Chapter 2466 Returning to the City of Blood
Chapter 2466 Returning to the City of Blood
"No matter what Qian Chu is planning, I will beat him at his own game and become the leader!" Yan Hara confidently declared, and her supporters loudly cheered.
Zhou Yanfei sighed.
"In any case, let's start preparing for the Demon Slaying Parade. There is also something I need to talk to you about."
"Is it regarding the Demon Sealers that have gone missing lately?" Yan Hara asked with a solemn face.
He nodded and said, "Our members have been disappearing in the same manner as those women abducted by the demons. As much as we'd like to keep everyone within the safety of our headquarters, we cannot simply ignore the chaos caused by the demon worshippers."
Yan Hara then said, "It's not just the Demon Sealing Grotto. Our members have also started disappearing recently."
"And they're mostly members who support Senior Yan!" One of her supporters said.
"Is it a coincidence, or is he…" Zhou Yanfei mumbled.
"Let us discuss this elsewhere," Yan Hara interrupted.
Zhou Yanfei nodded.
Moments later, Yan Hara and Zhou Yanfei went somewhere private to continue their discussion while the others went to prepare for the Demon Slaying Parade.
It didn't take long before news of Yan Hara challenging Qian Chu to the Demon Slaying Parade spread.
Although the Demon Sealing Clan had long since faded from relevance, the recent return of demons and the growing activity of demon worshippers had caused their name to surface once more.
"Fuck! Why the hell are the Demon Sealers messing around when the demons have returned?! If they want to fight, they should do it after dealing with the demons!"
"These Demon Sealers have completely forgotten their purpose after so many years of being inactive!"
"The Demon Worshippers destroyed my village recently! If the Demon Sealers weren't fighting amongst themselves, my family might have survived!" Because of the ongoing chaos, many outsiders questioned why they were fighting amongst themselves during such a critical time, with most of the criticism being directed toward Yan Hara for initiating the conflict.
Somewhere within Ninth Heaven, a tall, slender woman with long black hair approached a towering, broad-shouldered figure and asked, "Master, is it true that something is happening at the Demon Sealing Clan?"
"You also heard about it? Are you interested in the drama? How unusual for you, Meixiu."
Meixiu showed a slight smile and said, "I know someone who is closely related to them, after all. What is the Demon Slaying Parade that I heard about?"
"Sorry, but I don't know anything about the Demon Sealing Clan. However, I heard that it's an event which will be open to the public. Do you want to go? You have been training nonstop with barely any breaks for many years now," said Keling, her master.
Meixiu pondered for a moment before nodding her head, "I want to go."
In the Demonic Realm, after leaving Death Paradise, Yuan used Water Tunnel to travel to a part of the Blood Expanse that was closest to their destination.
"Where are we going, anyway?" Lev asked once they returned to the Crimson Continent.
"Blood Monastery," Yuan calmly replied.
"What? Isn't that the place where previous Supreme Rulers are honored? We're basically returning to the City of Blood. Do you think Supreme Ruler Grant has made it back yet?"
"I guess we'll find out once we get there."
Some time later, they returned to the City of Blood.
Before they'd left, their battle had reduced the entire city to ruins, filling its land with massive craters.
After they left, the Supreme Adviser brought its residents back and had them repair the city. With tens of millions of residents—many of them being in the Immortal Realm and False Gods—working on restoring the city at once, it didn't take long before they filled all of the craters and rebuilt the houses. Yet, the city looked nothing like it had in the past and basically had become an entirely new city.
"Hm? What are they doing?" Yuan asked out loud when he used his divine sense to sweep the city and noticed that pretty much the majority of its residents were gathered at the Supreme Ruler's headquarters.
Lev examined the situation for a moment before responding, "I believe it is a funeral… for the Supreme Ruler."
Yuan raised an eyebrow.
"Supreme Ruler Grant is dead? But he was alive when we parted," he muttered.
"Either they think he's dead, or it's actually meant for the Supreme Ancestor," Lev then said.
"Oh, right. I forgot about him," Yuan remarked with a chuckle.
"I don't want to disturb them, so let's wait until they are done."
"But the funeral usually lasts for a hundred ye—"
"We don't have time for that," Yuan interrupted before entering the city.
At the Supreme Ruler's headquarters, the Supreme Adviser was giving a speech to those gathered.
"We are gathered here today to honor and remember the Supreme Ancestor, our 13th Supreme Ruler—"
Shortly after the Supreme Adviser began his speech, two figures descended before him.
"Y-You are—!" The Supreme Adviser fell back on his buttocks from shock and fear after seeing Yuan's face.
"I'm back," Yuan calmly said.
"You may be back, but where is Supreme Ruler Grant?!" The Supreme Adviser began frantically looking around for Supreme Ruler Grant.
"Don't tell me you killed him!" When the Supreme Adviser could not find Supreme Ruler Grant, he instantly turned to Yuan and accused him of murdering the Supreme Ruler.
Yuan shook his head and said, "No, he should be on his way back here as we speak."
"..."
After a moment of silence, the Supreme Adviser asked him, "Then why have you returned? Can't you see that we're in the middle of a funeral?"
"Relax, we're not here to cause trouble. I am just here for the key to the Blood Monastery," Yuan replied. "The Blood Monastery?! Are you trying to desecrate the resting place of our Supreme Rulers?!" the Supreme Adviser exclaimed, staring at Yuan with a look of disbelief.
