Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 651 - 553: Mission

Chapter 651: Chapter 553: Mission

Jeming stood where he was, watching the figures of those High Tier Wizards swiftly vanish into various parts of the Ship Plane.

From afar there still came the rumbling of chaotic Energy, along with the exclamations and angry shouts of Wizards in other sectors.

It looked like the range affected by that wave of assault just now was even larger than he had imagined.

"The Expeditionary Army probably hasn’t encountered an invasion of this scale before."

Jeming withdrew his gaze, rapidly analyzing in his heart.

If something like this had happened before, the Ship Plane’s defenses wouldn’t be reacting in such a panicked, disorganized way.

Those High Tier Wizards also wouldn’t be rushing over to support only now.

And the timing of the attacks they each suffered was a bit too perfectly synchronized.

This meant...

This time those information creatures had clearly come with a premeditated plan.

Jeming lowered his head to look at his own hand, as if there was still a faint trace of gorgeous mist lingering at his fingertips.

That was the Incense Fire Poison he had accidentally gotten on him earlier. It had already been thoroughly cleansed by the Fate System, but that eerie aura still remained vivid in his memory.

"Why is the Incense Fire Poison so effective?"

Jeming frowned.

The essence of Incense Fire Poison was nothing more than the malicious thoughts, obsessions, and grievances of billions of beings mixed together into garbage information.

In terms of complexity, it was indeed higher than ordinary information turbulence, but aren’t creatures of the Information Plane supposed to be the best at handling information?

It’s just a pile of junk data—did they really need to react that violently?

To be honest, Jeming used the Incense Fire Poison mostly to vent his anger and disgust the enemy a little.

But judging from the other side’s reaction, it was a bit too extreme.

"Interesting."

Jeming marked this question in his mind, deciding that when he had the chance in the future, he must dig into it thoroughly.

But now wasn’t the time to think.

He turned and walked toward the core area of the camp.

Along the way, Wizards were busy everywhere.

Some were repairing the damaged Protective Arrays, some were treating comrades who had fallen into silence, and others were staring at the rifts in the sky with tense faces, afraid that the next wave of attacks would suddenly descend.

Jeming extended his Spiritual Power, starting to help fix those Runes that had been tampered with.

His attainments in Alchemy and Rune Science were not low; doing this kind of Rune repair came easily to him.

Piece by piece, the chaotic Runes were straightened out by him, and those Energy circuits that had been flashing crazily gradually stabilized.

He was busy like this for more than half a day.

When all the Arrays finally returned to normal, Jeming stood up and moved his somewhat stiff neck.

Then he heard a number that made him frown.

"Another three thousand seven hundred Silent Ones."

A Wizard in charge of statistics announced the figure with a dark expression.

Jeming glanced at the newly added medical pods at the edge of the camp—there were so many they were almost packed together.

The Wizards lying inside them were breathing steadily, their faces calm, but everyone knew they wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.

The atmosphere grew exceptionally heavy.

At this moment, a wave of pressure descended from the sky.

A Sixth Level Wizard hovered in midair, his gaze sweeping over everyone present.

"From now on, all probing actions must be conducted within designated areas."

He raised a hand and drew a line in the air; a huge light screen unfolded, marked with a detailed map of the Ship Plane.

Several red circles were marked out, scattered across various parts of the Ship Plane.

"These areas will be equipped with specialized Defense Arrays. Anyone who wants to continue probing can only deploy expendable units within these zones. When an invasion is encountered, the Array will immediately isolate the signals, preventing a repeat of what happened today."

Having said that, the figure of this High Tier Wizard vanished.

Jeming looked at those red circles and noticed that one of them wasn’t far from his current position.

At the same time, a task regarding the construction of the related Arrays popped up on Jeming’s Magic Network Terminal.

Without another word, he flew straight in that direction.

When he arrived, quite a number of Wizards were already busy there.

Runes were being inscribed into the ground one after another, and massive Energy nodes were being set up.

As soon as Jeming landed, he joined in.

He brought a few Black Giant Priests with him and began setting up the defensive structures he was good at within that area.

In the midst of the bustle, a Wizard suddenly walked up to him.

"Lord Jeming? Lord Martin requests your presence."

Jeming lifted his head, a little surprised.

He handed over his current work to the Black Giant Priests and left with that Wizard.

Passing through several temporarily erected Energy Barriers, Jeming was brought to a relatively quiet area.

Martin was standing ahead, his back to him, gazing at the enormous black rift in the distance.

"You’re here?"

Martin turned around, a faint, rare smile appearing on his face.

"Wizard Martin..."

"No need for formalities." He raised a hand to stop Jeming from saluting. "I have some history with Clark. Just call me ’senior.’"

Jeming nodded. "Senior Martin."

Martin looked at Jeming, a trace of appreciation in his eyes.

"You did well in that assault just now."

Jeming didn’t act modest; he simply listened quietly.

Martin went on, "I noticed that method of yours that can enhance Calculation Power. It not only helps you resist the invasion, it can also easily link into other Wizards’ Calculation Power systems."

Jeming’s heart stirred.

He more or less understood why Martin had called him over.

"Can this method be promoted?"

Martin asked the question straightforwardly.

"If we can let more Wizards have this ability, we can stack everyone’s Calculation Power together. By then, when facing those information creatures, we won’t be as passive as we were today."

Hearing this, Jeming’s mind raced.

Rolling out the Fate System... was indeed feasible.

In fact, it wouldn’t be that difficult. Without exposing core technologies, he only needed to set up receiving altars at some critical nodes and grant Wizards within a specified range temporary permissions to call upon a portion of the Fate System’s Calculation Power.

The advantages of doing this were obvious.

Wizards advocate equivalent exchange. Although this "Heart of Ashes" Martin hadn’t spelled everything out, Jeming knew very well that if he could solve this problem, he would definitely get quite a reward.

Various intelligence, Low Level Military Merits, materials and such went without saying; he might even earn some High Level Military Merits.

Secondly...

Jeming couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.

The Fate System right now had only been preliminarily constructed. To keep improving, it needed continuous algorithm updates and architecture optimization.

And when those Wizards borrowed the Fate System’s Calculation Power, their algorithmic logic, usage habits, processing methods, and algorithm choices when dealing with all kinds of scenarios would all be quietly recorded by the Fate System.

In other words...

The more people used it, the more the Fate System would learn.

"It’s doable."

Jeming raised his head and met Martin’s gaze.

"But it will take some time to set up."

Martin nodded. "Whatever resources you need, just ask."

"I’ll assign a group of Sixth Level Logistics Wizards to assist you."

Jeming: "Understood!"

The two of them briefly discussed some details of the setup, then Jeming took his leave.

When he returned to that red-circle area, more than a dozen Sixth Level Wizards were already waiting there.

"Lord Jeming, Lord Martin sent us to assist you."

The leading female Wizard saluted respectfully.

Jeming nodded and didn’t waste words, starting to assign tasks directly.

"We need to construct an altar here. This is the general structure and required materials—find people to build it."

"You few, you’re in charge of setting up the Energy nodes."

...

Very soon, this area became a scene of intense activity.
