Two days later.
Lin Xuan Qi arrived at the Sima Family mansion with all the gifts and he saw Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun when he alighted from his horse carriage.
"Master Hun and young master Liu, long time no see." He cupped his hands and greeted them with a smile.
"Good to see you again too." Hun Xiong Kun and Liu Shao cupped their hands back at him and greeted.
Lin Xuan Qi stretched out his hands at the gates, gesturing for them to enter and said, "Come, let’s go inside and chat."
There were many guests that were also arriving and it wasn’t convenient for them to chat where they were.
Both of them nodded their heads and they entered the Sima Family mansion.
Along the way, there were sparse decorations of red auspicious paper cuttings for the full month celebration.
And these decorations were only present where they led to Sima Long’s house.
Out in the yard of his house, there were tables set up for a banquet with some of the guests already sitting by the tables and chatting among themselves.
Sima Long was busy moving around being congratulated by the guests and talking to the guests when Lin Xuan Qi, Hun Xiong Kun and Liu Shao arrived.
"Brother Xuan Qi, come have a seat inside." He waved at them and pointed inside the hall of his house and said when he saw them.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded and they moved into the hall.
After he sat down, one of the servant girls came over and poured them a cup of wine.
"Here are some gifts for you." Lin Xuan Qi said and the guard that was with him handed over the gifts to Sima Long.
Sima Long’s servant girl quickly came over and helped receive them.
"You shouldn’t have, brother Xuan Qi." Sima Long said with a smile.
Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun also presented their gifts to him.
"No need for more words. Here’s a toast to you." Sima Long picked up a wine cup that was filled and proposed a toast to them.
"Here’s to your baby girl."
Lin Xuan Qi picked up the wine cup in front of him and he downed the wine in one mouthful.
"It’s been such a long day." Sima Long sat down beside Lin Xuan Qi and gave out a sigh.
He had been entertaining the guests for the whole day and it was somewhat tiring for him.
However, Lin Xuan Qi could see that Sima Long was wearing a smile on his face even though he said that he was tired.
And the smile turned into laughter when a servant girl carried Sima Long’s daughter over to where Lin Xuan Qi was seated.
His daughter was chubby and cute with her round cheeks.
Sima Long wanted to talk to her but she was fast asleep.
"Alright, I admit it. She is lovely, cute, chubby and cuddly like what you had said." Lin Xuan Qi said with a smile at Sima Long.
Hun Xiong Kun, who had been a father for years, nodded his head and said, "She will grow up healthy and be capable like you very soon."
"Me? Capable? You are flattering me. I don’t need her to be capable, I just want her to be happy." Sima Long said while glancing at his precious daughter.
Lin Xuan Qi knew what it meant to be happy in the Sima Family.
And it wouldn’t be easy.
Sima Long’s daughter, Sima Dai Yu, would have it easier if she had a Spirit Root that would allow her to cultivate, and if not, her fate might be decided by whichever husband would be arranged for her when she grew up.
He wasn’t sure if Sima Long was willing to do so, having an arranged marriage for his daughter, but it was not the occasion to talk about it.
From what he knew of Sima Long and Zhang Jie, they probably weren’t going to be agreeable to it.
"What if she is both happy and capable?" Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and said.
"Heh. That would depend on you my brother Xuan Qi." Sima Long said and patted Lin Xuan Qi on his shoulder.
"Me?" Lin Xuan Qi frowned and asked.
"A lot depends on you now with the businesses." Sima Long said and waved at the servant girl.
The servant girl nodded her head and brought his daughter into the back of the house.
"I think I would need to expand my franchise stores." Sima Long said and it also got Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun intrigued.
They had been making good money from it and they wouldn’t mind expanding and making more if it was possible.
"I should be able to accommodate the increase in production." Lin Xuan Qi nodded at Sima Long and replied.
"Great!" Sima Long perked up at the good news and said, "I intend to open up two more franchise stores in the city."
"Me too." Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun were also thinking the same.
Lin Xuan Qi was glad to be able to make more money together with his friends and he said, "I will think about where the locations of the franchise stores should be.
"Let me get back to you when I’ve decided."
Sima Long, Liu Shao and Hun Xiong Kun nodded their heads.
Liu Shao glanced at Hun Xiong Kun and asked, "I heard that you are doing very well with your rice business, maybe you should leave some of the money for us."
Hun Xiong Kun waved his hands at Liu Shao and said, "It’s just a small business, and besides that, I am working with Master Lin on the business.
"You should be telling him to leave some money for the rest of us."
All of them turned their heads and glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi with envy.
He had come out of nowhere and he was already making money out of so many businesses.
Their ancestors would be so proud of them if they were half as capable and talented as Lin Xuan Qi.
"Let’s have a drink shall we, for the new franchise stores." Lin Xuan Qi frowned with their gaze on him and he quickly picked up his wine cup to propose a toast to them.
