Chapter 525: Lao Er and Ling Er

Chapter 525: Lao Er and Ling Er

Lin Xuan Qi bashed through the thick foliage and vines while paying attention to his surroundings.

Along the way, there were skirmishes between cultivators or cultivators with the different demonic beasts that were in the ancient forest.

He took the effort to make a detour to avoid all of it if he could help it.

Fortunately for him, the encounters that he had were with cultivators that were at Qi Concentration level so none of them were able to catch up to him.

Even if they did, he had the invisible talismans with him to be out of their sight.

Unless they could sense his Five-Element Qi, if not, they wouldn’t be able to sense where he was if he used it.

That was not all.

Qing Feng Sect disciples started to be seen as he traveled along, and they were ushering the cultivators in a direction when he saw them.

He wasn’t too sure what they were up to but he didn’t have the time and luxury to stick around to find out.

"Look around."

"They couldn’t have gone far."

"Senior martial brother, they aren’t cultivators and pose no threat to us. Why do you want to search for them?"

There was a group of cultivators in their cultivation robes searching around for someone when Lin Xuan Qi got near the old temple.

The senior martial brother turned and stared at his fellow disciple asking the question and shouted, "You idiot.

"Who knows what traps or demonic beasts lurk within the old temple?

"We can use them as bait and have them be ahead of us.

"And when anything happens, we can have enough time to react to it."

The disciple who was being lectured cupped his hands and bowed at the senior martial brother. "I apologize for my idiocy, senior martial brother."

"Heh. The young man can be our bait while the young woman might have some other use for us." Another disciple said and the others burst out in laughter.

Lin Xuan Qi frowned when he heard them and he figured that they were talking about Lao Er and Ling Er.

Good news: They were still alive.

Bad news: They were being hunted by a bunch of cultivators.

But it wasn’t totally bad news.

These cultivators were only at Qi Concentration Level which he would be able to deal with.

He quickly hid in a corner, closed his eyes and used his Spiritual Sense to try and sense the whereabouts of Lao Er and Ling Er first.

His Spiritual Sense extended out into the surroundings and he could ’see’ where the cultivators were.

Slowly it expanded, taking up more of his Five-Element Qi until his Spiritual Sense extended out to the old temple which was around three hundred meters away.

At first he couldn’t sense anyone nearby.

Not in the temple itself, or the smaller buildings near it.

He was about to retract his Spiritual Sense before he caught a glimpse of them together.

They were inside a firewood shed that was next to the well.

No one would have come looking for them and went straight into the temple instead.

Lin Xuan Qi pondered on what he had to do for a moment.

And when he was ready, he took out one of his invisible talismans.

He directed his Five-Element Qi into it and after it gave out a glow, the talisman dissipated. With Lin Xuan Qi also doing the same shortly after.

One of the disciples who was nearest to him, checking the surroundings, felt a gust of wind from his back.

But before he could turn around and see what was going on, he felt a force that came onto his neck.

Crack.

He could hear the snap of his neck and the next thing to happen before he knew it was that his vision went blank and his consciousness followed shortly after.

Lin Xuan Qi held onto the body of the disciple and dragged it into a bush and put it there before going after his next prey.

Another disciple who was also nearby heard the rustling of the bushes and he came over.

"Gou, where are you." The disciple swayed his sword around, pushing the bushes and foliage out of his path.

"What the hell?" He stopped when he saw the bushes and foliage in front of him magically separating as if someone was walking through them.

Instinctively, he raised his head to see who was there but he saw nothing.

The disciple tried to use his Spirit Qi to sense the surroundings.

However, he couldn’t.

"Gho... Ghost?" All he could think of was that it might have been a ghost.

No one knows for sure if there were any inside the secret realm.

But there weren’t any chances for him to find out.

A force came at his face and it knocked him out in an instant.

Then, his head was beaten into a pulp, before he was carried away like the previous disciple.

After he was done hiding the body of his second victim, Lin Xuan Qi took out another invisible talisman and used it before he carried on with what he was doing.

There were only three of them left and he headed for the one that was alone before taking care of the other two who were standing near together.

This lone disciple was grumbling when Lin Xuan Qi got near to him.

"Senior martial brother is just wasting our time... Who knows how much treasure we could have gotten by now if we weren’t wasting our time looking for two nobodies." The grumbling went on while he halfheartedly searched for Lao Er and Ling Er.

Lin Xuan Qi chose the best opportunity to pounce onto him and crushed his head with a single blow.

He held onto the body and dragged it towards a bush that was big enough to cover it.

Unavoidably, as the body of the disciple passed through the foliage, it caused them to make some rustling noises.

And it was heard by the senior martial brother and the disciple beside him.

"Who’s there?!" Both of them shouted and they came over to see what was happening.
