Back to the 80s: Raising my Wolfy Boyfriend

Chapter 1135: That Is a Life from Hell

Chapter 1135: Chapter 1135: That Is a Life from Hell

Gu Jin’s gaze toward Zhen Jie couldn’t really be called sympathy.

It was more a lofty, overlooking kind of stare, or maybe a sigh from someone standing at a different height.

In their last life they were both mired in the swamp, pitiful together, yet utterly helpless.

In this life, she had broken every shackle and now had the capital to do whatever she wanted.

If possible, lending Zhen Jie a hand was no big deal.

Hearing this, Zhen Jie’s body, still lying on the floor, trembled slightly.

Complex emotions flashed in his eyes, along with a trace of stubbornness: "Really?"

Zhen Jie simply didn’t believe Gu Jin would be willing to help him.

After all, everything the Zhen Family had done to her back then—he’d seen it all with his own eyes.

Some things he didn’t fail to understand; he just couldn’t do anything about them.

"If you can give me a reason, I might consider helping you."

Gu Jin used the handkerchief that had just wiped the blood off her fingertips to clean the bloodstained face of Zhen Jie.

As she wiped, that roguishly handsome face of his slowly emerged.

The teenager had gotten thinner; all the flesh on his face was gone.

Seeing Zhen Jie’s familiar face appear before her eyes, Gu Jin felt a lot more at ease inside.

Now he finally looked human again—still the Zhen Jie who carried his little pride from past life to present.

She stuffed the handkerchief into Zhen Jie’s hand and slowly stood up: "My time is limited. You’d better make use of it."

As if she felt it wasn’t quite right to have Zhen Jie just lying on the ground like that.

Gu Jin spoke to Zhen Youzhi and He Yuchun not far away: "Help him onto the sofa."

The couple immediately stepped forward, lifting Zhen Jie from the floor and putting him on the sofa.

Gu Jin sat across from Zhen Jie, at that marble table.

Waiting for the boy before her, whose wings had been broken, to speak.

Zhen Jie gripped the handkerchief in his hand, his voice hoarse and dry as he slowly recounted what had happened.

Everything began with Qin Zihao.

Nobody knew how Qin Zihao had ended up mixed up with Liu Bochang.

He’d also taken a fancy to Zhen Lingling. Back then the Qin Family hadn’t fallen yet, and in order to curry favor with them, Liu Bochang actually premeditated getting Zhen Lingling drunk.

Then he personally delivered Zhen Lingling to Qin Zihao.

That beast was a complete psycho.

Liu Bochang watched with his eyes wide open as Zhen Lingling was ruined by that animal Qin Zihao.

He even used high-end filming equipment to record a crystal-clear video.

By the time Zhen Lingling woke up, everything was already set in stone.

After working together once, Liu Bochang and Qin Zihao put their heads together and actually came up with even more "games."

They tortured and abused Zhen Lingling, never treating her like a real human being, just like a dog.

And that wasn’t all—they even had other people touch her.

Zhen Lingling couldn’t bear it anymore; her mind was on the verge of collapse.

She went to Zhen Youzhi and He Yuchun, begging them in tears to save her.

But the Qin Family was at its peak then; how could the Zhen Family afford to offend them?

The couple told her to endure it—once the men lost interest, she’d survive it.

Yet over these years Liu Bochang had kept several other "dogs" outside, and he’d never shown any sign of losing interest.

Zhen Lingling knelt down, kowtowed to them, begging with tears streaming down her face.

Even if Zhen Youzhi and He Yuchun’s hearts ached for their daughter, they still didn’t agree.

Zhen Jie happened to witness this scene. With anger surging in his chest, he went to get revenge on Qin Zihao and Liu Bochang.

He went to the nightclub the two often visited. Very unfortunately, Liu Bochang wasn’t there that day.

He ended up in a fight with Qin Zihao.

The two beat each other bloody; Zhen Jie even spent the night in the hospital. Qin Zihao was injured too, but his injuries were much lighter.

