Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 678 - 577: Aftermath

Chapter 678: Chapter 577: Aftermath

Ten years later.

Jeming stood inside a floating metal fortress, looking through the transparent porthole at the endless sea of light outside.

This is the Endless Light Domain—what wizards call the core area of the Information Plane.

After more than a decade of transformations, this once pure white world has undergone dramatic changes.

Countless metal structures float in the sea of light, with the runes of wizards and the light patterns of information creatures intertwining to create a bizarre yet harmonious sight.

The territory of the Information Plane is vast, but the information creatures cooperate exceptionally well.

Once the Supreme Consensus Algorithm decides to surrender, the entire species operates like a precise machine.

In just a few years, the transition work was basically completed.

What needed researching was being researched, what needed transferring was being transferred, what needed collaboration was being collaborated; everything was efficient to the point of indifference.

Jeming should have left over ten years ago.

But for certain reasons, he had to stay.

The Magic Network Terminal vibrated.

"Oh, it looks like it’s time."

Jeming glanced at it, turned away from the porthole, walked down a long corridor, and arrived in front of a huge metal door.

The door automatically opened, revealing a treatment room filled with medical pods.

Once, this place was full of people.

But now most of the pods were empty, with only a row in the deepest part showing weak lights, indicating there were people inside.

Jeming walked to one of the medical pods.

Inside lay a Fifth Level Wizard, eyes tightly shut, face calm, breathing steady, just like those silent wizards from before.

Or rather, this wizard was indeed in a state of static silence.

Jeming raised his hand and tapped a few times on the control panel next to the pod.

Moments later, the wizard inside opened his eyes.

At first, he was bewildered for a moment, then suddenly sat up, gasping for air.

He looked at his hands, then at the surroundings, his eyes gradually showing an incredulous expression.

"This..."

He clenched his fists, sensing something, and his face lit up with joy.

"My spiritual power... my strength in manipulating elements... increased by at least thirty percent!"

He turned his gaze to Jeming, his eyes full of gratitude.

"Thank you, Lord Jeming!"

Jeming waved his hand.

"No need to thank me, I’m just following the procedure. Besides..."

He smiled, pointing at the instrument panel next to him, "During your coma, the Expeditionary Army charges daily. I’m just drawing a salary."

The man was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"Worth it! Totally worth it!"

He flipped out of the medical pod, stretched his body, his smile impossible to hide.

Jeming checked the nearby data and nodded.

"Condition is stable, you can leave. Exit left for specific personnel to handle follow-up procedures."

"Alright!"

The man ran out elatedly, his steps so light it seemed he might fly.

Jeming watched his departing figure, then turned to look at the remaining medical pods, shaking his head helplessly.

These wizards in the static silence state weren’t the first batch.

In fact, after the information creatures surrendered, wizards quickly obtained the method to break the static silence from them.

So essentially, this matter should have ended here.

But the problem is...

The first batch of wizards waking up from static silence discovered their combat abilities had greatly improved.

Not just a little, but a qualitative leap.

Spiritual power more concentrated, their elemental perception sharper, casting speed faster...

The most important was an instinct from the Entropy Reduction Cycle: slightly absorbing external elements to their own manipulation instinct.

This was remarkable, considering the fundamental reason for wizard combat prowess is leveraging knowledge to amplify element output, making a single element exert a thousand times its power.

And this ability equivalently increased the "base" for mobilizing elements.

The earlier kinds, wizards could improve with resource consumption.

But this one, besides static silence, had no other way to improve.

Once the news spread, the entire Expeditionary Army was buzzing.

That "basic" improvement was precious!

Thus, what should have ended became a "silence craze."

Wizards began voluntarily requesting entry into static silence and subsequent awakening.

Unfortunately, Wizard Martin quickly began seclusion research after accepting the information creatures’ surrender.

He obtained the entropy reduction law he desired and needed time to digest it.

This retreat lasted over ten years.

And within the Expeditionary Army, besides Martin, Jeming unexpectedly knew the most about static silence.

After all, he had the Cultivation Immortality System’s foundational knowledge—a path inclined toward entropy reduction.

Moreover, during the virtual space pressure from the Supreme Consensus Algorithm, he attained enlightenment under life-and-death constraints, reaching a deep understanding of the Entropy Reduction Cycle.

Even deeper than many High Tier Wizards.

Thus, by collective High Tier Wizards’ commission, Jeming became the project leader of "static silence awakening."

This task took over ten years.

"Speaking of which..."

Jeming murmured to himself, "I should almost leave."

He walked to the next medical pod, about to proceed, when the door behind him automatically opened.

A faint sound of footsteps approached.

Jeming turned his head, seeing a gray-haired Seventh Level Wizard enter.

"Jeming."

"Alva senior."

Jeming nodded in greeting.

This Alva Wizard was one of the earliest participants in the Plane War with Martin.

Both hailed from the same Wizard Influence, considered Martin’s direct disciples.

In these past ten years, he had frequently visited.

Alva walked to Jeming’s side, glancing at the remaining medical pods.

"Did more wake up?"

"Just one left," Jeming gestured to the door, "Five remaining, expected to awaken by this week."

Alva nodded, patting Jeming’s shoulder.

"You’ve worked hard these ten years."

Jeming shook his head.

"It’s not exhausting; I’ve gained a lot too."

This was the truth.

The process of helping others awaken from static silence was also a form of learning for him.

Each awakening let him understand the Entropy Reduction Cycle’s operation more deeply and perceive the subtle changes in wizards’ Sea of Spirit during silence.

Over ten years, the experience he accumulated was deep enough that even High Tier Wizards were impressed.

Alva smiled, not indulging in further pleasantries.

"When will you leave?"

Jeming paused, then laughed.

"Is it that obvious?"

"You started pushing work out since last year; who wouldn’t notice?" Alva teased, "If not for us old folks helping share your load, you’d be overwhelmed by those waiting for silence."

Jeming felt a bit embarrassed:

"It’s settled. Once these few awaken, I’ll leave."

He looked outside at that endless sea of light, his tone calm.

"Over these ten years, the seniors have learned enough too. If any wizard wants to initiate silence, with your capabilities, it’s easy to recover."

Alva nodded, then asked, "Are you sure you don’t want to try silence yourself?"

Jeming paused, then smiled and shook his head.

"Not needed."

He explained, "In the process of helping others recover, I’ve gained a lot as well. Now... hitting the limit."

Alva looked at him, asking no further.

Reaching their level, they understood what "limit" meant.

Not a bottleneck but simply "unable to progress under current circumstances."

"Alright." Alva patted his shoulder, "Since you’ve decided, go ahead. With us old folks watching, nothing will go wrong here."

Jeming nodded, turned, and continued towards the next medical pod.
