Chapter 690 - 587: Strange Occurrences at the Academy and the Genius (Part 3)
Chapter 690: Chapter 587: Strange Occurrences at the Academy and the Genius (Part 3)
Jeming didn’t pay much attention.
The situation was indeed a bit strange, but it didn’t affect him personally.
From conversations with other wizards, there didn’t seem to be any issues.
So, the wizards who came to support quickly resumed their classes and research without any delay.
That day, Jeming had just finished a class on "Rune Optimization in Energy Conduction" and was ready to leave the classroom.
"Sir Jeming!"
A mentor hurriedly ran over from the end of the corridor, with a slightly anxious expression on his face.
Jeming stopped in his tracks: "What’s the matter?"
"Emergency meeting, please go to the meeting room now."
Jeming raised his eyebrow, didn’t ask more, and followed the person to the meeting room.
The meeting room was on the top floor of the academy’s main building, a hall that could accommodate hundreds of people.
When Jeming pushed the door open and entered, many people were already seated inside.
His gaze swept across, and his heart was slightly moved.
Most of those present were Fifth Level Wizards, roughly numbering around thirty or forty.
Two Sixth Level Wizards sat at the main seat — they were the highest combat strength in the academy besides Avery Knight.
With the Dean absent, this was essentially the current highest leadership of the academy.
Jeming spotted Seraphina in the crowd, she nodded at him, and Jeming responded before finding an empty spot in the Fifth Level Wizard area to sit down.
After a few more minutes, several Fifth Level Wizards arrived one after another.
One of the Sixth Level Wizards seated at the main position stood up.
An elder with grey hair and mustache, with a stern face, wearing a deep blue wizard robe.
"Most people are here, let’s begin."
The meeting room quieted down.
The elder’s gaze swept across the crowd, and he slowly began, "The reason for gathering everyone this time is because a genius has appeared among this year’s students of the academy."
Jeming initially thought it might be bad news, but hearing the word "genius" piqued his interest instead.
The elder continued, "This apprentice is a student of Rune Science from the Logistics Element, who discovered a special rune structure during research. Preliminary verification showed that this structure is quite useful even for Fourth Level Wizards."
A slight commotion arose in the meeting room.
Jeming was already aware.
A rune structure useful even for Fourth Level Wizards...
This implies that the student’s research achievement has surpassed the level of ordinary apprentices and reached a level that can truly affect the official wizards.
For the Wizard Academy, such matters aren’t rare.
After all, each academy is a collection of all the talented people across a plane community, with a large enough base, it’s normal for a few extraordinary talents to occasionally emerge.
But for Nolun No.147 Academy, this is indeed the first.
In nearly a thousand years since establishment, they finally produced a true genius.
"Exciting as it is, the necessary processes can’t be missed." The voice of the Sixth Level Wizard turned serious, "Next, a deep audit of this student is required."
Jeming nodded.
This is routine.
The audit isn’t to make things difficult for the student, but to ensure that this genius is a genuine wizard talent.
And not a spy sent by another civilization, or an unfortunate person who had their soul replaced by mysterious outsiders.
When he crafted Refined Gold, he had also been scrutinized like this.
"The audit covers several aspects," the Sixth Level Wizard began assigning tasks, "Soul-level audit requires checking whether the soul origin is pure and if there are any traces of modification or replacement."
A Fifth Level Wizard proficient in Soul Witchcraft nodded and accepted the task.
"Mental awareness audit requires checking the status of the Sea of Spirit to ensure there are no foreign spirit imprints."
Another wizard took on the task.
"Detection of anomalies in thought waves will be handled by several from the Illusion Magic System."
"Comparison of the situation in the homeland, send people to verify on the plane he originated from."
Tasks were assigned one by one.
Finally, the Sixth Level Wizard looked at Jeming.
"Sir Jeming, you are responsible for analyzing the academy’s stored public surveillance footage related to the student. Confirm if there is anything unusual in the student’s daily behavior."
Jeming nodded.
This task was simple for him.
With the calculation power provided by the Fate System as support, analyzing tens of thousands of surveillance segments wouldn’t take much time.
"Task allocation is complete." The Sixth Level Wizard stood up, "Everyone, proceed quickly. Once everything is confirmed, we’ll discuss the treatment for this apprentice."
People stood up and left successively.
Jeming stood up as well, preparing to return and retrieve the surveillance footage.
Seraphina, who had unknowingly walked up beside him, whispered, "Has Dean Avery Knight responded?"
Jeming shook his head, "No, but I asked the mentors, the workshop hasn’t had any issues recently. Since there’s nothing urgent, we’ll wait for his response slowly."
Seraphina nodded, said no more, and vanished into the shadows of the corridor.
(This is the Chapter for today, mainly because I’ve sort of forgotten the outline for what’s next.)
