The projected screen was only visible for a moment. Once the Rock Giant’s location was confirmed, it retracted.
"Follow me." Feifei, who looked like a cherubic doll, flapped the small wings on its back and spoke again in a high, girlish voice. It then took the lead, flying out of the research base.
Zahar followed at once without the slightest hesitation. He turned his head and said apologetically to Li Qian, "Bro, I’m gonna go contract my Pet Beast. We can chat after I’m done."
"Go take care of business. We’ll have plenty of time to chat later." Li Qian smiled and waved him off.
While they were speaking, Zahar had already followed Feifei out of the research base.
After leaving the research base, he scanned his surroundings and then followed Feifei again, heading straight in a specific direction. The excitement in his heart slowly began to bubble over.
After sprinting for about ten minutes, Zahar and Feifei arrived at their destination, one right after the other.
As far as the eye could see, there was an open clearing with sparse vegetation.
There wasn’t much else in the clearing, just three stone pillars, each about seven or eight meters tall, standing conspicuously.
Wasting no time, Feifei flew in front of the three stone pillars and circled each of them a few times.
The ground began to tremble. Stone fragments flaked off, and the three pillars revealed their true forms.
They were three Commander Level Rock Giants.
Zahar stared at the three Rock Giants awakening from the stone pillars, his eyes filled with such shock that he was left speechless.
The shock was quickly followed by wild elation.
All three Rock Giants stood about six meters tall, looking incredibly mighty and imposing.
Their stony skin had a faint sheen, giving them an indestructible appearance.
This was a clear sign of their exceptionally strong defense.
Seeing these tall, imposing, and extraordinarily mighty Rock Giants, Zahar made up his mind in an instant. ’This is the Pet Beast for me!’
"All three Rock Giants are here. Whether or not you can form a contract with one is up to you," Feifei said in its high, girlish voice as it flew back to circle around Zahar.
Brimming with confidence, Zahar patted his chest, trotted over eagerly, and began to communicate with the three Rock Giants.
Feifei, meanwhile, landed on a large, nearby tree. It activated its image transmission function, allowing Li Qian to watch the scene unfold from back at the research base.
Watching the light screen projected from his smart wristband, Li Qian saw Zahar craning his neck to communicate with the towering Rock Giants. He found it rather amusing and began to watch with great interest.
The intelligence of a Pet Beast with Dominator Level Potential is nothing to scoff at, even if they’ve only just reached the Commander Level, and even if they’re Earth-type Pet Beasts, which are notorious for not being the brightest.
So, communication wasn’t actually that difficult. Through a combination of persuasive words and hand gestures, the three Rock Giants more or less understood what Zahar was trying to say.
But understanding was one thing; convincing them to form a contract was another matter entirely.
Zahar tried with all his might, describing the various benefits of a contract, but the three Rock Giants remained unmoved.
Objectively speaking, there were definite advantages to a contract. At the very least, it would increase their growth rate and make it easier to obtain various Extraordinary Resources.
In short, a Contracted Pet Beast would certainly advance much faster than one growing naturally in the wild.
This was why most Pet Beasts weren’t opposed to forming contracts with human Beast Masters.
But this wasn’t always the case.
Some Pet Beasts were more resistant to the idea of a contract.
After all, while a contract had its benefits, it also had its limitations, the biggest issue being the loss of freedom.
Watching Zahar flounder about through Feifei’s image transmission, Li Qian shook his head and chuckled. ’Oh, well. Meeting this kid must be fate. I suppose I’ll help him out this time.’
Having made his decision, Li Qian immediately sent a command to Feifei through his smart wristband. "Feifei, go over there and help him communicate."
Feifei received the command and flew over. It spent several minutes communicating with the Rock Giant Zahar had been talking to, both speaking and gesturing.
"You can perform the contract ceremony with it now." After chattering away for a few minutes, Feifei flew back, glanced at Zahar, and spoke.
For some reason, Zahar noticed that Feifei, the cherubic creature, was giving him a strange look. It was a look of slight disdain, as if he were an idiot.
Shaking off the distracting thought, Zahar began communicating with the Rock Giant again. This time, it went smoothly, and they reached an agreement in no time.
While Zahar was busy performing the contract ceremony with the Rock Giant, Li Qian used his smart wristband to ask Feifei, "What was the problem? Why didn’t the Rock Giant want to form a contract with Zahar?"
"All three Rock Giants reported that he doesn’t seem very smart, so they don’t want to follow him." Li Qian was left speechless by the message from Feifei.

But Li Qian knew that while Zahar might be a bit simple and straightforward, he was a good person. He was determined, resilient, and full of drive. His future accomplishments would surely be impressive.
Otherwise, Li Qian wouldn’t have suggested he come to the Jade Research Base to acquire a Pet Beast.
Just as Li Qian was lost in thought, Zahar finally succeeded. He let out a long sigh of relief, a smile spreading across his face. "Phew, the contract is finally complete."
"Thank you, Feifei." Overjoyed, Zahar turned his gaze to Feifei. He had seen what happened; Feifei must have helped persuade the Rock Giant. Otherwise, its attitude wouldn’t have changed so quickly.
