Lin Xuan Qi gave Lao Er a nod but Lao Er lowered his head and scurried away, pulling Ling Er along with him.
They went towards the crowd and mingled into it.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged his shoulders but he took note of Lao Er and Ling Er.
These two were perfect candidates for what he was about to do.
What he needed to do next was to observe how they were and slowly guide them to help him set up his sect.
But before he could do that, he needed some Spirit Stones first.
Ones that weren’t empty of Spirit Qi and weren’t fake.
It took him a while to walk around the village and he finally stumbled upon someone selling real Spirit Stones.
"How much for a Spirit Stone?"
"Ten taels of gold."
"I want four."
After the stall keeper gave him a reasonable price, he bought four Spirit Stones and kept them in his sleeve pocket.
Or more precisely, his storage artifact which was now in his sleeve pocket.
"You better be careful with those around here." The stall keeper cautioned him of the dangers lurking in the surroundings.
"Thanks, I will." Lin Xuan Qi thanked him and left the stall.
The guards that were with him quickly followed him and stayed closely by his side.
They weren’t too sure why he had bought the Spirit Stones and one of them asked, "Master Lin, why would you need to buy those?"
"I need them as gifts for the cultivators I might have to deal with in the future." Lin Xuan Qi gave them an excuse and said.
The guards nodded their heads when they heard him.
Exchanging gifts with business partners was indeed customary courtesy and it made sense to them.
"Hurry, it’s going to start!"
"Where is it?"
"Over there where the Qing Feng Sect disciples are."
The crowd suddenly got excited and they were rushing in a direction.
Lin Xuan Qi waved at the guards and said, "Come, let’s go have a look."
The guards glanced at each other for a few moments, but their adventurous nature got the better of them.
They used to travel through the Da Qian Dynasty after all and the lure of witnessing a secret realm opening up was too great for them.
"Follow us closely, Master Lin." One of them said and took the lead, while the others surrounded Lin Xuan Qi and they started to move in the direction where the crowd was going.
Along the way, more people that were loitering around the other villages also joined in the rush.
And the size of the crowd increased to a substantial size.
Everyone started to jostle with each other trying to get to the destination earlier.
Fortunately, Lin Xuan Qi was able to avoid any disaster that came his way with his heightened senses and responses.
It took them a while, but thankfully, they managed to reach the place safely.
"Let me have a look."
"Get out of my way, I came here before you."
"Don’t you antagonize me, I swear that I’ll gut you."
Some tempers flared when the cultivators from different sects or different groups of rogue cultivators came into close contact with each other.
Lin Xuan Qi stood in a corner, avoiding most of them and observed what was going on.
There was a platform built in an open area with the mountains standing tall on both sides.
They were in the valley.
His eyes scanned around and he was glad to see someone familiar again.
Not too far away from him, Lao Er and Ling Er stood close together with each other.
Ling Er was anxiously looking around with her arms crossed in front of her.
Lao Er was saying something to her and Lin Xuan Qi focused hard on his hearing to try and eavesdrop on them.
His hearing had become much better than an ordinary person’s when he ascended to Foundation Establishment Level and he was able to hear what Lao Er was saying, albeit very softly.
"Stay behind me and hold my hands tight. This might be our only chance to become cultivators." Lao Er said and he tried to stand tall to give Ling Er more confidence.
"But there are so many of them... We will be squashed to a pulp if we make a mistake..." Ling Er was still worried and she tried to change his mind.
But Lao Er was determined to become a cultivator and he insisted, "Remember how we escaped from our village?
"After coming all this way, we can’t go back now.
"Our families are in debt trying to seek a sect for us and we can’t burden them any further.
"We can only go in and succeed so that we can repay them."
Ling Er was convinced this time and she nodded her head quietly.
Lin Xuan Qi, who had eavesdropped on the conversation, was more convinced now that Lao Er and Ling Er were the perfect candidates for him.
Even though Lao Er was naive in a certain way, he appreciated the fact that Lao Er was brave enough to take risks and thought about repaying his family and caring about Ling Er.
As for Ling Er, she was much more cool-headed and she would be able to rein in Lao Er for him.
While he was in his thoughts, Qing Feng Sect disciples started to come onto the platform in the open area and the crowd began to get excited.
One of the disciples raised his hands and shouted, "Quiet!"
His voice boomed in the valley and the crowd became silent in the next moment.
"Welcome to the opening of the Spirit Valley secret realm.
"The Qing Feng Sect is pleased to be able to share with you the possibility of improving your cultivation with the abundance of resources and treasures inside.
"I know that you are eager to go in but I do have to warn you that it is fatal inside and you may end up losing your lives.
"The Qing Feng Sect will send some of our disciples inside to keep the law and order but we can’t be everywhere so you have to be aware of the risks you are taking on."
The crowd got restless after they heard his speech.
