Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 302 - 273: Right Here in Xianya Garden

Teacher Xu knew very well that with so many prying eyes and wagging tongues, this was hardly the time for explanations. Treating the injured was the top priority.

The injured female student appeared to have already received some treatment, but in his eyes, it was a stopgap measure at best.

To get her proper medical care and ensure she was out of danger, they had to get to the infirmary as soon as possible.

Besides, in addition to the injured girl, both Li Qian and Lu Tianjiao were scraped up and also needed treatment. This really wasn't the time to discuss things.

"Alright, break it up! The situation is resolved. It's late, so all of you should head back and get some rest. Don't just stand around here." After hearing Li Qian, Teacher Xu immediately understood his reasoning and followed his lead, issuing instructions to the crowd.

The spectating students heard Teacher Xu, but they showed no signs of leaving. Both Li Qian and Teacher Xu felt a little helpless about it.

Forcibly dispersing them now would be inappropriate. After all, loving a good spectacle was a classic trait of the Dongxia People. Even these cream-of-the-crop students from the Eight Great academies were no exception.

In light of this, Teacher Xu didn't hesitate and summoned one of his Pet Beasts: a Car Robot.

As the Summoning Array flared to life, an unassuming sedan materialized out of thin air. Teacher Xu gestured, and the car drove up to them on its own.

"Get in!" After barking the order, he wasted no more time and got into the car first.

Seeing this, Li Qian didn't hesitate either. He called out to Lu Tianjiao, who was holding the injured student, and quickly climbed into the car right after Teacher Xu.

VROOOM...

The four of them piled into the car, and the engine immediately roared to life.

Clearly, desperate times called for desperate measures. Teacher Xu was about to floor it.

Many of the students thought the same thing. Just as they silently cleared a path, ready to leave, something astonishing happened.

Under the crowd's astonished gaze, the car shot forward, then began to transform. With a series of mechanical clicks and whirs, the unassuming sedan reconfigured itself in the blink of an eye, becoming a small aircraft that soared into the sky.

"To switch between driving and Flying modes that smoothly... Teacher Xu's Car Robot has to be at least Dominator Level, right?" one student mused, watching the transformation.

The words were barely out of his mouth when another student next to him corrected him. "Have some confidence. Drop the 'right?'. It's *definitely* Dominator Level, and probably a high one at that."

"..."

As the students chattered among themselves, the girl from the Snow Race, Xue Yuan, murmured softly from a short distance away, "Yueyue, let's go."

With that, her figure melted into the crowd and vanished in the blink of an eye.

It wasn't until after she left that a student finally realized, "Wait, didn't that girl from the Snow Race also make a move?"

One student brought it up, sparking a discussion, but the topic quickly veered off course.

"She's gorgeous. She's literally the Goddess of my dreams."

"Dude, stop dreaming. You'll never have a shot with a Goddess of that caliber in your entire life."

"Whether I have a shot is one thing, but that doesn't stop me from being a fan."

"Fan? More like a total simp."

"..."

It was late, after all, and most of the students hadn't seen the main event anyway. So after Li Qian and his group left, the crowd gradually dispersed, heading back to their dorms.

As the students headed back, no one noticed that a figure had appeared in the lakeside pavilion, standing silently in the distance.

The figure, shrouded in the darkness of night, was impossible to make out clearly. He simply stood there, his lips moving as he spoke in a low voice. "Senior, why didn't you intervene just now?"

As his words faded, a few bubbles suddenly broke the surface of the lake outside the pavilion. A moment later, a somewhat hoarse voice rang out.

The hoarse voice wasn't a physical sound but a form of Telepathy that echoed in the figure's mind. 'This is the academy. Nothing truly bad would have happened. An incident like this is rare, a good opportunity to give them some practical experience.'

The figure nodded slightly at the response but still felt the need to add, "I trust your judgment and that you have things under control. However, that boy... Lu Ming... he's Lu Saint's son. I hope you'll keep an extra eye on him..."

The hoarse voice went silent for a moment before replying with a hint of emotion. 'His son, you say? Judging by his character, he really does take after him.'

'Don't worry. As a... comrade-in-arms who fought beside him, I will take good care of his son...'

The hoarse voice spoke with a touch of nostalgia. 'After all, if it weren't for him, I might not have made it back. I certainly wouldn't have this chance to live out my days in peace.'

"Senior, don't say that!" the figure said anxiously. "Things will get better. You might even be able to advance further."

The Sandbar's voice gave a bitter laugh. 'Advance further? Heh. I'm content just to cling to life, borrowing my old friend's body to watch over the flames of hope for a while longer.'

The two voices conversed for a few more moments, unnoticed by anyone. After a while, the figure cut to the chase. "By the way, have you found the one pulling the strings?"

The hoarse voice seemed to ponder for a moment before responding. 'There was a flash of malevolent Energy, but it was fleeting and well-hidden. I could only pinpoint a general direction.'

"Where?" the figure pressed immediately.

He had come here for the sole purpose of finding the true culprit.

'Right here, in Xianya Garden.'

The hoarse voice sounded again, just as grave. 'Judging by the Energy signature, the Blood Demon Cultist hiding in the shadows isn't very powerful.'

'However, their concealment technique is exceptionally skilled. Even I only caught the faintest trace.'

Hearing this, the figure cast a grim look in the direction of Xianya Garden. "In that case, flushing them out won't be easy..."

The words had barely faded when the figure vanished in a flash. The lakeside pavilion was empty, as if no one had ever been there at all. All that remained were the occasional bubbles rising to the surface of the lake...
