Chapter 3039: Bloodline Supremacy
Chapter 3039: Bloodline Supremacy
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Dark Realm, Gelid Alps, Snow Elven Region, High Snow District, Snow Capital
While I stood before the coalition of Snow Elven allies, distracting the very forces gathered to capture me and reclaim the Frosling slaves I had taken from them, the Maworm was carrying out my real plan.
Using Myriad Devil Transformation, it morphed into a common pest native to the Gelid Alps, becoming so ordinary that no one would spare it a second glance.
With assistance from my clone already hidden inside the Snow Capital and successfully taken over the city array formation, the disguised Maworm slipped past the city’s defensive barrier without raising the slightest suspicion.
As every Ruler-class fixed their attention on me, none of them realized that the true threat had already infiltrated the city they had gathered to defend.
After entering the city, the Maworm followed the directions provided by Sansa and made its way toward the vast underground complex hidden beneath the Snow Capital, the one where the Snow Elven Crown Prince had conducted his interbreeding experiments and imprisoned the resulting semi-Ruler-class Half-Bloods.
Although the Half-Bloods had been transferred to the Heathen Stone Prison following their rebellion, the other experimental subjects, those still being used to produce more Half-Bloods, Froslings and Snow Elves alike, remained confined within the underground laboratories.
Guided by Sansa through Hive Spirit, the Maworm quietly slipped past the guards stationed at the massive sinkhole right in the middle of the city.
The commotion both inside and outside the city had stretched the Snow Elves’ attention to its limit, leaving no one focused on their shameful secrets hidden beneath their feet.
The Maworm found those pitiful souls and stored them within one of its stomach chambers before retracing its path back to the surface, all without attracting the slightest suspicion.
Once outside, it headed toward the Heathen Stone Prison under Sansa’s guidance.
That was where the Snow Elven Crown Prince and his specialized clones had confined the nearly one thousand Half-Bloods after crushing their rebellion.
Unlike the laboratories, however, the prison was another matter entirely. Even with Sansa providing insider knowledge, rescuing the Half-Bloods from the Heathen Stone Prison would be anything but easy.
Nearly a thousand of the Snow Elven Crown Prince’s specialized clones patrolled every corner of the Heathen Stone Prison.
They watched over the inmates and the Half-Bloods without pause, maintaining constant surveillance over every inch of the prison. Nothing escaped their notice. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that not even a gust of wind could pass through the prison without one of the clones detecting it. Needless to say, infiltrating it as the Maworm would be no easier.
The Crown Prince had tightened the prison’s security, not because he feared the masked Curse Master, but because he intended to honor the promise he had made. If push came to shove, he would personally kill every last Half-Blood before allowing a single one to escape with me.
He would rather reduce the fruits of several millennia of painstaking labor to ashes than watch someone else inherit them. It wasn’t pettiness that drove him. It was foresight. He understood the consequences better than anyone.
The greatest of those consequences would be the birth of a new Ruler-class force founded by the Half-Bloods themselves.
They possessed the strengths of both the Froslings and the Snow Elves while inheriting the weaknesses of neither.
Every one of the nearly one thousand Half-Bloods imprisoned within the Heathen Stone Prison possessed the potential to become a Ruler-class being. That was why they were alive among the millions of Half-blood babies that were killed over several millennia.
That wasn’t merely one thousand talented individuals. It was the foundation of an entirely new Ruler-class race.
A race born only within the past several millennia had already produced nearly one thousand individuals with Ruler-class potential. And that was under captivity. Their breeding had been tightly controlled within laboratories, their numbers deliberately suppressed, and their freedom stripped away.
Had they been left to thrive in the wild instead. The Half-Bloods would likely have matured into a genuine Ruler-class force long ago, with hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of true Ruler-class beings among them.
The Crown Prince couldn’t allow such a future to come to pass. If it did, the Snow Elven race would become the laughingstock of the Dark Realm, forever living in the shadow of the very ’mutts’ they had created.
For all his talk of abandoning pride whenever it hindered his ambitions, there remained one outcome he could never accept. The thought of watching the Half-Bloods eclipse the Snow Elves filled him with profound dissatisfaction. To him, that fate was worse than extinction. He would rather see the Snow Elven race perish than spend eternity bowing beneath the descendants of their own experiments.
The Snow Elven Crown Prince’s fears were not entirely unfounded.
That future could very well have come to pass had the Snow Elves truly accepted the Froslings into their society instead of merely claiming they had. Rather than embracing them as equals, they imprisoned them at the heart of their territory under the pretense of protecting both their freedom and the Froslings themselves.
Had they abandoned their obsession with bloodline supremacy and genuinely integrated the Froslings into Snow Elven society, then over the past several millennia, after purchasing virtually every Frosling slave they could find across the Dark Realm, they would likely have achieved their dream of becoming a true Ruler-class force long ago.
The irony wasn’t lost on the Crown Prince. He understood this better than anyone. Yet, instead of accepting the Froslings as they were, he chose a different path. He conducted countless experiments, painstakingly trying to dilute the Frosling bloodline generation after generation, stripping away everything that made them Froslings while trying to preserve only their Frosell Blessing.
In his eyes, the ideal future wasn’t one where the Snow Elves and Froslings rose together. It was one where the Snow Elves inherited the Froslings’ greatest gift, while erasing every trace of the people who had possessed it first.
