Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 649 - 551: Probing (2)

Chapter 649: Chapter 551: Probing (2)

The inside of the Information Plane was entirely a sea of light.

Here, space seemed to have lost its three-dimensional meaning, replaced by endless, pulsing, flickering streams of light.

Ten days flew by in a rush.

Jeming sat in the lab shaped by Alchemy, staring at the ten light screens in front of him, brows tightly furrowed.

The Black Giant Priests were moving rapidly through the sea of light within the Information Plane.

But no matter how they advanced, the surroundings were always a pure white void—no direction, no boundary, and no living thing.

"Where are those Indigenous People?"

Jeming frowned.

By rights, the earlier probing by the Wizard Legion had made quite a commotion, and they hadn’t particularly tried to conceal their existence.

Even a relatively primitive civilization, faced with that kind of disturbance, ought to at least send someone over to see what was going on.

Yet after more than ten days, the Black Giant Priests had practically turned the nearby region upside down, and hadn’t seen even a shadow.

As if the previous probing hadn’t drawn any attention from the other side at all.

Jeming picked up a cup of tea synthesized by Alchemy, took a sip, and continued staring at the light screens.

Finally, on the thirteenth day, there was a change.

In the image, a blurry cluster of light appeared in the distance.

Jeming instantly sat up straight, casually tossing the teacup in his hand aside.

"Get close to it."

He issued the command through the Fate System.

The ten Black Giant Priests adjusted their direction at the same time, slowly closing in on that light cluster.

As the distance shortened, the image grew clearer and clearer.

It was indeed an Indigenous Person.

Its form was extremely abstract—like a mass of condensed light, with no fixed outline. At its edges, fine threads of light continually drifted outward and then drew back into its body.

Its overall color was a translucent milky white, with an occasional flash of pale golden light.

No facial features, no limbs, not even a clear "front" or "back."

It simply floated there in the sea of light, motionless, as if asleep, yet also as if waiting for something.

Jeming narrowed his eyes at the Indigenous Person’s image on the screen.

From the outside, this thing matched perfectly the light-beings described in the intel.

But only by seeing it with his own eyes could he feel that eerie strangeness...

Because the feeling it gave off wasn’t like a living being at all, neither "alive" nor "dead."

It was as if it simply "existed" there.

"Probe it."

Jeming gave the order.

The ten Black Giant Priests simultaneously accelerated, roaring as they charged toward that Indigenous Person.

The black liquid Metal on their surfaces churned, Time Acceleration Force Fields fully opened, and in the blink of an eye they crossed hundreds of kilometers.

Faced with such a huge disturbance, that Indigenous Person moved as well.

But it didn’t unleash any attack, nor did it raise any Shield.

It just stood where it was, the light on its surface rippling slightly.

Like ripples spreading across the surface of water.

Then...

The ten light screens in front of Jeming plunged into darkness at the same time.

Jeming’s pupils suddenly contracted.

"What happened?!"

He shot to his feet, both hands braced on the lab bench, staring fixedly at the pitch-black screens.

The connection to the Fate System had already been cut, which meant the life signatures of the ten Black Giant Priests had all vanished.

In an instant.

Without even a chance to resist.

Jeming took a deep breath and quickly calmed himself.

He closed his eyes, sank his consciousness into the Fate System, and began to trace back what those ten Black Giant Priests had just experienced.

The Fate System’s information channel was not just a tool for assisting data processing; it also automatically recorded all information that passed through it—in terms of the Cultivation Immortality Realm, it could display the past and present lives of all living beings under one’s command.

So Jeming was now searching for the information records at the moment of death of those ten Black Giant Priests.

Soon, a stream of data floated up in Jeming’s mind, letting him "see" everything that had just happened.

In the Black Giants’ field of view, that Indigenous Person still only had the light on its surface ripple once, seemingly without any other action.

But from the Fate System’s record, at that same moment, an extremely subtle information stream had surged into the cores of the ten Black Giant Priests.

