Chapter 3180: Energy Efficiency Of A World Calamity Tree

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Realm Of True Evil, Shell Island

Now that I had taken care of the parasite infesting the Star Turtle’s shell, all that was left to do was to store it. The dimensional storage card was big but not enough to fit the entire Star Turtle shell with the giant forest above it. Nor was I in a position to recreate it to meet my needs.

However, with Maworm here, I didn’t have to worry about not having enough storage space. Each of her stomachs could hold an entire realm, let alone a huge shell the size of a small continent.

I ordered Maworm to grow to her maximum size and make use of the fourth transformation of her Primordial Calamity Daughter Gem to swallow the shell and us into one of her stomachs. I made sure she understood that she had to swallow the shell, the forest on it, and the island in whole, along with enough air and lava to sustain the forest, island, and us. Because whenever her kind swallowed the realm, it was never in one piece but reduced to ruins.

Also reminded her to avoid swallowing the Truevils surrounding the shell.

With my orders, Maworm flew out of the shell, ignoring the swarm of Truevils that were surrounding the shell while being submerged in the lava neck down, staring at the shell unblinkingly as the World Calamity Tree controlling them was still trying to communicate with me through them.

Flying into the sky above the shell forest, Maworm grew to her maximum size. Though she was still only small compared to the shell, her shadow covered a massive portion of the forest in darkness.

After all, she was a being from the Primordial Era. Unlike the Truevil, whose bloodline was diluted and mutated for them to survive in the current conditions of the Myriad Realm, Maworm was a true primordial creature. She did not have a Primordial Form because she was already in her Primordial Form.

Having reached her maximum size, she used the fourth transformation of her Calamity Daughter Gem, a transformation that allowed a regular Card Apprentice to grow to the size of a small hill or a mountain. For her current size, when the transformation was applied, she grew about twenty times longer than the star turtle shell itself.

As she compressed her long body like a spring while hovering in the air, not only was the shell forest covered in darkness, but that whole region of the lava ocean was as well.

Then she opened her tri-petal maw and swallowed the whole shell into one of her stomachs in its entirety while ensuring she had swallowed enough lava and air to help life on the shell remain sustained for a long while, and making sure she didn’t swallow the Calamity Daughter Seed Truevils.

Seeing the Star Turtle shell vanish into Maworm, the Calamity Daughter Seed Truevils didn’t react, except for changing the target of their unblinking stare to Maworm.

Meanwhile, within the stomach of Maworm, I could finally unseal my senses, separated by the dimension of Maworm’s stomach, the World Calamity Tree could no longer reach me through the Calamity Daughter Seed Truevils. They continued to dumbly try and contact Maworm, mistaking her for the actual World Calamity Tree, when in actuality, she was a Bloodkin, and unlike Cloud Prowler, she could not hear the noise they were broadcasting.

Now that my senses were unsealed, I gave trying to change my current form, World Calamity Tree, a second chance. But after repeated attempts, I came to realize that I simply couldn’t revert to my original form as long as I didn’t get rid of the noise in my memories.

Yes, the noise was continuing to ensure I was in my World Calamity Tree form through my memories. It was like my soul pathways were brainwashed into retaining my World Calamity Tree form no matter what, i.e. if they had a brain and memories.

The more I thought about this, all I could think was how energy-efficient this skill was. Except for the initial energy expended in broadcasting this noise, the rest of the energy spent was non-negligible from my side. If not for Hive Spirit noticing the infinitesimal difference in energy consumption when recalling this memory and other memories, I would have missed the fact that there was something wrong with the memory itself.

Hive Spirit could not hear the noise through my senses or see the noise in my memories, but it could monitor my every bodily function down to every neuron. Since it could not sense the memory of the noise through regular means, it began to go through all the neurons and finally triangulated the one neuron it could detect through regular remembrance. Using various other parameters, it tried to understand what made it different from other neurons.

But all it learned was that it was using infinitesimal energy to ensure that my body could not revert out of the World Calamity Tree form.

We tried sealing it so that it would no longer interfere with my transformation, but to no avail. The only way left was to erase it. But I needed to study the noise. Since I couldn’t copy it or move it, I couldn’t erase it if I wanted to study it. Which meant I couldn’t turn back into my human form as long as I had this memory that I needed to study the noise in it.

Realizing that there was simply no chance of me returning to my Card Apprentice form, I decided to use the last resort to leave this Realm through the Demon Merchant Code.

However, before I could get to it, I got a distress report from Maworm outside that it was being attacked by a bunch of Truevils. They weren’t part of the swarm of Calamity Daughter Seed Truevils. They were the Truevils that had been attracted by her massive form. They all seemed to be scary strong enough to scare Maworm in her current form.
