Chapter 2031: Who Did It Hit?
Boom! Bam! Bang!
The clash between Grey and the gray-haired beastman caused the very fabric of space to shake.
The other beastpeople did not dare to approach the duo, only watching from a considerable distance.
The Lady rushed over to assist the gray-haired beastman, only to be blocked by the lazy looking Void.
Void did not attack, only looking at the Lady menacingly. His intentions were clear, you move, and I attack.
The Lady looked at Void warily, she still recalled what happened the two times this cat has attacked. When Void struck the first time, it took the gray-haired beastman’s intervention to save the white-clothed beastman. The other Peak Sovereign beastman was not so lucky as Void’s attack managed to break his defenses, making him defenseless against Grey’s attack.
The white-clothed beastman grunted when he noticed Void stopped the Lady. Without hesitation, he rushed in the direction of the gray-haired beastman and Grey. Grey and Void’s sneak attack felt like a humiliation to him, and he would never allow something like that to go without repercussions.
Grey and the gray-haired beastman were having an intense bout when they sensed the fast approaching white-clothed beastman.
Grey’s expression changed, knowing that things might become difficult for him if the duo joined hands against him. He looked in Void’s direction, only to see him and the Lady staring off. He knew this was Void’s limits as he could not hold back two Peak Sovereigns.
It took only about a second or two before the white-clothed beastman got to where the battle was taking place. Without hesitation, he struck.
Grey was already blocking an attack from the gray-haired beastman when a lightning bolt came from behind him. He wanted to dodge the attack, but the gray-haired beastman did not give him the opportunity.
Caught in a dangerous situation, Grey pushed his essence to the limit before using his earth gravitational force field around himself.
His earth gravitational force field was usually used in an attempt to catch his opponent off guard, taking advantage of it to deal a deadly blow. In this case, he used it in a defensive manner. Anything within his gravitational force field slows down considerably due to the sudden change in gravity. This was the same effect it had on the lightning bolt. Even though it was very fast, it was still slowed down by the gravitational force field.
Grey, taking advantage of this, moved his body to the left, dodging the lightning bolt by a hair’s breadth.
The gray-haired beastman, who was stopping him, was also caught by the sudden change in gravity. Before he could react, he noticed Grey moving to the side. His eyes expanded when he saw the lightning bolt filling his vision. This was the same attack sent out by his companion, the attack he was trying to stop Grey from avoiding. He wanted to try to dodge it, but he was a bit slower than usual, making it impossible for him to dodge the attack.
The white-clothed beastman failed to see his attack about to strike the gray-haired beastman since he attacked from behind Grey and the lightning bolt covering most of his vision. Nevertheless, just before the attack struck, he noticed a shadow moving away from the range from the side of his eyes. Trailing the shadow, he was shocked to realize the shadow was none other than Grey’s figure.
Boom! Bang!
The lightning attack struck something hard, sending it crashing to the ground.
’If my attack did not hit him, who did it hit?’
The white-clothed beastman paused, shocked that Grey dodged the attack, yet it still landed on something.
When he thought about who it might have struck, he quickly shook his head, not daring to believe it. Yet, when the light died down, it was just as he feared.
With his mouth agape, he stared at the gray-haired beastman crawling out of the ground, disheveled, with blood flowing from the side of his mouth.
’Impossible!’
Grey looked at the gray-haired beastman, shocked that his injuries were not more severe. He moved at the very last minute, to make sure it was hard for the gray-haired beastman to react to the attack. From the condition of the gray-haired beastman, it was clear that even with the limited time, he was still able to ensure he suffered as little damage as possible.
’It’s good he’s the only one this strong.’ Grey felt grateful the others did not have the same battle experience as this gray-haired beastman. If the others were as experienced as the gray-haired beastman, then things would have been harder for him.
The gray-haired beastman took a look at Grey, he did not even spare a glance for the white-clothed beastman. He knew the white-clothed beastman had no intention of harming him, rather, it was Grey who took advantage of the attack. What he could not understand was how his entire body suddenly felt very heavy, making it hard for him to dodge the attack. Given his speed, even though he saw the attack late, he would have still been able to evade it. But for some reason, he found it extremely hard to move his body, which was why he was hit by the attack.
The other beastpeople watching the fight felt their hearts in their mouths when they saw the gray-haired beastman being struck by the white-clothed beastman attack. They did not understand how or why the white-clothed beastman would attack the gray-haired beastman.
The Lady as well as the beastman who had been incapacitated by Grey’s previous attack looked at the scene in shock. He could comprehend how the gray-haired beastman turned out to be the one who was struck in the end.
"Void, let them know I have no intentions of killing anyone." Grey said to Void.
Void relayed Grey’s message. To be honest, even the weaker Sovereigns he attacked, he only knocked out, he did not kill any of them.
The gray-haired beastman noticed this while fighting with Grey, and so did the other Peak Sovereigns. However, letting go of their sacred treasure was not something they were willing to do.
