Apocalypse Escape: Day One of Survival

Chapter 447 - 443: Getting Rich with the X Realm

Chapter 447: Chapter 443: Getting Rich with the X Realm

"Little Master, Little Master," the parrot squawked, flapping its wings beside her. "Give me some too, Little Master. Little Master, Little Master, the little tiger means he wants to drink two more basins of water. Can water even fill his stomach?"

Xie Ning stingily filled another small half-basin of water for them. "I have no idea how deep this well is. What if it runs dry after we drink from it for a few days?"

Little Spider was speechless. "Little Master, what are you even thinking? This well is intrinsically linked to the entire farmhouse Space. As long as the farmhouse Space exists, this well will never run dry."

Xie Ning: ...

’Great,’ she thought. ’The damn parrot corrupted Little Spider. Now it’s calling me Little Master, too.’

’Even ’Subject Ningning’ sounded better than this...’

"Are you sure it’s okay for me to give them more?" Xie Ning asked hesitantly. "Shouldn’t you measure the depth of the well?"

"No need to measure. It won’t run dry, Little Master. Just go ahead and give it to them. However, this Replenishing Energy Liquid shouldn’t be consumed in large quantities. Given the White Tiger’s size, just one more small basin is enough for it."

Upon hearing this, the White Tiger immediately transformed into a majestic, imposing tiger.

Little Spider’s electronic voice was flat. "It doesn’t matter if you make yourself bigger or smaller, two small basins is the maximum. Any more will be harmful to your body."

"Ever heard the saying ’too much of a good thing’?"

The White Tiger replied with an "AWOO."

Little Spider smugly waved its few scrawny legs. "This is what separates the cultured from the uncultured."

"You with your trash IQ can’t even speak clearly. Go back and learn how to talk properly."

Xie Ning gave the reluctant White Tiger another small basin of water and patted its head. "Alright, that’s all for today. Hey, just think, if you stick with me from now on, you’ll get some every day, right?"

The White Tiger thought about it, and its mood instantly improved. It grabbed the basin in its mouth and began to frolic about.

Little Spider couldn’t help but comment, "Little Master, I feel like you treat everything you raise like a dog."

The parrot let out a screech, suddenly flapping its wings and struggling wildly in mid-air, screaming, "You damn pig, you pig-head! Let go of me, let me go!"

Xie Ning turned her head and saw the damn parrot being dragged by something, its feathers flying everywhere in the air.

"Alright, alright, stop fooling around." Xie Ning felt a headache coming on. She waved her hand and shouted, "Xiao Hua, come on, get down here! Stop biting Xiao Huang."

The figure of a small, chubby, multicolored pig suddenly appeared in mid-air, dragging the molting parrot down with it as they both crashed onto the grass.

Xie Ning couldn’t help but laugh, stepping forward to pull them up, one in each hand.

"Xiao Huang, you can’t just go around acting like a tyrant in the Space all the time. Look how many enemies you’ve made!"

"Little Master? Who are you calling Xiao Huang?"

"You!" Xie Ning gave its head a playful tap. "Aren’t you Xiao Huang? With your messy yellow and green feathers, if I don’t call you Xiao Huang, should I call you Xiao Lü instead?"

"Little Master, I’m guessing you’re not very educated!"

Xie Ning was left speechless. Just then, she heard the electronic voice let out a series of GAK GAK GAKs.

’Damn... I’m actually being mocked by an AI.’

Xie Ning poured a little more well water for Xiao Hua and Xiao Huang, then filled two small water bottles for herself before slipping out.

As for Little Spider, it claimed the farmhouse Space was lively and decided to stick around.

Xie Ning let it do as it pleased.

She had originally thought the AI preferred peace and quiet, but unexpectedly, it seemed to enjoy bantering with the chatterbox parrot.

Ridiculous!

Just as Xie Ning stepped out of the Space, she heard a knock on the door of her small compartment.

"Sis!" Song Kexin’s voice came from outside.

"Come on in."

Song Kexin pushed the door open and bounced in. "Sis, what do you think of my outfit?"

Xie Ning glanced over.

Kexin was dressed all in black—black jeans paired with a black leather jacket. She looked quite sharp.

But then Xie Ning watched as her sister threw on a thick, black down jacket...

She rolled her eyes, speechless.

’What’s the point of showing me, then?’ She’d thought Song Kexin was planning to go out looking all cool and dashing in just the leather jacket and jeans.

"Aren’t you a Fire Element Fourth Rank Superpower User? You think you’ll be cold out there? Why wear so much?"

"Isn’t it?" Song Kexin sheepishly drew her hand back and zipped up her down jacket. "It’s really cold outside, Sis. You should put on more layers."

"Auntie said so."

Xie Ning didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Under Song Kexin’s watchful gaze, she had no choice but to silently pull a thin down jacket on over her sweatshirt.

"I’m not cold!"

"Auntie says down jackets protect you from the wind and sand. It’s windy and dusty out there, so we should be prepared."

Amused and annoyed, Xie Ning went over and tugged her zipper up even higher. "Are *you* cold?"

"I’m not cold either!"

"Then why are you wearing so much?" ’Some Fire Ability User she is,’ Xie Ning thought. ’She looks just like a regular person.’

"Auntie says if you don’t listen to your elders, you’ll be the one to suffer. We should just listen to them."

Song Kexin took out a pair of thick gloves.

Xie Ning raised an eyebrow. "Hold on a sec."

"For what?"

Xie Ning used her superpower to rummage through a pile on the terrace, digging through a messy heap of slippers, cushions, knives, and swords before pulling out a whip.

"Here."

"Wow, this whip looks really well-made!" Song Kexin took it and stroked it admiringly. "What’s it made of? It feels so weird! It’s solid but smooth to the touch... Damn."

Xie Ning gave her a light tap on the head, exasperated. "It’s a whip that increases your speed."

"It’s called the Super-speed Whip. As the name suggests, with this weapon in hand, your attack speed will be... well, I can’t say for sure. You’ll have to try it to find out."

"You can infuse your Fire Ability into it. Try it out later when we’re in the wild."

Song Kexin nodded repeatedly, hugging the whip and spinning in circles. "What kind of superpower weapon is this? Sis, where did you get it? It’s so cool!"

Xie Ning’s hand, which was busy packing her bag, paused for a moment. "You guys don’t know? I got it from the roulette wheel yesterday."

"Huh? You mean the Krypton Gold Roulette?" Song Shijun poked his head in. "You actually used it?"

"Yup!" Xie Ning nodded with a solemn expression. "I got a ton of things. I’ll sort through it after breakfast; I have something good to give you."

Song Shijun’s eyes lit up. He started circling his sister excitedly. "What is it, Sis? Let’s go eat breakfast now! It’s getting cold, hurry up."

"What’s the hurry? I still need to get organized!" Xie Ning was speechless as Song Shijun dragged her out with one hand.

"Don’t worry," she said, "I got a whole pile of things from the spin yesterday—some good, some bad. There’s something for everyone in the family. It’s all a friendly, free-of-charge donation from the X Realm."

Xie Ning didn’t feel the slightest bit of guilt as she said this.

’Wasn’t it a generous donation from the X Realm, after all?’

’So, getting rich really does depend on opportunity. And now, the opportunity from the X Realm has arrived!’

"I heard a group from R Country went to cause trouble with the admins last night."

"Ningning’s here! Quick, sit and eat."

"On the B1 floor?"

"Yeah! They were raising a huge ruckus!"

"About what?" The completely oblivious Xie Ning took a bite of her steamed bun and asked with a curious look on her face.
