Besides these few from Sanctyr Base, Stella Sterling turned her attention to several other people.
They hadn’t been part of Sanctyr Base, but as far as Stella was concerned, they were old acquaintances.
It was Mutt and his underlings, the ones she had beaten before.
Seeing the woman look his way, Mutt’s face lit up with excitement and exhilaration.

’Given the intensity of that earthquake, my little camp back in Veridia is probably buried under rubble. I can’t go back.’

’Why did this goddess kill our boss? Was he guilty of some terrible crime?’
Stella Sterling offered no explanation for her actions. After finishing off Mutt, she looked at the two men beside him. "I killed your boss. Do you want revenge?"
Hearing this, the two men edged away from Mutt’s body and said in unison, "You must have your reasons for doing so."
"Very good."
Stella’s lips curved into a satisfied smile. She liked people who knew how to read a situation.
’Still, it’s a bit surprising,’ she thought. ’Both these men and the ones who just marched to their deaths... they hold me in far too high regard.’
’It’s like they truly see me as a god, following and submitting to me unconditionally.’
She then let out a low chuckle. In this apocalypse, everyone was living a miserable existence. Perhaps they were all desperately hoping for a god to appear and save them from their suffering.
So when she displayed abilities that no normal person possessed, they placed all their hopes on her.
A meaningful smile touched Stella Sterling’s lips.
’They aren’t wrong to think that way. Because for them, I am their god, and I will save them from their suffering.’
’If they follow me, they truly won’t have to live like they used to.’
She stood up and looked back at Sanctyr Base, which had been reduced to a field of rubble.
’It’s a bit of a shame,’ she mused. ’I was planning to take care of both Evan Sterling and Miles Sanctus today.’
’I didn’t expect an accident like this to happen.’
’Now I have no idea what’s happened to those two—whether they’re buried in there or have already escaped somewhere else.’
Stella Sterling was more inclined to believe the latter.

The man let out a cheer. "I knew it! I knew I wouldn’t die so easily! I still have to get my revenge on Stella Sterling! How could I possibly die like this? I even survived that! I must be the chosen one!"
"Sanctyr Base may be destroyed, and all that experimental data is gone, but I have everything memorized! Just give me time, and I’ll be able to redevelop it all! Then I’ll build a massive army and get my revenge on Stella Sterling!"
Perhaps he was just too excited. After emerging, Evan Sterling let out a huge sigh of relief. Along with the euphoria of surviving a disaster, he felt a surge of heroic ambition.
When Stella got a clear look at the man, her expression turned mocking.
She just watched and listened.
As she listened to Evan Sterling rant about how he would get his revenge on her, a playful smirk crossed her face.
After he finished his passionate declaration, she finally spoke up. "That’s a nice thought. Too bad you won’t get the chance."
Hearing that voice, Evan Sterling whipped his head around. His pupils contracted the moment he saw Stella Sterling.
’I noticed there were people here,’ he thought, ’but I didn’t think much of it. I just assumed they were survivors from Sanctyr Base, same as me.’
He hadn’t noticed that Stella was one of them.
’I was even thinking about how to quickly integrate myself, then find a way to take control and become their leader.’
’With them to protect me, I could find another base and continue my research.’
’That way, who cares if Sanctyr Base was destroyed? I’d still be the esteemed Dr. Quinn.’

But he never expected Stella Sterling to be right here. And she must have heard everything he just said.
