Chapter 2250: Learning About the Ancient Formation.
"An ancient formation related to the Dao of Space?"
"Yes, we both ended up trapped inside of it for quite some time before successfully managing to escape by taking advantage of its collapse. If not, we might not have been able to get out on our own. After all, according to the people we ended up encountering along the way during our escape from the collapsing formation, even someone at the Celestial Immortal Realm was incapable of escaping once they entered the ancient formation.
Although, according to some, these people at least had some ability to navigate from the outer edge of the ancient formation we were trapped inside of towards the inner section of the ancient formation. Still, even with this, none of those who entered the ancient formation found a way out. At least not someone who shared this information, though given how the ancient formation was treated as a dead zone to be avoided, its doubtful someone ever managed to secretly find a safe way back out of the ancient formation."
"I see, that is indeed interesting..." Nodding his head as Chun Hua gave a bit more in-depth explanation of what the two of them had encountered in the Western Central Region along with what they had managed to learn about the ancient formation that had trapped the two of them, Xuan Hao couldn’t help feeling a bit interested in this ancient formation that primarily utilized the Dao of Space.
Feeling it might be a good idea for him to pay a visit to the Western Central Region to check out this ancient formation now that he didn’t have to worry about the monks of the Western Central Region any longer after the quick meeting with one of their senior monks who had made it clear that the Temples of the Western Central Region had no plan of engaging in a battle with the Star Shattering Sect.
On the contrary, these temples had only attacked him because they had thought he had been someone from the Southern Central Region. Indicating to him that there was a very real possibility he would be able to make use of these temples in the future to help alleviate pressure from the Southern Central Region when they finished their little struggle and had the time to pay attention to the world outside the Southern Central Region.
Not just that but given how there was still a few months before the people from the Myriad Treasure Hall would be showing up again to finish the trade that had been set up with them, he didn’t really have anything pressing to do outside of focusing on carving his second dao rune.
But... From what little experience he now had when it came to carving Dao Runes into his dao lotus- or rather the small sun that had formed inside his internal world, it was clear that a deeper understanding of the Dao directly helped make the carving process of the dao rune smoother and easier. Meaning the deeper one’s comprehension of the Dao was, the easier it would become to carve Dao Runes into one’s dao lotus.
And given how it was pretty clear that he wouldn’t be able to successfully reach the Peak of the Star Creation Realm, let alone breakthrough to the Venerable Realm above that, before the ancient dao runes broke apart, he understood that the only real path to successfully breaking through in time required him to increase his comprehension of the different Daos he had comprehended so far.
Thereby increasing his overall carving speed of dao runes and making his progress through the Star Creation Realm faster.
Event though it was doubtful he would be able to increase his comprehension of the Dao of Space much given how he had already managed to reach the Origin Realm in the Dao of Space, he could rely on his current profound comprehension of the Dao of Space to assist his comprehension of the Dao of Formation if he had something like an ancient formation made utilizing the Dao of Space as the main dao subordinate to the Dao of Formations.
For this reason alone, after learning a bit more about the situation of the Western Central Region and the formation that Qing Yi and Chun Hua had encountered, he didn’t hesitate before he set off towards the Western Central Region. Intending to use this trip to deepen his comprehension of the Dao of Formations.
If possible, he also wanted to use the opportunity to deepen his understanding of other Daos, as he doubted such a complex formation only included the Dao of Space as its main source. Outside of this one Dao, there would undoubtedly be several other Daos that had been used in tandem with the Dao of Space to create such a complex formation.
At the same time, he was also wondering if he could use this opportunity to gauge the strength of the Star Creation Realm cultivators from the Southern Central Region. Knowing that the collapse of a formation at the size of what his two disciples had described would be enormous. Not just alerting the senior figures within the Western Central Region, but also the few major powers located along the borders of the Western Central Region.
After all, the ancient formation itself wasn’t located in the heart of the Western Central Region where it might have been hard to sense for those senior figures at the Star Creation Realm inside the Southern Central Region.
Instead, it was located within the Yellow Peak Region, a small region within the Western Central Region that didn’t just border the Southern Central Region, but funnily enough also bordered the Northern Central Region at some places.
Meaning that outside of powerful cultivators from the Southern Central Region showing up, there was a good chance that the commotion of the ancient formation collapsing would also end up attracting a few powerful figures from the Northern Central Region.
Of course, with the overall strength of the Northern Central Region and the simple fact it had been cut in half thanks to the demonic cultivators from the Frozen Wastelands, there was a good chance the people showing up from the Northern Central region would at most be a few Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators between the Early and Middle Stage of the realm. Nothing like the Land Creation and Star Creation Realm cultivators he expected to encounter from the Southern Central Region side- and not just traditional immortal cultivators, but also the different churches equivalent of the Land Creation and Star Creation Realm...
"Huh? Master left...?"
"Well... Wasn’t this what you wanted by telling mater about the ancient formation?"
"That wasn’t it! I had some questions I wanted to ask before he left regarding my cultivation!"
"Ah? Ah! Me too! How could I forget that!?"
And as their master left only shortly after hearing about the collapsing ancient formation in the Western Central Region, Qing Yi and Chun Hua were both left behind in a somewhat bewildered and distraught state.
Both had forgotten to take the opportunity while their master was still around to ask him the question they wanted about their cultivation.
Not that either of them blamed their master for this, both understanding there was no time for their master to wait given how the ancient formation had already been collapsing when they had successfully managed to escape it and close to a month had passed since they successfully escaped from that ancient formation.
Sure, a formation at such a scale took a long time to collapse, but close to a month had already passed and it was doubtful it was still standing.
If their master wanted to get anything out of the ancient formation, he would have to set out immediately, as there were undoubtedly others competing with him for the ancient formation and whatever would be left behind following its collapse.
Sure, their master might only be interested in comprehending the framework of the ancient formation, but others who had come looking for treasures wouldn’t think so.
In the end, the two of them could only blame themselves for being too eager to share this information with their master before asking for guidance.
In any case, their master wouldn’t be gone for too long and they would be able to ask him about their troubles when he got back.
In the meantime, the two of them decided to spend their time checking up on their fellow disciples while also planning to see the Alchemy Hall and how well the elders at that place were doing now that the Blacksmithing Hall had expanded beyond the boundaries of the Shattered Star Peaks in such a bold manner.
Understandably, both were curious about what plans the Alchemy Elders of the sect had for the Alchemy Hall to not get left behind by the Blacksmithing Hall. Knowing there was no way those elders would tolerate being left behind like they had just been with the Blacksmithing Hall’s expansion in to the Iron Sky Kingdom.
