Chapter 4389 - Facing the Enemy
Chapter 4389 - Facing the Enemy
Tianming had made all the preparations he could against the five pantheons' army. First, he rapidly took the first ten billion troops as prisoners to force the two imperatores away. Then, he infiltrated Sundown and Ninefirm Imperius to force two more pantheons to back out of the fight, effectively taking out half of the five pantheons' forces. He didn't expect, however, that the three remaining factions were still willing to fight a battle to the death under those circumstances.
"It seems like they truly hate me to the bone." Were the three remaining factions just doing this because they had to vent their hatred for Tianming no matter what?
"The only explanation is that they're getting so desperate that they're no longer making sense," Wudi said.
"That could be it too," Tianming agreed. The Eightpart Pantheons were far too arrogant. The way they saw it, Tianming and the Primordial Sands should've been ants that they could stomp out easily, but didn't do so simply because they didn't have a way to go to the Primordial Sands. Once they gained access, they immediately planned to stomp them out, only for the ants to bite back so hard that their legs were going to rot off.
Yin Chen did report that the arguments were incredibly intense when Imperator Yan retreated with the troops of Starfall Pantheon. "Their alliance was one of mutual interest at the end of the day. There's no way that they would stay united when their interests misalign."
Tianming had exploited the individual faction's weaknesses to undermine their alliance. The only three factions that remained were the ones with the most resentment against Tianming. It wasn't that they weren't aware of his plans. However, there was nothing they could stop the countless conflicts that had accumulated over the years in the Eightpart Pantheons from being exploited.
"There's no other choice. We have to give this fight our all. Once we weather the brunt of their final desperate push, we should buy ourselves enough time to recuperate and grow." Tianming calmly continued his preparations as the enemy troops approached the Sun. First, he had everyone that he needed to protect get on board the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb and head to the Primordial Sands. It was practically impossible for the enemy to get to them.
Additionally, he created a defense line at the location between the Sun and the pathway. The Sun's heavy cavalry would comprise Tianming's ghoul army and Wudi's flameyellow fiends. Finally, the side of the Flameyellow Guard Formation that the enemy was heading towards was burning brightly like magma, ready to receive them. War drums rumbled while cries of massive beasts echoed in the background.
"Tianming! Tianming!"
"Flameyellow Emperor!"
The faithful cry of the warriors united their wills. Even the countless flameyellow descendants in the fortuna-class worlds were witnessing the fight as they fought alongside Tianming. The light of the Tianming Dynasty didn't just spread like wildfire; it had spanned the entire Upper Star Ruin and many Lower Star Ruins. Half the universe was basking in its light. All that was left out were the imperial and maniverse-class worlds of the enemy.
This was a fight to restore their former glory! Even if Tianming wasn't fighting all eight of the pantheons, it was nevertheless a decisive battle. The Sun had already won the first battle earlier and what Tianming had done to get Sundown and Starfall to pull back bolstered the confidence of the Flameyellow warriors even more. They were even more convinced when they saw the little empress follow along with Tianming no matter where he went. She was quite the famous figure to change sides.
"The devas are heavily restricted, the wonderians are facing an internal crisis, the lifeline of Starfall is in our hands and the imperator of the Sundown Pantheon retreated on his own accord. The Eightpart Pantheons' forces have diminished by half! All they can do is watch and not act!"
How could the flameyellow descendants not be convinced by his achievements? The more convinced they were, the stronger their faith became. Tianming and Wudi were also the standard bearers of the Sun. As long as they were still there, nobody would take a single step backwards.
"Zi Zhen?" Tianming turned around and saw the purple-haired girl approaching him from behind. She looked like a floating crystal in the air.
"It's me."
"Have you recovered?" Tianming hurried to her side and looked around her body.
"I'm fine!" She caught his hand before he lifted her skirt up to inspect.
"Alright, I'm glad you are." He recalled her savage battle against Huang Qi with all of her ninehall eyes open. She had been incredibly intense.
"Are you confident about winning?"
"The enemy only has sixteen billion troops left. Even if they're elites, there's no way they'll be able to take over the Sun. What we need to prepare for are the elite fighters, especially those that we don't expect," Tianming said.
"Are you ready for them? I won't be able to open my ninehall eyes unless the circumstances allow for it."
"Relax. Now that we've conquered the Sea of Aeternity, we lack the time to grow the most. If we survive this wave, the flameyellow descendants will be able to skyrocket and improve. My dynasty will grow more and more stable, which will strengthen me more and more."
"You mean to say we don't need a grand victory this time around. We just need to weather the storm while it passes."
"That's right."
Zi Zhen pointed at the pathway ahead and said, "I heard something. They're going to arrive soon."
"That's true." Tianming turned around and looked at the crumbling astral pathway. Lots of black smoke poured out from the chaos. The smoke was actually masses and masses of cosmic godbeasts.
The ashuran troops numbered more than seven billion, while they brought eighty billion cosmic godbeasts with them. They were going all in. The eighty billion cosmic godbeasts' roars shook the entire astral pathway. From the Sun, it looked like a dark malevolent universal cloud was approaching them.
The beasts were savage and terrifying, but Tianming's ghouls didn't know fear, nor were the flameyellow fiends sentient. As for the flameyellow divinities, they were fighting with their emperor by their side. Their faith would not shake even if they were faced against an enemy ten times the size.
They also saw primalwingers and specters from the Sin and Virtue Pantheons flanking the cosmic godbeasts. The infinite beastmasters of the ashuras were hidden safely within the cloud of cosmic godbeasts. The total number of troops from each faction was easily double the numbers they sent to join the vanguard army. However, their total number wasn't that much higher than the vanguard army's.
Tianming was ever so calm even as he looked at the approaching army. "Bring out the prisoners!"
Five billion flameyellow-divinity soldiers brought out six billion prisoners. There were two billion each from the Sin Pantheon, Virtue Pantheon and ashuras.
