Chapter 415: Saleen’s Preparation (Part 1)

Nailisi was imagining in her mind and her facial expression grew creepy, but luckily Saleen did not notice that. If Saleen were to see Nailisi’s expression, he would find it disturbing. The little demon would only act so when she was hiding something important from him.

Nailisi’s plan was good, but she did not think about how the living environment in the demon dimension was extremely harsh. If she were to summon large amounts of magic bugs and she lost control of them, it would create a huge trouble in the Myers Mainland.

If there were only a few big demons, it would be easy for a gathering of the strong on the Mainland to kill them. There were not many people like Joey, but it would definitely be more than one. When a big demon came to their dimension, just like the three Kings, their capabilities would be restricted unless they followed a strong master. They would then be able to avoid such a situation.

It would be different for magic bug. A magic bug was a low level creature, even after it got summoned, its capabilities would remain almost the same. Every type of magic bug shared a similarity, which was a strong reproduction system. The magic bugs ate everything regardless of the living environment. Once they were to run rampant, Myers Mainland would be in for a disaster.

It would be impossible if Nailisi wanted to control millions of magic bugs, unless she were to reach Joey’s level.

The winged skeleton knew what Nailisi was thinking about. He was a spirit of the dead and he did not care how many people would die on Myers Mainland, it would only turn into another death dimension at worst.

Saleen did not pay attention to Nailisi. He took the dimension stones to the huge hidden space underneath the temple. Besides the material that Saleen hid there for preparation to build magic towers, there were many assets and equipments that Lex left behind. There were the magic beast shells and magic nuclei that he obtained from the trip to Oceanic Ice Block also. All of those did not even take up one tenth of the huge space.

That space was not a magic space, but merely all the rocks were dug out from underground. The earliest pathway was sealed off entirely and they would only be able to enter via teleportation portal.

Most of the material on the ground was dug out from the space and Saleen was satisfied with his work. Such a huge storehouse was completed by him alone. To make the storehouse, he fully sharpen his manipulation of the current cutter skill to perfection.

The material in a dimension stone was taken out one by one. The sunken ship was not far away from the harbor, but Nailisi spent a week’s time before she returned. It was difficult to retrieve due to its location in the deep sea. Saleen needed practical material and if they were all put into the dimension stone at her convenience, it would cause substance breakdown.

The second dynasty warship was dissected into numerous materials and alchemy parts. The value of all the complete materials that lay in the sea would be unpredictable. If the deck of the ship was made of a piece of thundercloud wood and was to be made into shields, it could be made into dozens of them and everyone of them would have stronger defence than a stainless steel shield. How would a stainless steel shield not be able to store magic perfectly when the thundercloud wood itself was a magic material.

Nailisi dissected them carefully without damaging the material. Saleen took out pieces of thundercloud wood and stacked them up. The thundercloud wood was from the giant dimension and he heard that a matured thundercloud wood tree would grow above the clouds and withstand thunder striking. Thundercloud wood was obviously one of the best material that the second dynasty used to build warships. The wood did not rot after tens of thousands years of being in corrosive sea water.

The magic that was used to piece the woods together lost its effect. Glue would not be sufficient to hold its form as a warship. Nailisi was mainly facing pressure underwater when she was dissecting them.

Divinecherry wood was one of the materials on the warship too. Besides that, there were some other smaller woods that were used to build the building on the deck of the ship. Nailisi collected all these woods with the greatest of care and Saleen was organizing them accordingly.

There were many things that were corroded on the warship, such as alchemy materials that were frequently used. Nailisi did not bother with its condition but brought everything back. There were some weapon equipments that were stored in the box that was made of divinecherry wood. Saleen found many that could still be used and the weapons were at least holy equipment at the current time.

The very first time when they discovered the warship remains, Saleen did not react too excitedly as he did not think there would be many items that could be stored underwater for tens of thousands of years. Now he was getting excited. The items that Nailisi retrieved were enough for him to duplicate another two hundred meter long warship. He could also use the dragon skeleton as the keel of the warship.

Saleen also found twelve cannons, but they did not look like magic cannons nor stone artillery. They were three meter long circular metal tubes that were placed on a square metal stand. The cannon barrel was thicker compared to a magic cannon, hollowed with no crystal inlaid around the cannon tip.

The cannons were badly corroded and the magic patterns on the cannons could not be identified anymore.

God knows when Nailisi went through the magic array and got in. She spoke behind Saleen, “Master, I need to tell you something.”

“What is it?” Saleen looked at Nailisi’s furtive manner and found it strange.

“In the remain of the warship, there were some bones that I passed to winged skeleton.”

“That is all?”

“Master, the winged skeleton asked for those bones, would he want to rebel?”