That information stream precisely locked onto the Energy balance formula deep in each Priest’s Soul core.

In order to achieve Fusion of the Magma Giant and Yeti Talent Abilities, Jeming had designed an extremely exquisite core structure for the Black Giants—multiple Elemental Energies counterbalancing and Transforming each other, forming a dynamic balance system.

And what that information stream did was modify several key parameters in the balance formula.

Once the balance was broken, the Energy backflow would spiral out of control in an instant.

Like lightly nudging a weight on an exquisitely calibrated scale.

And then...

Ten scales toppled at the same time.

Energy backflow, core collapse, self-detonation.

No external attack—pure "suicide."

After watching this record, Jeming couldn’t help but knit his brows even tighter.

"Directly reading core information... and then modifying it..."

He muttered to himself, his face turning extremely grim.

What did this imply?

It implied that any construct built on Rune arrays and Energy formulas was transparent in front of these Indigenous People.

They could directly "see" the core structure, then locate the most fragile spot, give it a gentle tap, and make the entire system self-destruct.

"Then what about my Fire Extinction Divine Light?"

"What about Ruins Armor?"

Several thoughts flashed through Jeming’s mind.

Even though those Magics had been modified, their underlying logic was still the arrangement and combination of Elemental Energy. If the other side really could see through everything...

"No, the previous intel showed quite a few Wizards killing enemies with Witchcraft. Not all constructs are cracked."

Jeming quickly found the key point: "So my earlier guess is very likely correct. The counter-strike level of this race when facing attacks also depends on the information complexity contained in the attack."

"But we still can’t be careless. Judging from how fast the Black Giant Priests collapsed, if a construct is merely large in information volume and complex in structure, yet has relatively obvious flaws inside, it’ll still be easy to break."

Just as Jeming was analyzing, a powerful sense of crisis suddenly descended.

The hairs on Jeming’s body stood on end.

He sensed it—something was reverse-invading along the Fate System’s signal channel!

That Indigenous Person!

While reading the Black Giant Priests’ core information, it had captured the observation signal bands lingering on them, as well as that information channel connecting to Jeming’s body.

Now it was following that channel, hacking across space directly at him!

Jeming had no time to think. A dazzling golden light burst from the center of his brows.

The Fate System went into full operation.

In the next instant, two information streams collided in the void.

Jeming felt as if he were immersed in a sea of data—countless fragments of information madly devouring around him.

The information stream transmitted by that Indigenous Person carried a strange "activity," trying to parse his core and search for his weak points.

But the Fate System was no easy prey.

As a subsystem of the Incense Fire Divine Dao that existed specifically to handle information, it now displayed terrifying Calculation Power.

Jeming felt as if countless extra hands had appeared in his mind, every one of them processing the invading information at an unbelievable speed.

Disassembling, recombining, suppressing, counterattacking.

When Jeming came back to himself, he found he had already firmly suppressed the other party’s information stream.

He could even faintly sense the Indigenous Person’s location along that channel.

"Got you..."

A cold light flashed in Jeming’s eyes as he prepared to launch a counterattack.

However, just as he was about to move, that information stream abruptly snapped.

The other side had voluntarily cut the connection.

Jeming froze for a moment, then clicked his tongue in annoyance, his face full of displeasure.

"Felt things weren’t going well and bolted?"

He stared at the still pitch-black screens, as if he could see that Indigenous Person.

"I’ll have to learn that trick sooner or later."

Jeming ground out the words between his teeth.

"Then I’ll let you have a taste of being hacked into!"

Before the words had fully fallen...

The entire Ship Plane suddenly blared with a piercing alarm.

The sound had an extremely powerful penetrative force, as if it were exploding directly in the depths of everyone’s Mental core.

The walls of the lab where Jeming was shook, and the tables and chairs shaped by Alchemy let out faint cracking sounds.

Jeming jerked his head toward the window.
