Commanding Wind and Cloud

Chapter 394

Chapter 394: Power = Respect Everywhere

It took at least a special ability to win the favor of Snake Emperor! York Leigh stroked his chin. “What kind of special ability does Qian Jin have? Why he is so appreciated by such a big shot?”

“And… rumor has it that the Hydra Bloodline Family has formed a strong alliance with Qian Jin.”

Clang…

The porcelain cup was finally dropped. The hand that had been holding it now trembled… The dinner thing could be attributed to the personal preference of Pam Honzi. But the whole family signed an agreement with Qian Jin? It was totally different from kids’ game.

“I see…” York Leigh’s mind went blank. He waved his hand to dismiss the messenger. “Alright, leave me alone… I need a moment…”

Pam Honzi, the Hydra Bloodline, Qian Jin, allies and his bed-ridden wife…

His brain was going to explode! He had never been troubled in such a mess as the Mayor!

“Gee!” For a minute, York Leigh wished to rush into the room and strangle that troublemaker in bed.

It was only because of her! He would never have such a quarrel with Qian Jin and he would never feel so embarrassed! Naturally, he would not be at a loss as to what to do, like he was now.

“That’s terrible… that kid…” York Leigh got up and paced back and forth in the room. He had seen enough promising young people all his life. But a strange one like Qian Jin? It was the first time.

Fabreidis, the Saint Warrior, was so kind to Qian Jin that some people thought maybe the young man was a love-child. And now even the Snake Emperor…

“Your Highness, you have a visitor….”

The housekeeper reported at the door like a frightened mouse. “It’s the president of the Torrent Battle Fort, Marc Gavin.”

“Who is it? Marc Gavin?”

Finally, a hint of a smile appeared on the gloomy face. Standing in the lobby, York Leigh felt like there was going to have a sweet shower after a long drought. Help came not an instant too soon.

He had never liked Marc Gavin as much as he did now. He would give him a great big kiss if he were not that unattractive…

“Your Highness, Your Highness…” Walking into the Mayor’s mansion, Marc Gavin yelled as hard as he could to make himself heard by everyone. “Marc Gavin, from the Torrent Battle Fort, is here to apologize…”

Hearing those words, York Leigh secretly decided to try to smack that bear on the cheek. Suddenly, he felt the pain in his temples had died down.

At the top of his harsh voice, Marc Gavin was pretty sure that even the passers-by outside the mansion would know that the president of Torrent Battle Fort had rung the doorbell of the Mayor’s and apologized in person.

The irritable mayor finally calmed down a little bit. Though he knew clearly Marc Gavin was only pretending to do this, the well-known apology, after all, had saved his face. He would never have let it go like this if it had been others…

But, it was Qian Jin!

This young man had hung out and had dinner every night with Pam Honzi, made himself an ally to the Hydra, and inflicted heavy losses on several Qian Bloodline Warriors.

York Leigh would pay respect to the person that was capable of any of the three deeds, But someone who was capable of all of them?

“Marc, brother, come on in…” As the guest was invited in, the housekeeper carried a teapot up, trying to pour him a cup of tea…

“Don’t bother with the cup…” Marc Gavin snatched the delicate teapot, pouring himself a mouthful of water through the spout. “That’s how I have tea.”

Oh, no! York Leigh wailed with grief in his heart. He had been thinking all about Qian Jin just now! He was sure that Marc Gavin would only show up in person for that young man. But he forgot a notorious habit of this president of the Torrent Battle Fort.

He liked collecting teapots!

York Leigh would have specifically told the housekeeper to take his favorite teapot away every time the man had come to his place. But this time… Alas!

“Your Highness, I believe you have been informed about the tragic event that happened earlier this morning, right?” Forcing out a grieved expression, the president sneaked the teapot into his Warrior Dimension. “Qian Jin is too young. I have already given him a good scolding.”

In fact, York Leigh would very much like to ask how this caring elder scold Qian Jin had. With a gourmet meal or a popular girl in the brothel? Maybe Qian Jin had had a long talk with her about the vision of life and how he had licked the Mayor’s wife?

