Lee Hao was shocked to see Feng Ye. Among every thing else, he did not expect Feng Ye to be here. Atleast with Yu Lian and Ning Mei. Because who was he? One of the youngest and the most sorted out actors of the generation.
He snapped his head towards the girls confused and then back to Feng Ye. And in order to be sure he asked, "Mr. Feng Ye?" Feng Ye flashed his cool smile that was in so much contrast to his earlier embarresed self and said, "Yes. Nice to meet you."
And when he confirmed that it was no other than Feng Ye, Lee Hao’s jaw almost dropped open. He contemplated what to say for a moment than and said, " May I ask why are you here?" Because he himself had not an ounce of idea.
Feng Ye cleared his throat and then looked at Yu Lian and Ning Mei who looked back at him. They all understanding very well the kind of shock Lee Hao was experiencing.
Feng Ye laughed a little and said, "Nothing. Just thought of accompanying my best friends to work today. And after all, it is a very big day to her. A very big step to the start of her career." Now, now. It was not all wrong. He had initially thought of this. That he would stay and congratulate Ning Mei on her big day. But now he could not say that he had sticked with them because he still had to find answers from that Dumb girl.
Lee Hao asked dumbfoldedly, "You guys are best friends?" It is not strange for him that Feng Ye, Ning Mei and Yu Lian were best friends. As there was not reason for them to not be. And he had seen a lot like this. A celebrity is also a human. He can have his own friend circle no doubt. But what amazed him was, they not using this friendship in a wrong way.
If Ning Mei wanted she could just burrow Feng Ye’s fame in her crucial career climbing phrase and her instant fame which would help her secure many projects and be in public attention. Or Feng Ye could just use his connection to get her roles or help her in career.
But the best thing he felt was that they were doing nothing of this sort. As doing this would only help them in a short run and also bring her lot of difficulties in future. It would not guarantee her a long term success. People would only know her because of Feng Ye, and not the real her. They would only be interested in her because they would want to know more about him. It wouldn’t matter what she herself was doing.
Also, entertainment industry is a like a bird surrounded by a cage of controversies. No actor or actress can ever set themselves free from controversies. In even a single phrase in their life , they had to be mixed in a controversy. And when it happens whether with Feng Ye or Ning Mei, both will be affected. As both of them are connected in some ways.
So therefore smiling at Feng Ye, Lee Hao said politely, "Please make yourself comfortable, Mr. Feng."
Feng Ye nodded and said , "Sure. And please do not get bothered by me. You can carry on with your work."
Now the business started. Lee Hao informed them that, he had talked to their cheif designer and CEO about her. He had also forwarded her Ning Mei’s portfolio which Li Chen had emailed him last night.
He said that the CEO very much liked her pictures and said that it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Ning Mei to be the face of their brand.
Hearing this, Ning Mei and Yu Lian got very excited. But then Lee Hao continued. But for that Ning Mei first had to prove herself and her value for the brand. She had to model for the latest event- themed design of Koral, that the CEO has herself designed. And if there is a positive response in the market. And if she could make an impact positively, the brand of the face will be given to her without any delay.
Hearing this, Ning Mei and Yu Lian got very excited and happy. But also a sense of responsibility and work fell on them. Because it was 2/3 work and 1/3 luck. Only a pretty face, good designer and a talented makeup artist doesn’t make an ad successful. But there is a very huge role of the model by how she presents herself and the dress. How she could catch the public’s eyes.
And also there was a matter of luck. Sometimes everything goes well, but destiny.
Everything was done and they finally singed the contract for the latest design of Koral. The photoshoot was scheduled two weeks from now and the release was after a month.
After their were done, the girls stood up and shook hands with Lee Hao. Feng Ye too stood up and shook hands with him. Lee Hao excorted them till the exit and said, "We are hoping for a happy co operation."
Yu Lian and Ning Mei bowed at him and replied, "We too." During their exit no one dared to utter a sound. And the three walked out with their heads high up as if they didn’t care. Well.. they really didn’t.
Lee Hao went back to his cabin when his phone rang. He picked it up and saw the CEO’s number flashing on the screen and answered the call, "Hello, ma’am."
A calm, mature, professional but in a way sweet voice came through the other side, "Is the meeting other with that girl that you sent me the portfolio of?"
Lee Hao answered, "Yes, ma’am. Everything was smooth. The contract is just signed. "
"That’s good. I am hoping for this project to go well. I am having a feeling that if this goes well, and if Ning Mei performs well, then Koral is going to reach heights soon. It would be a big step. Therefore, I do not want any problems from our side. "
Lee Hao assured, " Do not worry, ma’am. She seems to be hard working and good at her work. Also, I will make sure to have no issues from our sides. "
"Better." She replied. And they hung up the call.
