Apocalypse Rebirth: Crazy from Day One

Chapter 407 - 417: Excited

Chapter 407: Chapter 417: Excited

After entering the space, she started looking for the bead she had gotten from Derek Walsh.

Anticipation began to build within her.

The space had previously shown such a great craving for the bead; it must really need it.

’What kind of evolution will the space undergo after I toss it into the exchange zone?’

Just thinking about it made Stella Sterling feel incredibly excited.

But moments after entering the space, she was dumbfounded.

’Where’s the bead? Where’s my bead?’

Stella Sterling’s eyes widened. After getting the bead, she had secretly placed it inside the space, planning to toss it into the exchange zone when she had some free time.

Well, now she had free time and had entered the space, but her bead was gone.

Stella Sterling frowned, knowing full well this space was her own possession.

Ever since she started practicing the Space Manipulation Technique, she had been in complete control of it.

She knew it was impossible for anyone else to enter the space.

’So it couldn’t have been taken by someone else. Where did it go?’

Frowning, she searched the space with her mind.

In a fleeting instant, every corner of the space unfolded before her, holding no secrets!

But she still couldn’t find a trace of the bead.

However, she did notice that thunder was rumbling over at the exchange zone.

Stella Sterling focused her senses for a moment, and her expression turned a bit peculiar.

The coldness in her eyes slowly faded, her expression one of astonishment as she stared at the exchange zone.

She hadn’t expected the space to be so impatient. The bead hadn’t been stolen, nor had it vanished—it had been automatically absorbed the moment she put it inside.

This was the first time Stella Sterling had encountered such a thing, but she wasn’t surprised.

Her connection with the space was growing deeper, as was her understanding of it.

She knew the space evolved by consuming special materials. Usually, it had no active needs and relied on Stella Sterling to feed it.

But when it encountered something it truly coveted, it would take the initiative.

Just like what had happened today!

It was just that this was the first time she had ever seen it happen.

Now that she understood what had happened, Stella Sterling relaxed. She sat down on the sofa she kept in the space and stared at the exchange zone.

These days, the space’s evolution no longer forcibly ejected her. Since she had nothing else to do, she decided to wait and see what kind of earth-shattering changes would occur after it absorbed the strange bead.

’An item that the space craves this much can’t be anything ordinary.’

’After it finishes absorbing it, the evolution will likely exceed my imagination, and the benefits for me...’

At this thought, the corners of Stella Sterling’s mouth slowly curled up. Her usually placid heart was now thrumming with faint excitement.

As she waited, time seemed to stretch on endlessly.

Finally, Stella Sterling shook her head. ’Waiting around foolishly like this is kind of dumb.’

’There’s nothing wrong with wanting to see the changes for myself, but there’s no need to just wait around doing nothing.’

’Didn’t I prepare a bunch of stuff before? Now’s the perfect time to put it to use, right?’

With that thought, Stella Sterling took out her phone and scrolled for a while. She found a TV series she hadn’t seen before and decided to start watching it.

As she passed the time, she also spread her spiritual power throughout the space, keeping a constant watch on its state.

No change within the space could escape her perception.

An unknown amount of time passed, yet there was still no new development.

But Stella Sterling didn’t panic. She had plenty of experience from over the years. The better the item she fed the space, the longer it took to absorb. And the more time it spent, the greater the rewards.

So, Stella Sterling remained calm. She even used her mind to conjure some drinks and a few barbecue skewers. After a moment’s thought, she added two small beers to the mix.

Here, she began to enjoy herself.

She smiled with satisfaction as she watched the items move about, controlled effortlessly by her mind.

’I can do this in the outside world too, but it’s not as fluid and easy as it is in here.’

’And that’s just because my training isn’t advanced enough yet. As my abilities grow, I’ll become more and more powerful.’

"Mm, delicious. Just a tad too salty, though. I wonder if the guy who owns this barbecue joint used to be a salt merchant?"

Stella Sterling muttered to herself while eating her skewers. Her eyes were glued to her phone screen, while her mind simultaneously monitored every stir within the space.

She was truly splitting her attention three ways!

But Stella Sterling handled it with ease, feeling no strain whatsoever.

Another unknown amount of time passed, and the plate of skewers she had just conjured was now empty.

The two small beers were gone as well.

Of course, she didn’t feel the least bit full.

So she conjured some more food. She glanced at the exchange zone again, but seeing that nothing had changed, she withdrew her gaze.

Just as she was about to dig in again, Felix Lawrence’s voice came from outside the space. "Miss Sterling, Miss Sterling, are you there?"

Stella Sterling peered out through the space, and Felix Lawrence appeared before her eyes.

When she was in the outside world, Stella Sterling couldn’t see through walls.

But from within the space, a radius of several hundred meters outside was completely transparent to her; she could see everything with perfect clarity.

Right now, Felix Lawrence was standing at her bedroom door, knocking and calling out. He looked rather anxious, as if something urgent had come up.

Stella Sterling’s gaze flickered. She glanced at the still-unchanging exchange zone, then at the delicious food she was about to enjoy.

After a moment’s consideration, she put the food down, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and exited the space.

’From the looks of it, the space won’t be done absorbing this anytime soon anyway. I can find out what Felix Lawrence wants and come back in to watch everything firsthand.’

’And if push comes to shove, I can still monitor the space from the outside.’

With that, she exited the space and went to open the door.

"What is it?"

Having knocked for quite a while with no answer, Felix Lawrence had been about to leave. But when he heard her voice, he turned back around.