“Is that so?” York Leigh pretended a smile. “I have heard of this. My wife, what she did was also not that appropriate…”

Snap!

Marc Gavin slapped his thigh and laughed. “I always said that Your Highness has a penetrating insight! That’s true, they were both at fault.”

The mayor was stunned. How could he forget the man in front was the cheekiest he had ever seen? Sophistry was his strength. Let alone this time he was the man in the right.

“Well, although it is your wife that should take most of the blame…” The bear took over another teapot and drank as leisurely as he could…

York Leigh rolled his eyes. Was this bear really here to apologize? Wasn’t he here to quarrel or fight? Or he had just planned to say some ironic remarks?

“Qian Jin, after all, did something wrong.” Marc Gavin put down the teapot and said, “So, he wished to come and apologize.”

York Leigh was surprised to hear this. He hadn’t expected an apology from Qian Jin. But an apology seemed not enough…

“Your Highness,” Marc Gavin lowered down his voice and whispered to the Mayor, “Don’t you want to know how Fabreidis became a Saint Warrior?”

York Leigh was refreshed by the question. He had been thinking about this since Fabreidis had managed to accomplish it. Saint Warrior transformation demanded too much and he didn’t even have a Soul Weapon.

“It’s Qian Jin.” Marc Gavin said quietly. “Tell you what? He is a real Forge Grandmaster who can make Soul Weapons.”

York Leigh sat stiffly on the spot. His brain was buzzing as if millions of bees were flying in it.

Soul Weapon? Qian Jin could make Soul Weapons? York Leigh’s pupils dilated. How old was he? Forge Grandmaster? No way!

Thinking about all he had heard of in this short moment, York Leigh looked blankly at the floor.

York Leigh nodded at this possibility. He secretly thought in his heart, “Qian Jin is exceptionally strong, but in this Bloodline Warrior era, he has to have something to impress the Snake Emperor. No wonder rumor has it that he has forged a Warrior Weapon in a few minutes at the Torrent Battle Fort. I didn’t believe it at first, but now it seems to be true!”

Especially since Qian Jin was barely in his twenties. There was a great chance that he would be a Supreme Blacksmith in the future! Even better… York Leigh found his head fuzzy and his breath labored when thinking Qian Jin might become a God-tier Blacksmith Master.

Looking at the changing face of York Leigh, Marc Gavin knew the Mayor had bought the story. It was not that difficult for him to know about the Warrior Weapon Qian Jin had forged this morning.

What’s more, the Mayor would never leak the information. Becoming a Saint Warrior was his fervent wish just like any other ordinary warrior. He cared more about this than his mayor position.

In practice, however, this was often an impractical task if not an impossible one.

But now, the hands of York Leigh trembled out of excitement. Fortunately, he hadn’t done anything yet. Fortunately, he hadn’t smashed the only chance he had.

“How about this, Your Highness…” Marc Gavin said with a smile. “Qian Jin apologizes in person another day and you will let it go?”

“Why not?” With a sinister smile, York Hons walked into the room. “Well, as long as Qian Jin kneels down before us…”

“Get out!” York Leigh suddenly roared and threw the vintage cup at his son. The nose of the young master would have been bleeding if he had not managed to escape just in time. He dared not to use Warrior Power nor Body Protection Fighting Technique against his father.

“Marc, don’t take that for real… That little young bastard…” York Leigh looked daggers at his befuddled son at the door. York Hons had always been so poignant and timely… But this time… The father would very much like to kick his ass if Marc Gavin had not been there.

Marc Gavin tried to laugh off this embarrassing situation. It seemed the father had been mentally disturbed by Soul Weapons. Calling his son little bastard? Then what did that make him? An old bastard?

“Well, could you please be that kind to tell Qian Jin not to bother with this. This whole thing is no more than a misunderstanding. My wife… She is being ridiculous… I’ll discipline her.” For the first time, York Leigh had found the bear looked so cute. “Qian Jin doesn’t need to come. Or people might think him is here to apologize. It may have a bad effect on him. But I can go to your Torrent Battle Fort if necessary!”