That night Qin Zihao crossed paths with Yu Shuo, and Yu Shuo broke Qin Zihao’s leg.

Unable to provoke Yu Shuo, Qin Zihao shifted his anger onto Zhen Jie, and while Zhen Jie was hospitalized, he sent people to break one of his legs.

Zhen Jie hated them—hated his family for marrying his sister off for profit, hated the Liu Family’s cruelty, hated Liu Bochang for degrading his sister.

He hated the Qin Family, hated Qin Zihao for humiliating his sister, hated Qin Zhenzhen for wrecking his reputation everywhere, getting pregnant by some other man and insisting on framing him for it.

During this time, Zhen Lingling hadn’t jumped off the building yet, and Grandpa was still alive.

After Zhen Jie was discharged, Qin Zihao still wouldn’t let him go.

Whenever he was in a bad mood, he’d come to the Zhen Family and have people "teach" him a lesson.

Zhen Jie endured all of it.

In Beijing, any random prominent family could crush them to death.

Aside from enduring, there was nothing they could do.

Until the deaths of Old Master Zhen and Zhen Lingling pushed Zhen Jie’s hatred to its peak.

Zhen Lingling had been driven to her death by Qin Zihao and Liu Bochang.

They had literally forced her to die.

If Zhen Lingling had so much as a sliver of will to live left, she wouldn’t have chosen to end her life.

Zhen Jie knew his second sister too well.

With his leg crippled, Qin Zihao treated him that viciously; you could imagine what kind of days Zhen Lingling had been living.

But that still wasn’t enough—after the Qin Family fell, Qin Zhenzhen, wanting to stay on in Beijing, actually latched onto the Zhen Family.

The child in her belly was absolutely not Zhen Jie’s.

Zhen Jie had never so much as touched her.

Qin Zihao even treated the Zhen household as if it were his own home; every time he came, he had to watch his men beat the crap out of Zhen Jie before he’d leave satisfied.

By the time Zhen Jie finished his painful account, the faint smile on Gu Jin’s face had long vanished.

She swept her gaze over the guilty Zhen Youzhi and He Yuchun, sarcasm flashing in her eyes.

This was what they called reaping what they’d sown.

If they hadn’t been greedy, none of this would be happening today.

The Liu Family was trouble they’d gone out and courted; the Qin Family even more so.

Every last bit of it came from their greed.

Gu Jin sighed softly in her heart, looking over the bedraggled Zhen Jie in front of her, so different from the carefree boy he had been.

"If you trust me, then come with me."

Before he could respond, she got to her feet, pointed at the Qin siblings, and instructed Linda: "Throw them into the station. They’re going to bear criminal responsibility for everything they’ve done. I’ll give the word so they can properly enjoy a life straight out of Hell."

"Yes, Miss Gu."

Linda made a phone call, and soon several tall, burly subordinates of the Darwin Family strode into the Zhen Family’s hall.

They easily hoisted up Qin Zihao, Qin Zhenzhen, and a few of their men and took them away.

Gu Jin turned back, meeting Zhen Jie’s assessing gaze.

She asked, "Have you decided?"

"Why?" Zhen Jie’s voice was hoarse, rough.

"Your leg has been delayed too long. The hospital can’t treat it anymore. Right now, other than me, there’s basically no one who can heal you."

Zhen Jie lowered his head, staring at the leg that could no longer feel anything, a look of restrained hatred twisting his features.

It only took a few seconds for him to give his answer.

"Alright!"

"Zhen Jie! You’re leaving my parents?" He Yuchun lunged forward, crying nonstop, her tone full of reluctance.

Gu Jin didn’t spare the woman a glance. She lifted her chin toward Linda and turned to leave.

Linda walked up to Zhen Jie, lifted him easily with one arm, and scooped him into a princess carry.

Just like that, she held him effortlessly in her arms.

Even though Zhen Jie was a teenager, he was still a grown man with weight to him.

Zhen Jie was caught completely off guard.

By the time he realized he’d been picked up by a woman, his face went the color of pig liver—spectacular to behold.