“What are you talking about? Nailisi, are you hiding something from me?” Saleen only felt something odd then.

Nailisi panicked and an idea popped in her mind, she replied smugly, “Master, I of course am hiding something from you. I am a pure blooded little demon. You try to guess, what is it.”

Saleen heard Nailisi’s reply and he lost interest, “If you want to tell me then hurry up. I am not in the mood for guessing otherwise.”

Nailisi was smug with success. She blinked her eyes and said, “Forget it then. I will tell you sooner or later.”

Saleen quickly changed the topic and said, “Nailisi, go look for Aini and let the three Kings continue to mend the city. Although they have yet to recover from their injuries, they can summon new skeletons. It’s been a few months, the city wall was only built halfway. I want them to prepare the material so when Lex’s people come, they can start with the last part immediately.”

“Master, I’ll go now, but…”

“What’s your problem?”

“It’s not me. I’ve calculated, we should send someone to get Lex.”

“I’m preparing. This time I need to make a batch of armor. We have to at least send five-hundred people. Phoenix is far from tranquil, if we send any less people, even a mage might be attacked.

“Master, there are magic chariots in those warships from the eastern sea. Why not salvage them too? If we could repair them and use them to bring Lex’s people, it would be much safer.”

“You went to see?”

“Yes, about seven to eight chariots that could be fixed. Master, I saw the storehouse of the ships. There was not any food, but there are some weapons that could be used instantly after retrieval.”

“You go ahead with it. I’ll pass you a dimension stone. Don’t lose it.” Saleen gave Nailisi a dimension stone. After she left, he was still at the huge space, looking at the pile of material and started thinking.

Back then, when they brought swordsmen and sailing crews from Sregl Island, they were not fully staffed. They only had half of a standard staffing. Saleen relied on the bigger number of mages to drive to their destination, but it was actually unnecessary to have too many mages on a warship. If he were to remove the mages, there would not be enough sailing crews as he only had enough staff for half a warship at the moment.

To make a new warship, he only had material but no blueprint. Even if he had a blueprint, he had too little people that could make alchemy parts without equipment. He had to rely on the three Kings for that again.

After the production of a new warship, technically all the sailing crews and the swordsmen of Sregl Island had to be on it. He would only be left with a bunch of pirates then. Could he ask for swordsmen from Aini and Irene? Either one of them would be unhappy. Those two depended on their swordsmen on a regular basis after all. To leave everything from their family behind and to follow these two younger generations to a strange man’s city was a lot to ask. Even if he wanted to use it himself, how to use it would be a problem.

Using the barbarians as scouts, they would make do as mercenaries. Compared to a regular army, these were a bunch of rude people and difficulty to train would be a concern.

It seemed that he could only used the pirates that he had taken control over as the core members. Fortunately, Gurney was a very capable person. With Saleen’s support, Gurney managed to whip the two hundred pirates into obedience and they could carry out orders strictly.

Among Jupiter’s bunch, there were quite a number of carpenters and they could make simple armors and weapon. He had enough ready made armors as of then and those people would not be able to help much.

Saleen shook his head and sighed. He could only vent his emotions when there was no one around him. He used a dimension stone to collect ready made armors and equipment, then he kept a number of red phosphorous prawns’ shells and a grade-4 magic nucleus.

The heavy armors were for the Barbarians. Although the Barbarians did not train for sword aura, their strength was parallel to the Caucasus people. It would not affect them much to wear the heavy armors. The Barbarians could not use any magic weapons, but they could use the normal alchemy arrows. A sharpened alchemy arrow with a tough bow would not be any weaker than a low level magic.

Saleen picked corresponding materials and put them into the dimension stone one by one. He then left his secret storehouse.

The task to usher Lex was more important. Saleen reckoned that Lex would return in another two months maximum. Within the two months, he wanted to put together a strong force to meet up with Lex in the south.

According to the situation then, even if the mages that he sent did not run into Lex, she would not return to Lianyun city either. Saleen only needed to usher Lex from Phoenix. According to Saleen’s presumption, Lex would at least bring forth a swordsmen’s camp for the new city.

The selected ten thousand would not have much of a problem. If they were to be in a war, healing would be troublesome. Him sending people to usher them was mainly to bring more supplies to them in case Lex’s underlinings faced such problems.

Besides that reason, Saleen wanted to show off his skill. Not to Lex but to Lex’s underlinings. Those people would belittled him otherwise. Although he was a grade-5 mage, compared to Lex, he might be inadequate.

“The commoner’s matters are so troublesome.” Saleen walked out from the teleportation portal and hid the magic pattern on the ground. Then, he shouted, “Bring forth Kredian and the rest.”
