Qin Jiao carefully recalled the events of that day. "After you stormed off," she said, "Lu Jiuan actually stayed and talked to me for a bit. I apologized for your behavior and told him you didn’t mean it. He wasn’t angry at all. In fact, he apologized to me again for getting my dress dirty."
"And then?" Shen Yi wasn’t particularly eager to hear this part.
Qin Jiao continued, "After that, I went to the restroom to clean the red wine off my dress. While I was in there, I overheard some people talking about Lu Jiuan. They said he’d been in the electronics business for a while, though it was a shame his company was just treading water. They also said he was very devoted, still hung up on the one that got away."
