Chapter 577: Chapter 607: Opening a Chain Store
Seeing that Qin Jiao was really about to leave, Shen Feng said in anguish, "Qin Jiao! I’m telling the truth!"
Qin Jiao didn’t even turn her head. "I don’t really like Lin Nian, but you disgust me even more!"
Shen Feng was left completely stunned.
But Qin Jiao didn’t spare them another thought. She turned and left the hospital, immediately putting Shen Feng and Lin Nian out of her mind as she decided to visit Youjia Noodle House.
The idea had come to her earlier while she was eating at a restaurant.
Business at Youjia Noodle House was booming. The few limited-quantity items Qin Jiao had established were now in such high demand that they couldn’t keep up.
Recently, people had been approaching Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun, asking to become their apprentices so they could also open a similar noodle shop.
Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun were baffled. They had been cooking for so many years but had never once taken on an apprentice.
In reality, those people wanted to open their own noodle shops in the university town. They even copied Youjia Noodle House’s limited-supply model, but their business was nowhere near as good.
Of course, what no one knew, not even Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun, was that the other shops weren’t using Spiritual Spring Water to make their dough.
When Qin Jiao arrived, there was a man there who had come all the way from the west side of the city, near the Foreign Language University where Qin Xiaolan was currently studying.
This was Boss Lu. He was in his fifties, a bit on the plump side, and his eyes crinkled into slits when he smiled, giving him a very friendly appearance.
Qin Jiao looked at his face and felt he seemed a little familiar.
When Qin Jiao came in, everyone turned to look at her. Boss Lu said with a friendly laugh, "This must be your daughter, right? She’s so beautiful. Is she married already?"
"My daughter is already married," Su Yun said.
"Oh, that’s a shame," Boss Lu said. "I have a nephew who’s exceptionally bright and dashingly handsome, a university graduate. But then again, he’s already married too."
Su Yun’s lips twitched upon hearing that. ’So you really just said a whole lot of nothing, didn’t you?’
Still, you can’t be rude to a friendly face, and both Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun had good tempers. They chatted for a little while longer before Boss Lu said regretfully, "I still wish to become your apprentice. Here’s my home phone number. If you ever change your minds, you absolutely must give me a call."
Qin Zhonghui could only nod and see the man out.
When he returned, he sighed. "This is getting ridiculous. Making noodles is just about mastering the timing and heat. We can’t really teach them anything."
Su Yun nodded in agreement. "This is the third group to come by this month."
Seeing how worried her parents looked, Qin Jiao chuckled while munching on an apple. "Mom, Dad, this is money walking right up to your door. Why aren’t you happy about it?"
"What money? We can’t charge that much just for teaching them how to make noodles."
"Exactly! When we learned our trade, all we did was buy our master a few cartons of cigarettes."
Qin Jiao wiped the apple juice from the corner of her mouth with a napkin. "That’s actually what I came to talk to you about," she said. "Since they’re interested, you can have them open franchises."
Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun stared at each other blankly. "What’s a franchise?"
So, Qin Jiao carefully explained the concept of franchising, simplifying it for her parents.
She had never planned to rely completely on Shen Yi. Even though he had put Jiu Yi in her name while he went off to build his own electronics company, Qin Jiao had no desire to simply sit back and reap the rewards.
She and Shen Yi were meant to stand side by side, the kind of couple that would take the market by storm together.
With the memories from her previous life, she had a significant advantage in this era. While she was still young, pursuing multiple ventures was also a way to secure their future.
