Back to the 1980s: Becoming the Villain's Lucky Wife

Chapter 673 - 703: How Could She Know His Dream

Chapter 673: Chapter 703: How Could She Know His Dream

Shen Feng had a beard and a buzz cut. He was gaunt—his cheeks were sunken, and his eyes were lifeless. His prison uniform hung loosely on his frame.

But the moment he saw Qin Jiao through the glass, a faint ripple disturbed the stagnant pools of his eyes.

Shen Feng hurried to the glass partition and picked up the phone.

He was agitated, his hand trembling slightly as he held the phone.

In contrast to his agitation, Qin Jiao was far more composed. Her expression was placid, betraying no hint of joy or sorrow.

Shen Yi, on the other hand, was glaring at Shen Feng. If it weren’t for the glass partition, he probably would have charged over to give him a good beating.

After sitting down, Qin Jiao picked up the phone. "Did you need something?"

Shen Feng tightened his grip on the phone. ’To be honest, there wasn’t anything specific.’

’What could he even say? Beg for Qin Jiao’s forgiveness?’

In truth, Shen Feng had never wanted to kidnap Qin Jiao in the first place. He wouldn’t have agreed to it if circumstances hadn’t forced his hand.

And later, when he learned that Qin Jiao had escaped, he had actually breathed a sigh of relief.

But Shen Feng was smart enough to know that her escape meant their scheme had been exposed, and things would not end well.

He hesitated.

After all, he couldn’t bring himself to abandon his mother.

So by the time he snapped out of it, Lin Nian and Lu Jiuan were long gone, and he was apprehended at the train station.

After a long silence, Shen Feng finally spoke. "Qin Jiao, I’m sorry. I never wanted to kidnap you."

"You threw a fit and threatened suicide to get me here just to say you’re sorry? Fine, Shen Feng. I’ll tell you right now, I don’t forgive you. Even though I escaped, the stress sent me into premature labor. If I hadn’t been lucky enough to find someone to help me, it would have been three deaths—my two babies and me. In light of that, why on earth should I forgive you?"

Shen Feng froze, and then tears of regret streamed down his face.

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry..." he kept muttering, as if repeating the words could undo what he had done.

Qin Jiao’s expression remained unchanged.

Shen Yi muttered, "Jiao Jiao, if he doesn’t have anything else to say, let’s go."

Qin Jiao nodded and looked at Shen Feng. "If all you had to say was ’I’m sorry,’ then fine. I heard you. If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving."

"Don’t go!" Shen Feng shot to his feet, so agitated that the nearby guards kept glancing over at him.

Fortunately, he only stood up abruptly and did nothing else, his hand clutching the phone in a death grip.

Tears streamed down his face as he spoke. "Qin Jiao, for years now, I’ve been having these dreams. They’re fragmented, but they connect into a single story. In my dreams, we were deskmates in high school. At first, we were fierce rivals, always competing over our grades. But in the end, we both tied for the top score on the college entrance exam."

"We fell in love in college, and even though we went through a lot of ups and downs, we still got married in the end."

"After we married, we had a wonderful relationship. Life was sometimes a mess of petty troubles, but we became happier and happier. And finally..."

Qin Jiao finished for him, her face a mask. "Finally, you became successful and famous, the richest man in North City."

Shen Feng’s pupils contracted sharply.

Qin Jiao continued, "You had a crush on me in high school, didn’t you? So when did those feelings disappear? You said there were a lot of ’ups and downs.’ What were they, exactly? And what about your mother and me? We never got along, did we? She made things difficult for me at every turn, and you just told me to bear with it, didn’t you?"

Shen Feng was utterly dumbfounded.

The corners of his mouth twitched, but he couldn’t utter a single word.

’How could Qin Jiao possibly know about these dreams? They were only *his* dreams!’
