He’d clearly been stuck in a mental rut, assuming that because the Four-tailed Cat was of the Spiritual Element, it must require spiritual-type Extraordinary Resources.
Li Qian’s heart filled with anticipation at the thought. ’Whether this is actually true or not, I’ll have to test it to find out.’
The means of verification was simple: he just had to wait right where he was for feedback from his Golden Finger.
As it turned out, his guess was correct. Soon enough, an electronic notification sounded in his mind.

Upon "hearing" the familiar electronic prompt, a smile touched Li Qian’s lips. ’So it’s true.’
Now, all he had to do was find an Extraordinary Resource that could enhance a Pet Beast’s physical constitution.
Li Qian felt he was incredibly close to completing the task—just one final step away.
Beside him, Lu Tianjiao saw the smile creeping onto Li Qian’s face and couldn’t help but groan. "Dude, do you have to mess with me like this?"
Li Qian smirked and immediately denied it. "I’m not messing with you. I’m guessing that Mary really does still have feelings for you."
"Otherwise, when she was being controlled by that evil Extraordinary Creature, why else would she have come straight for your dorm?"
"How do you know she wasn’t coming to kill me?" Lu Tianjiao couldn’t help but shudder as he recalled the events of that night.
"At least it proves you’re always on her mind," Li Qian said with a shameless laugh, continuing to tease him.
"Nope. I’m deeply wounded. You have to treat me to a meal," Lu Tianjiao said, full of resentment, giving Li Qian a shameless, pestering look.
Li Qian gestured toward the first cafeteria and laughed. "Go ahead. Cafeteria Number One. Get whatever you want."
"Don’t mind if I do, then." Hearing this, Lu Tianjiao’s appetite was whetted. He immediately turned and strode out of Xianya Garden.
Li Qian naturally followed right behind him. It was noon, after all, and he needed to eat too.
He had told him to order whatever he liked, but once they were actually at Cafeteria Number One, the guy showed a surprising amount of restraint.
"Don’t hold back. Even if you ate everything on the menu here, you couldn’t possibly bankrupt me," Li Qian said with a generous laugh, noticing that Lu Tianjiao hadn’t ordered much.
"This place is what it is. Nothing I order here would make you break a sweat. I’d rather save this favor for a proper restaurant outside of school next time." Lu Tianjiao was clearly playing the long game.
Li Qian shot him a sidelong glance. "You think there’s going to be a ’next time’? Forget it. This is a one-time offer."
After more than half an hour of bickering and eating, the two returned to their dorm. When Lu Tianjiao saw Li Qian pull out a pair of VR glasses, he asked, "What’s that for?"
Li Qian put on the VR glasses without a second thought, casually explaining, "It’s the weekend and I’ve got nothing better to do. Figured I’d do some reading."
"Do you really have to grind that hard?" Lu Tianjiao’s face fell instantly.
"I’m in the breeding specialization. It’s not like you combat majors. I have to accumulate a ton of knowledge," Li Qian explained.
"Guess I’ll do some reading, too," Lu Tianjiao said with mock seriousness. As he spoke, he also took out his own VR glasses and put on a pair of headphones.
Li Qian saw right through him but didn’t call him out. ’Who needs headphones to read? That guy is definitely just going to watch videos or binge a show.’
After a while, Lu Tianjiao suddenly asked, "By the way, what have you been researching lately?"
Seeing that he was planning to laze around here all afternoon, Li Qian didn’t overthink it and answered casually, "Ever hear of the One-tailed Cat?"
"You’re researching *that* thing?!" Lu Tianjiao’s face was a mask of astonishment.
"What, you know about the One-tailed Cat?" Li Qian asked, his interest now slightly piqued.
Lu Tianjiao chuckled, pulling a badge from his Spatial Equipment. He placed it in front of Li Qian, showing it off.
"An Adventurer’s Badge... it’s an Ordinary Adventurer’s Badge!" Li Qian stared at the badge Lu Tianjiao had produced, a little stunned.
Li Qian had recognized the badge the moment Lu Tianjiao took it out, as its shape and design were almost identical to his own.
Except... for the background color.
"You actually got an Ordinary Adventurer’s Badge?!" Li Qian reined in his surprise and looked at Lu Tianjiao, his eyes full of questions.
Lu Tianjiao smugly brandished the badge and started acting cool. "It’s nothing special. It’s not that rare for a high school student to get an Adventurer’s Badge, you know."
Li Qian’s lips twitched. ’This guy,’ he thought, ’he really never misses an opportunity to show off.’
"You’ve been to a Dimension Plane recently?" Li Qian asked, glancing at the guy’s Adventurer’s Badge.
Lu Tianjiao nodded, stating the obvious. "How else would I know about the One-tailed Cat if I hadn’t been to a Dimension Plane?"
"After all, the whole thing has been stirring up a lot of buzz in Yuntian City lately."
As he spoke, a thought seemed to strike him. "Wait, you have an Adventurer’s Badge too?"
Li Qian gave a wry smile. "Not like yours. Mine’s just an Apprentice Adventurer’s Badge."
"Figured anything out yet?" Lu Tianjiao didn’t seem surprised that Li Qian had an Apprentice Adventurer’s Badge and pressed on with his questions.
"A little something..." Li Qian answered vaguely, clearly not intending to elaborate.
They chatted until nearly three in the afternoon, at which point Lu Tianjiao left. He had his own business to attend to, after all, and couldn’t just bum around Li Qian’s place all day.
And just like that, three days passed. During that time, outside of his classes, Li Qian spent nearly every waking moment focused on his second task.
After three days of research, Li Qian had finally made some headway. He had narrowed down the possibilities to a few specific Extraordinary Resources.
That afternoon, his classes ended a little before four. Li Qian immediately headed for the school’s Pet Beast Center.
The Pet Beast Center served not only as the entrance to the Adventurer’s Hall but also sold various Extraordinary Resources to the public.
Li Qian wanted to see if they had what he was looking for.
