As soon as, Ning Mei heard Gu Yeze confirming his words, she said something that even took Gu Yeze with surprise.
"Marry me. "
Gu Yeze stared at her face for a while, analysing whether he heard it wrong or not. When he at first thought of teasing her, the thing that was in his mind was that she would almost ask to be his girlfriend. But marriage...
The words, ’Marry me.’ revolved around his head for a while before registering itself in his brain. And he felt thousands of roses bloom together in his heart. Happiness came all too sudden!
She... She asked herself to be his forever. It’s forever. And he would never let it end. A big, wide, smile almost broke into his face ruining his acting. But he still held onto his acting and make a slightly serious face and said, " Miss Ning, are you sure about what you said?"
Ning Mei felt her blood pressure increasing now. Why does this guy call her so formally..? Anyways that was not the main concern right now. So, she nodded her head with absolute determination and said, " 100% sure. "
Gu Yeze smiled lightly and leaned forward near her face and said, " So Ning Mei, tell me what do you know about the man you want to marry? "
When she heard him, Ning Mei felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach. ’Ah... finally he called me by my name. It’s the freaking first time! ’
And then when she remembered that he had asked her a question, she opened her mouth to answer, " That.. I.. you... " And blank. She stared at his face with big, blank eyes.
That’s what! I.. I don’t know anything about him! Even his name, I came to know it today! How can a sane person marry someone who doesn’t even know anything about him?! After all... he is not crazy about me like I am about him...
Ning Mei thought that and lowered her eyes. She felt her heart breaking into pieces. She could ask him to date her but honestly, she didn’t believe in dating. It is something, she felt that could break anytime. So she directly asked him to marry her. But it seems like... she needs to stop acting on impulse.
Gu Yeze looked at her sad eyes and felt really bad. He didn’t want to bring this up and wanted everything to go according to her heart’s wish. But, he didn’t want her to ever think in the future that her decision was on impulse or a mistake, by any chance.
Even he regretted a little bit, right now. As much as he wanted her to understand the fact that she should not make this decidi on impulse, he also didn’t want her to back off with her marriage proposal. He fu*king wanted to marry her so bad! He so wanted to own her forever!!
Gu Yeze, then said again, "You don’t know anything about me, Ning Mei. Do you know whether I am married or not? Do you know about my likes or dislikes? My family? My character? Anything? "
Ning Mei snapped her head to look at him at once, when she heard him. She widened her eyes and her heart raced like crazy. With a trembling small voice, she asked, "A.. are you m..married? " It’s not like, this question never came into her mind. It came, but she just brushed it away, not wanting to think about anything negative.
But now, when she heard him say this possibility with his own mouth. She felt fear creeping in every cell of her body. She absolutely couldn’t lose him, that too even before she got him. She can’t lose him, at all. But if he is married.. she will have nothing to do..
Waiting for him to answer, she felt like eternity. Even second felt like years. Gu Yeze stared into her eyes for a good few seconds and then finally said, "No. "
On hearing his answer, Ning Mei felt so relieved that she couldn’t even express in words. It felt as if a very weight was lifted from her shoulders and her legs almost gave up. Thank God. He is not.
