Do as you please."
After chatting for several more hours, Yuan left the Demon Sealing Clan’s Grand Library alone.
Meanwhile, Yan Hara returned to her duties as the Demon Sealing Clan’s leader and began preparing for the Divine Paragon’s funeral. As for Selena, she went with Heaven’s Mandate to the Ninth Heaven to meet with the Celestial Emperor.
After leaving the Demon Sealing Clan’s Grand Library, Yuan returned to Tian Qiyuan’s personal world, where Helena, Angela, and Mu Xuelian were waiting.
"So, how did it go? Was it convincing enough?" Angela asked him.
He nodded with a smile, "More than enough."
Angela sighed before admitting, "Even though it was an act, when you ruptured your soul, it really startled me for a second. Your Soul Strength is too strong for a mere mortal. If I wasn’t prepared for it, I would’ve probably died to it."
"At least you weren’t forced to fight Selena. It’s been a while since I had such a fierce exchange with her," Helena shook her head.
"So, where’s Selena right now?" Angela then asked.
Yuan explained the situation and Selena’s whereabouts to them.
"The Celestial Emperor, huh? I wonder what she’s going to do," Helena muttered.
"As long as he doesn’t piss her off, it should be fine," said Angela.
Then, she turned to Yuan and continued, "I know you picked Selena to become the representative because you think she’s more reasonable and less aggressive than Helena and me, but you haven’t seen what she’s capable of when she’s angry."
Yuan raised an eyebrow at such words and inquired, "What’s she like when she’s angry?"
"You don’t want to find out."
"..."
Yuan became speechless for a moment before clearing his throat and speaking, "I... trust her."
A moment later, Yuan turned to look at a nearby individual and said, "Anyways, let’s go speak with our new friend."
He walked several meters before standing before a man who was currently restrained.
"How are you feeling, Qian Chu?" Yuan asked him with a smile.
Everyone at the banquet had witnessed Qian Chu being annihilated by Angela, but unbeknownst to them, the Qian Chu that had been killed was just an avatar created by Angela, much like Supreme Ruler Umbra, and the real one was very much still alive.
"Are you finally going to tell me why you kidnapped me instead of killing me?" Qian Chu asked calmly despite his situation.
"I have two reasons for sparing you... for now. Firstly, I’m interested in your goals. The other reason is that I want you to finish what you started and summon an ’Ancient’ for me."
"You can’t be serious..." Qian Chu stared at Yuan with widened eyes.
