Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 443: Chapter 254: The Mutated Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl and the Dragon Rose Seed

Liu Shu was explaining very earnestly to Zhong Yi, not wanting him to think that he was reluctant to part with the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl and was trying to talk him out of the exchange for that reason.

Upon hearing this, Zhong Yi’s mind immediately started buzzing with possibilities.

Many succulents have the ability to propagate new, individual plants from their leaves.

This is how succulents reproduce and grow their population.

Demon Spirit Element succulents were different from ordinary ones, but their fundamental nature was much the same.

The black rot and liquefaction that occurred when a part was separated from the mother plant was, to put it bluntly, because the offspring couldn’t escape the parent’s control.

Once it was detached, a self-destruct sequence in its genes would activate.

Zhong Yi wanted to conduct an experiment. After getting his hands on this Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl...

’If I use my Soul Taming Seed to form a Contract with it immediately, could I use that external force to trigger a bloodline leap?’

’Could I give it a whole new genetic template and break the limitations of its original genes?’

Zhong Yi couldn’t be certain of the outcome without trying.

However, given the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl’s effects and its significance to a faction—or even an entire world—it was well worth the attempt!

’If it weren’t for this peculiarity, Liu Shu probably wouldn’t have priced it at 4,500 Divine Origin Value.’

Compared to an ordinary Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl, Zhong Yi felt this one with the mutated Basic Skill was far superior.

For a Functional Guardian Beast like the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl, its core value lay in producing leaves for Creators to use.

According to Liu Shu, the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl’s original skill, Awakening Fragrance, was some kind of mental soothing ability.

A Basic Skill like that couldn’t help the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl grow leaves quickly like Root Strangulation and Promotion could.

There was a Guardian Beast in the Guardian Beast World called the Wood Spirit Ginseng.

The Wood Spirit Ginseng extracted energy from the soil in a destructive way.

It then refined that energy, converted it into nutrients suitable for plant-type Guardian Beasts, and stored them in its root system.

This Wood Spirit Ginseng was perfectly suited for cultivating a Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl whose Basic Skill was Root Strangulation and Promotion.

Zhong Yi had a Florist Worm.

This Florist Worm had already produced a massive amount of special soil.

’I can use the special soil from my Florist Worm to cultivate the Wood Spirit Ginseng, and then use the Wood Spirit Ginseng to cultivate the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl.’

’The Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl’s yield would surely be enough not just for a Six-finger Creator, but even Five-finger Creators could use its leaves as an aid when concocting Fifth Level Potions.’

Liu Shu had said that the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl’s power had to reach the Third Level for its ability to fuse the properties of various ingredients to reach its peak.

The Third Level was the Fantasy Tier, and for Zhong Yi, raising the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl to the Fantasy Tier was an easy task.

Soon, Zhong Yi would be able to use the Soul Nourishing Gu Mother to elevate Cao Xing’an, a Five-finger Peak Creator, to the level of a Six-finger Creator.

Then, he would use the Treasure Guarding Dragon Pot’s Skill, Pot-Born Illusion Body, to control Cao Xing’an.

Zhong Yi would then have Cao Xing’an specialize in cultivating the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl.

He might even be able to get it to propagate new offspring from its leaves.

"Thank you for the information, Brother Shu, but I’m still very interested in this Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl."

"I’d like to get it and do some research!"

With that, Zhong Yi decisively made the exchange, and 4,500 Divine Origin Value was deducted from his account.

Hearing this, Liu Shu didn’t press the issue.

’In any case, with Zhong Yi’s Talent, earning 4,500 Divine Origin Value wouldn’t be difficult. If he wanted to waste a bit to satisfy his curiosity, so be it.’

After the exchange, Zhong Yi was left with just under twenty thousand Divine Origin Value.

Zhong Yi stopped looking at Guardian Beasts and turned his attention to the materials.

The Treasure Vault of the Chasing Light Dragon Palace held an immense collection of materials.

But Zhong Yi soon locked onto the next item he wanted.

Among the Main Dragon Species, there was an exceedingly rare type of Dragon Species Guardian Beast.

This type of Guardian Beast wasn’t born from an egg, but from a flower.

These dragons had a collective name: Flower Dragons.

The Flower Dragon bloodline wasn’t listed among the twelve major Main Dragon Bloodlines, but its strength was undeniably on par with a Main Dragon.

