Chapter 545: Chapter 447: From now on, you’ll be called this name, okay?
Western Regions, Wandao Sect, Demon Lord Peak.
Yu Yunwei, the Sect Leader of the Wandao Sect, was reading a report from Tinghai Pavilion.
The more she read, the deeper Yu Yunwei’s elegant brows furrowed.
According to the disciples of Tinghai Pavilion, Si Li had been in the Imperial Palace for about two months now.
Si Li suspected the Sovereign of Zhou was the reincarnation of their Senior Brother, so she had entered the Imperial Palace to investigate. Yu Yunwei could understand that.
’But she’s been in the Imperial Palace for so long. Hasn’t she confirmed the Sovereign of Zhou’s true identity yet?’
’Logically, the Zhou Kingdom is just a minor dynasty in the Mortal World, and Si Li is no weak Cultivator.’
’She’s in the Early-stage Immortal Realm!’
’If Si Li really wanted to, forget just confirming if he was their Senior Brother’s reincarnation—she could probably find out exactly who the Sovereign of Zhou takes to bed each night and for how long.’
’Could it be... the Sovereign of Zhou really is the reincarnation of our Senior Brother, and Si Li is just trying to keep him for herself? Is she deliberately keeping me in the dark?’
As Yu Yunwei put down the report, this thought suddenly popped into her head.
Once the idea took root, the more she considered it, the more plausible it seemed.
Otherwise, there was no reason for a woman like Si Li to stay in the Imperial Palace for so long.
And falling for the Sovereign of Zhou was completely out of the question.
Although Si Li appeared to be a flighty woman, it was impossible for her to truly let another man into her heart.
The only man she could ever love was their Senior Brother!
’No! I have to send someone else to the Imperial City to check things out,’ Yu Yunwei thought. ’I can’t possibly trust that hussy, Si Li, anymore.’
After some thought, Yu Yunwei decided she could send Ning Wei to the Zhou Kingdom.
Ning Wei was a young girl their Senior Brother had brought back. She had always looked up to him as a real older brother and likely held no romantic feelings for him.
Besides, Ning Wei was completely loyal to her, like a younger sister. Much more reliable than that hussy Si Li.
Furthermore, even though Ning Wei hadn’t reached the Upper Three Realms, her Nascent Soul Realm strength was more than enough to establish her own sect. She was powerful enough to be addressed as an old ancestor.
Ning Wei also wasn’t the type to go looking for trouble, so she should be safe traveling through the World of Ten Thousand Laws.
Besides, Ning Wei was currently stuck at a bottleneck, unable to advance. A journey through the World of Ten Thousand Laws might be just what she needed to gain some insight and make a breakthrough.
"Sister Yunwei!"
Just as Yu Yunwei had made up her mind, Ning Wei rushed in.
"Ah, Ning Wei, you’re here. Perfect timing. There’s a favor I need to ask of you," Yu Yunwei said with a gentle smile. "I want you to leave the Western Regions and make a trip to the Zhou Kingdom. What do you think?"
"The Zhou Kingdom? I mean, that’s not a problem..."
Ning Wei blinked, but then she quickly remembered why she had come.
"Wait, no, Sister Yunwei, forget about that for a second! It’s the Valley of a Myriad Flowers! Something’s happened there!"
"Something’s happened in the Valley of a Myriad Flowers?" Yu Yunwei’s expression turned serious. "What is it?"
"I... I don’t know how to explain it. Sister Yunwei, you... you have to go see for yourself! All I can say is, over at the valley... something is... strange..."
Ning Wei was so frantic she looked ready to jump out of her skin.
Seeing Ning Wei in such a state, Yu Yunwei asked no more questions. She hurried out of the room and flew toward the Valley of a Myriad Flowers.
In less time than it takes to drink a cup of tea, Yu Yunwei arrived in the skies above the Valley of a Myriad Flowers.
As far as the eye could see, tens of thousands of Blood Demon Flowers still blanketed the entire valley. This sea of blossoms, covering the mountains and plains, swayed gently in the spring breeze, a faint, sweet fragrance permeating the air.
Such was the nature of the Blood Demon Flower. It would either not bloom for a millennium, or once it did, it would not wither for centuries. At its peak, its beauty could last for a thousand years.
Yu Yunwei had personally witnessed these Blood Demon Flowers bloom, and she had returned to the Valley of a Myriad Flowers from time to time since then.
As such, she had grown accustomed to the beautiful sight of the red flowers covering the mountainside.
But today, the Blood Demon Flowers seemed much redder than before.
As Yu Yunwei extended her spiritual sense, she could clearly feel the Spiritual Power in the Valley of a Myriad Flowers constantly converging on a single point.
Yu Yunwei looked toward that spot. It was her Senior Brother’s grave.
In front of the tombstone was a single, delicate Blood Demon Flower.
Yu Yunwei descended from the air and walked to her Senior Brother’s grave, her eyes fixed on the flower.
A spring breeze swept through the Valley of a Myriad Flowers.
Countless red petals were caught by the breeze, filling the air. They danced and swirled before, as if guided by an unseen force, drifting down toward that single Blood Demon Flower.
Thousands of petals enveloped the Blood Demon Flower in front of her Senior Brother’s grave.
Yu Yunwei waited in silence.
A short while later, another gust of wind blew through, and the petals began to scatter.
In the center of the swirling petals, the original Blood Demon Flower was gone.
In its place sat a little girl, as exquisitely cute as a porcelain doll.
The girl looked to be about three years old.
She had fair skin and a round, chubby face still full of baby fat. Her soft little hands were pudgy, and her fair, tender limbs were as cute and plump as lotus roots.
’Yunwei, Master once said that if she had another life, she would want to be a Blood Demon Flower, blooming in an endless valley.’
Looking at the little girl before her, a spirit born from a Blood Demon Flower, Yu Yunwei’s gaze wavered as she recalled the words her Senior Brother had once spoken to her.
A moment later, the little girl’s brows knitted together slightly before smoothing out. Her long eyelashes fluttered.
The doll-like little girl slowly opened her eyes. She sat up in a daze, plopping down in the field of flowers like a little duckling, and looked curiously at the woman before her.
Seeing a human for the first time, the little girl’s expression showed a hint of nervousness and fear.
And yet, for some unknown reason, she felt a strange sense of familiarity and warmth toward the woman before her.
Yu Yunwei stepped forward, her fingertips guiding the surrounding petals of the Blood Demon Flowers.
The petals landed on the little girl’s body.
Yu Yunwei wove the petals into a small red dress, clothing the little girl in her creation.
"Thank you, Miss..." the little girl said in a sweet, clear voice, looking down at the beautiful red dress.
"You’re welcome," Yu Yunwei said with a gentle smile, reaching out to stroke the little girl’s head. "What’s your name?"
"A name..." The little girl thought hard for a moment before shaking her head emphatically. Her large, limpid eyes looked up at Yu Yunwei. "Miss... I... I don’t have a name..."
"No name? In that case, how about I give you one?" Yu Yunwei said gently.
"Yes, please!" the little girl chirped, nodding eagerly, her eyes full of anticipation.
"Hmm..."
Yu Yunwei pretended to think for a moment, then her eyes lit up.
"I’ve got it. Since you were born from a Blood Demon Flower, let’s keep it simple."
"Blood Demon..."
Yu Yunwei gently squeezed the little girl’s soft cheek.
"From now on, that will be your name. Okay?"
