He was waiting for the Spirit Herbs for the Core Formation Pills to arrive before he tried to make them and accelerate his cultivation speed with them.
It was taking longer than usual.
And he figured that it might be due to the war in the North affecting the transportation routes to Hong Feng City.
He would have to make use of whatever he had first for the time being.

Thankfully, the purchase of the houses and shops surrounding Zhao Geng Nian would help with it when he got the reward from the system.
His progress with the Natal Puppet was going well with him getting a better sense and control of it.
It was more than ready for action, but in the meantime, he would have to get it more attuned with him.
The Natal Puppet would be such a powerful artifact as an element of surprise in the future.
However, the fact that it couldn’t make use of any spells, talismans and artifacts yet was frustrating and he was eager to change it.
Meanwhile, there was good news from Lee He Song and Zhi Yong.
They had ascended to Foundation Formation Level Refined Stage, just a stage short before they ascended to Core Formation Level like he was.
And with that, he called it a day before he headed back to his bedroom to spend the night with Xue Cong.

"Xuan Qi, let me help you." Xue Cong helped Lin Xuan Qi with his coat and she folded it while he sat down and had a sip of tea.
When she was done, she joined him at the tea table and said, "I will get Auntie Sue to make some chicken soup with herbs for you tomorrow."
He was so busy and it pained her to see him running around working hard for her and the others.
When she had joined the mansion, there was barely anything he could afford them, but now after so much work, she was able to have whatever she wanted.
Her life was a dream compared to so many others in the Da Qian Dynasty and she was appreciative of him.

"It’s fine. It’s nothing I can’t handle by myself." He took a sip of the tea and said.
She frowned when she heard him.
Sometimes it was hard to differentiate whether he was boasting and teasing her as usual or whether he was telling her a white lie so she wouldn’t be too worried.
Xue Cong sighed and wished that it wasn’t the latter.
She stood up, moved to the back of his seat and placed her hands onto his shoulders.
Lin Xuan Qi was surprised by her initiative but he let her help massage his shoulders.
They slackened and he could feel her fingers grasping into his muscles.
"Anything interesting happening in the mansion?" He asked while he closed his eyes and enjoyed the touch of Xue Cong.
"There are things happening but I’m not sure if they are interesting to you." Xue Cong’s lips curled up and she began to tell him all the gossip that was going around in the mansion.
"Xiu’s relatives came over and asked to join the mansion and work as servants but Xiu asked me to reject them..."
"Lin’s family was trying to matchmake her with Low who is one of the guards, but Low wasn’t too interested..."
"Auntie Sue was testing out some new dishes and everyone wanted to be the first to try them..."
Mostly, it was about what was happening with the servants and he nodded at what she had said.
She was right, as he wasn’t really interested in such mundane things but he was glad to have her to manage everything for him.
Without her, things in the mansion might have gone awry and he wouldn’t have had the peace of mind to take care of the businesses.
He laid his head back and rested on her.
She stopped for a moment before continuing with the massage she was giving him.
Both remained silent and enjoyed the few moments of bliss together until it was bedtime.
Xue Cong snuggled in his embrace and closed her eyes.
The distant gong of the nightwatchman sounded while the warm summer night breeze blew through the garden of the mansion.

After breakfast, the boss of the beef noodle shop came as expected.
And the boss had his eyes opened wide and his mouth gaping wide when he saw how big the mansion was.
Lin Xuan Qi asking about buying up all the shops and buildings in the area wasn’t a bluff and he was more than able to afford it.
Which made it extra difficult for the boss to stomach the price he had offered to Lin Xuan Qi.

"Master Lin, I apologize for doubting you yesterday." The boss cupped his hands at Lin Xuan Qi and said.
Lin Xuan Qi waved his hands at the boss and replied, "It’s just a misunderstanding. It’ll be great if you could let the others know that I would be interested in buying over their properties."
The boss patted his chest and said, "Leave it to me, I’ll make sure it gets done."
He would make sure that the others got a similar deal to what he got.
It would be a double whammy for him if the others got a much better price than him and he wasn’t going to allow it to happen.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head at him and said, "Then, we shall get this done and over with first."
He glanced at the servants standing with a chest beside them.
They opened the chest, revealing the eighty five taels of gold inside it.
The golden shine from the gold ingots reflected onto the boss’s face and he was grinning with delight when he saw the gold ingots.
