Chapter 600 - 512: The Formidable Foe as Expected
Chapter 600: Chapter 512: The Formidable Foe as Expected
After patiently waiting for a moment, Jeming slowly opened his eyes, a flash of cold light in them.
Maintaining his phase space state, he silently "glided" to directly above that huge boulder, within arm’s reach of the seated figure below.
Then, he suddenly exploded into action!
The "separation" state of phase space was actively解除, and Jeming’s figure burst out as if leaping up from underwater, appearing on the main Plane in an instant!
When phase space was解除, the violently suppressed Spatial Shearing Force generated by the interlacing of the two spatial layers did not calm and dissipate; instead, he forcibly guided and gathered it along the edge of his palm with his powerful Spiritual Power!
[Spatial Slash]!
A fine, pitch-black fissure that seemed capable of cutting through the world’s baseline followed the swing of Jeming’s palm, silently slashing toward the figure below who had just been jolted awake by the violent spatial fluctuations!
Although that Soul System Wizard was on guard because of the anomaly just now, precisely because all his attention was focused on the possible presence of a Soul System Wizard, he clearly didn’t expect an attack to come in such a traceless way, directly tearing space itself, from almost point-blank right above his head!
More importantly, he clearly hadn’t expected to be discovered at all!
His seated figure shuddered violently, and at least seven layers of Shields and barriers of different colors and natures instantly flared up around him—some deflecting perception, some canceling Energy, some directly hardening space in an attempt to block the attack.
But the cutting power of Spatial Slash stems from the dislocation and rending of the spatial structure itself; it "skips" the confrontation process with most conventional Energy and material defenses.
Ssshhh!!!
Like a hot knife sinking into congealed fat.
The pitch-black fissure treated those Shields as if they didn’t exist, flashing through them.
The horror and disbelief on the Soul System Wizard’s face froze in an instant.
His body, along with the Soul structure within, was silently bisected vertically down the middle by that spatial fissure.
The cut surface was smooth as a mirror; even the blood didn’t have time to spray before it was annihilated by the chaotic Spatial Power along the fissure’s edge.
However, the dying counterattack of a Fifth Level Soul Wizard was by no means to be underestimated!
In the final instant before his consciousness was completely annihilated, from within that split Soul structure, a formless, terrifying Psychic Shock condensed from his lifetime of Spiritual Power and the resentment of Death surged out like a dam bursting, mixed with shrill Soul Scream, jumbled memory fragments, and vicious Curse, erupting without reservation toward Jeming, who was right at arm’s length!
Even though Jeming had been on guard, this nearly tangible Spiritual Power impact even produced a physical effect.
The horrific shock made his figure inevitably stall for a split second.
And in that split second of stagnation...
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
Dozens of silhouettes that had long been lying in ambush behind nearby rock pillars, under the sand, and even in midair suddenly manifested from all directions.
After a moment of shock, they launched a saturation strike at the position where Jeming was!
At least more than twenty Fifth Level Wizards struck at the same time, and the radiance of all kinds of Witchcraft instantly drowned and detonated the small area where Jeming stood!
The rock was vaporized, the sand fused into glass, the spatial structure shook violently, kicking up a sky-covering cloud of Energy smoke and dust.
Clearly, Blake had been right.
This Soul System Wizard did have teammates, and they had long been lurking around; the moment he found a trace of the enemy, they launched a lethal combined strike!
However, before the smoke could disperse—
A calm voice cut clearly through the fading roar of explosions and the howling Energy turbulence:
"That’s it?"
The faces of the other Fifth Level Wizards present changed drastically at the words. They were just about to react, but it was already a bit too late.
Dark-gold light, like sunlight tearing through dark clouds, lanced out from the rolling smoke and dust!
The twelve Fire Floating Cannons behind Jeming, already primed, opened fire.
Under the continuous release of the Witchcraft Artifacts, the twelve beams did not immediately dissipate after firing; the dark-golden beams seemed to transform into twelve Light Sabers forged from pure Destructive Energy!
"Aaaah!!!"
Screams erupted where the beams swept past.
A Chaos Secret Sect Wizard who had just revealed his figure from behind a rock pillar and was preparing to unleash a second volley of Witchcraft was sliced in half at the waist by a beam, his upper body vaporizing in an instant.
Another Wizard from the Tower of Annihilation who had raised an ice Shield was "skimmed" by a beam together with his Shield; the Shield shattered, and his entire body turned into a mixture of Ice Crystal and dust...
Jeming’s figure emerged from the center of the gradually dispersing smoke.
He was shrouded in the immovable field of the Ruins Armor; that wave of saturation firepower that could easily kill a Fifth Level Wizard had only caused the field’s radiance to ripple slightly before the Ruins Armor, not even damaging the corner of his robe.
His gaze was calm, his Spiritual Power like an invisible network precisely controlling the twelve Floating Cannons.
The muzzles, guided by his will, moved and swept continuously like the hands of Death’s clock.
The unending Fire Extinction Divine Light plowed through every coordinate where attacks had erupted just now, as well as every area that might conceal an enemy, with streams of dark-golden Annihilation!
Screams rose in succession, then were quickly snuffed out.
The exposed ambushers tried to flee, defend, or counterattack, but under the relentless, terrifyingly powerful Fire beams, all resistance seemed pale and feeble.
In just a few breaths, more than half of the ambushers had turned to ash.
The remaining enemies were utterly terrified by this roaming natural disaster of firepower; in panic, they scattered in all directions, desperate only to escape this death zone.
There was no way Jeming would let them have their wish.
The Floating Cannons’ muzzles tracked the fleeing figures as if alive, the dark-golden beams like maggots on rotting bone, about to complete the final harvest.
At this moment...
A heavy, vast, oppressively terrifying aura descended from some direction in the Gobi like a tangible mountain!
The immense pressure crashed down like a suddenly dropped ocean, instantly covering the entire area!
Space seemed to grow viscous; both enemy and ally Wizards in flight all faltered in their movements.
The lingering smoke and Energy turbulence quickly calmed and settled under this pressure.
Jeming’s heart sank. He halted the Floating Cannons’ attack for the moment, his cold gaze turning toward the direction the pressure came from.
On the distant horizon, a figure was flying through the air at a speed that seemed slow, yet was actually pushed to the extreme.
The newcomer was tall, wearing the Tower of Annihilation’s signature black robe edged with dark silver.
His face was hidden in the hood’s shadow; only a pair of eyes, like two burning dark-red coals, locked firmly onto Jeming across the vast distance.
Seemingly having confirmed Jeming’s identity, that unmasked, towering power belonging to a Sixth Level Wizard surged like a tidal wave.
The real formidable enemy had arrived.
