Chapter 520: Chapter 250: What Do You Mean, I Accidentally Killed the Boss? (Part 2)
"It should be right here."
Deke rushed over at the sound of his voice and took a closer look. "It really is!"
"Everyone, get over here! We’ve found the nest entrance!"
Hearing this, the Adventurers quickly gathered.
"Next, we just need to dig. We’ll probably have to go down seven or eight meters, twelve or thirteen at most. Then we should be able to see the tunnels left by the Crystal-devouring Worms."
"Twelve or thirteen meters?"
Lin Mo stroked his chin. "Digging will be too slow. I’ll handle it."
As soon as he spoke, he pressed his index and middle fingers together. A powerful surge of Qi and Blood rapidly converged at his fingertips.
This time, however, he needed to open a passage, and one that was too narrow wouldn’t work. So, Lin Mo opted to charge his attack. The already powerful Qi and Blood instantly grew even more condensed and terrifying...
’I was just hoping I wouldn’t run into a situation that required a fully charged Demon Light Piercing Kill. I can’t believe it’s only been a short while, and here I am, about to use it.’
’And for this, of all things... digging a hole.’
’It feels like a bit of a waste, but it’s the best way to save time.’
Although Lin Mo hadn’t said a word, his powerful aura was enough to make the surrounding Adventurers tactfully back away.
Finally, after five seconds, the Skill’s charge reached its maximum.
"Hah!"
The next moment, Lin Mo let out a sharp cry and pointed his fingertips to the ground.
A beam of Sword Qi, noticeably thicker than when he had tested it before, shot out. An additional strand of Sword Qi spiraled around its exterior, wrapping it tightly.
The ground before them, like soft cotton, was instantly pierced by the powerful Sword Qi.
The Sword Qi vanished. Looking down into the newly created pit, they saw a hole about a meter wide and seemingly bottomless.
"Hiss—!"
Watching the shocking scene, Deke couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.
’What a terrifying Skill!’
’Just how many more unknown tricks does this young man have up his sleeve?’
’At this point, it’s no longer a matter of whether our leader’s loss was unjust... After a little while—and it won’t be long—by the time of the Hunting Competition, having once fought this guy to a standstill might actually become a source of Honor for him.’
While everyone around was still in shock at the power and effect of the attack, Lin Mo, its creator, was completely stunned.
Because...
[Demon Light Piercing Kill] Skill Level +60
’What’s going on? Did my Skill happen to hit a Demon while I was digging the hole?’
’But a normal Demon wouldn’t give this much Skill Level. And it came in one lump sum, not in increments, which means I definitely only killed one Demon, not two.’
’Sixty Skill Level points from a single Demon... Based on my past experience, the target’s Threat Level must have been Level 8.’
’And if I remember correctly, for the quest we’re on—"Exterminate the Crystal-devouring Worms"—the most dangerous and powerful Demon, the mother of all these Crystal-devouring Worms, the Crystal-Devouring Worm King... isn’t its Level supposed to be Level 8?’
’Did I just kill the boss with a single Skill meant to clear a path?’
’This... this is too much of a coincidence...’
"Next, we just need to force these Crystal-devouring Worms out and kill them."
As Deke spoke, he took out another cloth bag. "This contains Purifying Insect Grass. When burned, it produces a smoke that’s extremely irritating and mildly toxic to insect-type Demons. We just need to light enough of it and toss it into the hole. Before long, the worms will come out on their own."
Lin Mo wasn’t listening to Deke. He was pondering a problem: how was he going to retrieve the materials from the Crystal-Devouring Worm King?
’That thing is who knows how deep underground. Going down rashly would be one thing, but getting back up would be a hassle.’
’The position swap with my Clone can only be used once, so having the Clone go down to get it and then swapping places isn’t very practical.’
The corner of Lin Mo’s mouth twitched. ’What a mess...’
’Still, it’s not like there’s no way.’
Lin Mo suddenly thought of something.
So he hurriedly stopped Deke, who was about to light the grass.
"Wait a moment..."
"What’s wrong?"
Deke asked, puzzled.
"Uh... something came up."
As Lin Mo spoke, he used the Shadow Splitting Skill to summon his Clone.
The Clone immediately took a leap and jumped straight into the hole.
After about seven or eight seconds, the Clone thrust the Frost Dragon Scale Sword in his hand sideways into the earthen wall, arresting his fall.
It was pitch-black underground. Even with night vision, it was difficult to make out the surroundings.
The Clone took out a small, portable Magic Energy Lamp that his main body had given him and switched it on.
Sure enough, the tunnels dug by the worms came into view.
Looking down, he saw that the bottom of the pit wasn’t far.
And near the bottom of the hole, the Clone did indeed see an enormous worm. It was lying there motionless, a perfectly neat hole punched through its body. Green blood and mucus were splattered everywhere, a truly disgusting sight.
Even as a Clone, he felt his skin crawl. He could only suppress his disgust and leap down.
Soon, he found the Crystal-devouring Worm’s most valuable material on its corpse: a green, sac-like object roughly the size of a washbasin.
This was the Crystal-devouring Worm’s Poison Sac.
Normally, something like this couldn’t be touched casually. But as an Adventurer taking on this kind of mission, he naturally came prepared. The Clone took out a pair of acid-resistant gloves, put them on, and then picked up the Poison Sac.
