In just a short time, Felix Lawrence and his people had already constructed a simple shelter for them to live in temporarily.
"Since you’re all right, go ahead and get settled. I have other business to attend to."
Stella Sterling nodded at Felix Lawrence.
’I originally had things to do in Veridia, but I came here because I was worried about Felix Lawrence and his people. Now that I see they’re safe, it’s time for me to take care of my other matters.’
’As for Felix Lawrence and the others, it won’t be too late to catch up after I’ve handled my business.’
Felix Lawrence nodded. Knowing Stella Sterling still had business to attend to, he didn’t dare delay her any longer. He was already incredibly grateful that Miss Sterling had gone out of her way to bring people back to rescue them.
He asked, "Miss Sterling, is there anything I can do to help?"
Stella Sterling looked at Felix Lawrence and his people. After what had just happened, they were still in a daze.
She shook her head. "No, that won’t be necessary. Just focus on getting your people settled. But I will have to trouble you with this one for a little while."
Stella Sterling pointed at Andrew Shaw. It would be inconvenient to bring him along for what she had to do next.
Felix Lawrence nodded. Whether it was out of respect for Miss Sterling or because the little guy had saved so many of them before, they would look after him without a second thought.
Besides, they had discovered during this time that even though he was young, he wasn’t rowdy like some kids.
He didn’t cause trouble, so they didn’t have to worry about him. Aside from being a little picky with his food, he was perfect.
When he heard this, however, Andrew Shaw was not pleased. He shouted, "Hey! You! Are you trying to ditch me again? Don’t forget, I’m your responsibility! I’m staying with you!"
Stella Sterling looked down at him.
’I remember he was trying to run away before, he didn’t want to be with me at all. And now? I give him his freedom, a place where no one will boss him around, and he’s not happy about it.’
She stared at him. "Are you sure?"
Andrew Shaw grew nervous under her gaze. ’Don’t be fooled by how reasonable she seems right now. I know how vicious she can be.’
He hesitated at once.
’It’s dangerous being around this woman. If she gets angry, I’m toast.’
’But with Felix Lawrence and his people, I’d have a lot more freedom. The food might not be as good as it is with Stella Sterling, but everything else would be pretty great.’
He was about to answer when he saw Stella Sterling avert her gaze. "Fine, stay with me, then. Just don’t regret it."
Andrew Shaw watched Stella Sterling with pleading eyes. ’Can I regret it right now?’ he wanted to ask.
But looking at her, he didn’t dare say a word.
’I might have been a little reckless just now, but I know my limits. I wouldn’t dare actually make a woman like Stella Sterling angry.’
So, he hung his head and followed behind Stella Sterling and her people.
Seeing his dejected look, Felix Lawrence and the others were a little confused.
’Hasn’t the little guy been talking about Miss Sterling this whole time? And he just said he wanted to stay by her side. So why does he look so unhappy now that she’s agreed?’
’It makes no sense. It really makes no sense!’
Stella Sterling left with her people. This time, she, Black Swan, and Andrew Shaw rode in the same car, with Seven Locke at the wheel.
Andrew Shaw sized up the others in the car. He knew they must be the woman’s subordinates.
’She once said she was coming here to attack Sanctyr Base and that she brought about twenty subordinates with her.’
’Looks like she met up with them while she was away.’
’Does that mean she’s going to attack Sanctyr Base soon?!’
At this thought, Arthur Shaw’s heart grew heavy.

Sarah Sterling closed her eyes and spoke to the other three people in the car.

’From what Sterling said, does this mean this little kid is a new recruit? One of her subordinates?’
’I wonder what skills the little guy has for Sterling to value him so much.’
Arthur Shaw suppressed his worries, batted his eyelashes, and said in a deliberately cute voice, "Hello, you two. My name is Alan Shaw. I hope you’ll look out for me in the future!"
From the driver’s seat, Seven Locke smiled and replied, "Hello. It’ll be a pleasure working with you."
Although he didn’t know why Sterling had recruited someone so young, he was sure she had her reasons, so Seven Locke didn’t ask.
Black Swan also nodded, her reaction colder. "I wouldn’t say ’look out for you.’ We’re colleagues. We help each other."
Their attitudes weren’t cold, but they weren’t exactly warm, either.
Andrew Shaw wondered to himself, ’Am I not cute enough?’
’Don’t women love cute kids like me? Why aren’t these two reacting at all?’
The rest of the drive was mostly silent. Before long, they arrived back in Veridia.
On the open ground, Stella Sterling saw many people who had been dug out of the rubble.
Some were still alive, but others were no longer breathing. Their friends and family knelt beside them, crying softly.
She turned to the people from Caeluna Base behind her and said, "It’s our turn to act. Now is the time for Caeluna Base to expand. Start the rescue, and at the same time, let’s make a name for ourselves. Show them the strength of Caeluna Base!"