This was simply because Flower Dragons were far too rare.

The Guardian Beast World only had legends of Flower Dragons recorded in ancient texts.

Even in the Dragon Abyss Ecosystem, which had the highest population of Dragon Species Guardian Beasts, there were likely very few Flower Dragons.

Once born, a Flower Dragon had a high probability of comprehending a Rule Authority related to nature.

Wherever a Flower Dragon lived, the growth of plants would accelerate.

Given their ability to affect plant life, Flower Dragons could be considered auspicious creatures.

Zhong Yi hadn’t expected to find a seed capable of birthing a Flower Dragon here.

A Flower Dragon seed was essentially equivalent to the Dragon Egg of any other Main Dragon.

However, this pinkish-red seed was broken in two and priced at a mere 800 Divine Origin Value.

Judging by the price, this broken Flower Dragon seed was likely beyond repair.

Seeing Zhong Yi’s gaze linger on the broken, pink Dragon Rose Seed, Liu Shu couldn’t help but say with a sigh,

"Long Mu found this Dragon Rose Seed while exploring a new world."

"The Dragon Rose Seed was originally whole, but a Hunter Corps that had infiltrated that world destroyed it."

"Long Mu was depressed about it for days."

"The Dragon Rose Seed contains an immense amount of life force. Since this only happened recently, the life force within the broken seed hasn’t completely dissipated yet."

"But even though Long Mu retrieved the seed, a piece is still missing, so there’s no way to restore it."

"To try and restore it, Long Mu even used a drop of Blood Dragon Ancestral Blood he obtained from the Blood Dragon Race Sacred Land."

"If you enjoy researching rare Guardian Beasts or materials, this Dragon Rose Seed is more of a collector’s item than the Golden Lotus Brocade Pearl."

"The flower that blooms from a Dragon Rose Seed has a chance of birthing a Rose Dragon."

"Among all the Flower Dragons, the Rose Dragon is definitely considered a superior bloodline."

The moment Zhong Yi heard that the shattered Dragon Rose Seed still contained life force, he was inwardly stunned.

’Long Mu used a drop of Blood Dragon Ancestral Blood to try and save the Dragon Rose Seed, which means the blood must contain an immense amount of life force. The life force from the Blood Dragon Ancestral Blood has been nourishing this shattered seed. And all of this happened just recently.’

’And my Order Beast, the Resurrection Celestial Lord, has the Rule Authority Eternal Life Reformation. It can consume the life force within the Dragon Rose Seed, using its original template to rejoin the pieces and even regenerate the missing part.’

A missing piece of the Dragon Rose Seed was an impossible problem for anyone else.

But for Zhong Yi, restoring it wasn’t difficult at all.

’Even if the life force within the Dragon Rose Seed isn’t enough for a full recovery, I can use my Beastmaster Talent, Extreme Reversal, to convert the Destructive Energy that the Resurrection Celestial Lord has accumulated via its Exclusive Trait, Withered Oasis. I can reverse that Peak of Ten Thousand Nations-level Destructive Energy and use it to restore the Dragon Rose Seed.’

Long Mu had tried everything and failed to restore the Dragon Rose Seed.

’Long Mu’s choice to place it in the Chasing Light Dragon Palace’s Treasure Vault for 800 Divine Origin Value meant that even if I restore the Dragon Rose Seed, form a Contract with it, and hatch a Rose Dragon, it wouldn’t be considered stealing Long Mu’s fated opportunity.’

’Of course, even if it recovers, the Dragon Rose Seed will be extremely weak after such an ordeal. It would be like a newborn who has just undergone several major surgeries.’

Restoring its depleted Primordial Qi would require careful, long-term nurturing.

’And the special soil created by my Florist Worm is the best possible supplement for the entire growth process, from sprouting to flowering.’

Back when he was at the Extraordinary Tier, Zhong Yi had already successfully evolved his Gardener Worm’s bloodline into a Florist Worm.

He had been meticulously cultivating the Florist Worm with Flowing Soul Soil ever since.

The reason Zhong Yi hadn’t focused on cultivating the Florist Worm lately was because the resources in the Guardian Beast World were insufficient for it to advance any further.

To evolve into the legendary Summer Worm!
